  1. The South Africa season I found on the official Survivor channel is season 4, I think. It's Survivor: Maldives and features a group of regular South Africans and a group of celebrities. Not sure how old it is, but I am enjoying it.
  2. I quit watching years ago because I couldn't stand Adam. Probably the third or fourth season. Maybe it's time to give the show another shot.
  3. Of course they kept King Dipshit around. I mean, we just had an entire season based on being an asshole. It's the Ink Master Way.
  4. I would rather see someone win via comp domination (an actual part of traditional Survivor) than lame idols and advantages (not part of traditional Survivor). As for the list, I am relatively pleased with it except for the recency bias. Several of those people I watched little-to-not-at-all because their seasons sucked. When the game became more about idol hunts than anything else, I stopped caring so much about it. Ghost Island was the absolute worst. Super happy to see Kim and Sandra. Pleased to see Michele. Interested to see how Amber navigates things. I would imagine that Sandra allies with either Rob or Amber, whichever ends up on her tribe. I would imagine the couple gets split up. The men? Whatever. Don't necessarily hate them, but don't actually care, either.
  5. I liked her briefly in her first season. Every return after that made me despise her, her nastiness and her stupid eyerolling more and more. I hate BB, and don't feel particularly warm about the sisters, but they are absolute class compared to Eliza and Corrine. And always have been.
  6. What difference does it make? He can only play it either next TC or the one after (depending on when the actual "final five" is). He's at least getting to final five, even if he doesn't win immunity. And he's in a much better situation as far as possibly getting a majority with the EoE returnee. He played that in the most advantageous way possible considering his situation. It's not like Aurora was going to do anything to better her situation, despite knowing she was on the bottom. Everyone else was sure they were Final 3 and didn't need a different alliance. So, what else was he going to do?
  7. That Grudge Match spin-off looks terrible. I skipped last season over that bullshit. Why would I watch an entire series based on the same tiresome dynamic?
  8. If anyone thinks the network that kept Moonves around for decades gives a fuck about Richard Hatch and Sue Hawk, I have some beach front property here in Tucson to sell you.
  9. Rick was only out there for a few days, wasn't he? He was one of the last people voted out before the challenge to get back in. Who was he bonding with? The people who were bitter that he voted them out--and said as much? Of all the people who were voted out, he is probably the least objectionable possible winner precisely because he has spent most of his time in the main game.
  10. I am not. There's no ethics in TV, if it is viewed as an ethical issue, and the general viewing public likely doesn't care about his tax issues. They brought Hantz back repeatedly. Not sure Richard is worse.
  11. I don't hate this season. The weird thing? If I did hate it, I would stop watching like I have several previous seasons. Never have been into devoting hours of my life to something I hate.
  12. You're selling Sandra short. She can also advise on how to pin your evil deeds on someone else.
  13. They spun Steph and Bobby John as "advisors," as well as spinning Rob and Hantz as "resources." Of course, in both cases, those players could still win.
  14. Just gave in and watched the first season. I so intensely hate almost everyone except Emily, Flynn and Emily's dad that I don't know if I can sit through a second season. I especially want Uncle Psycho to fall in a ditch somewhere. No, I wouldn't allow a dude who gets off on torturing women and patronizing human traffickers around me or my kids. I am so over the mindset that tries to pass that shit off as acceptable. I don't want some bullshit redemption arc for him.
  15. I always wanted "Skinny Ryan" back. But, honestly, other than him and Francesca, I can't remember most first boots, either.
  16. I didn't realize how much I like David and how little I like almost everyone else until I was desperately hoping he would win immunity.y My rooting interest is now Aurora because there's no one else I can really stand. Want Warthog out so badly, and have for a while. Like the entire season.
  17. How often do we actually get a coherent depiction of why a vote happened? From after-the-fact interviews, we know that what we're shown is often half (or less) of the story. I found that TC much more compelling than the vast majority of TC where they create a "story" instead of showing what happened. I got an idea of what happened there. Most of the time, it's largely bullshit. Extremely interesting TC.
  18. That priest has admitted that he was wrong. He got played. It happens, especially since we have such a questionable justice system and there have been several cases where DNA exonerated people. I never thought Coleman was innocent, but I can see how he could manipulate people. That hardly makes them "assholes," IMO.
  19. Just realized this week that Sling has added ID. I am enormously happy.
  20. Since this show long ago stopped being about strategy and just became a cluster fuck of idols and advantages, I can't be bothered to hate the twist. As for voting out the returnee being "mean," I was a little annoyed by that until I remembered all the endless whining about returnees being targeted. And that brings me to another reason EoE doesn't bother me. When you have multiple people getting a third shot vs newbies, there's nothing fair about the game to begin with.
  21. Just got a chance to watch this episode, because I keep forgetting about the show. (Tells you something, I guess.) Anyway, after seeing how these assholes on Manu behaved, nothing made me happier than them not knowing Reem was going to get a chance to come back. I intensely dislike that group of people.
  22. I don't hate Wendy and I intensely dislike the Warthog. But she is wrongwrongWRONGwrongwrong. 😉 Seriously, though, I grew up rural. Hunting, fishing, raising livestock. I would much rather slaughter and butcher my own food than buy it from a store. I know it was treated well in life and slaughtered in the most humane way possible that way. We used to play with the calves, piglets and rabbits for as long as we had them. Fed them well. Gave them lots of room to move around. That hormone-and-antibiotic fed stuff from the store lived a terrible life and had a terrible death.
  23. We might have once upon a time, but it was back when the show was still on Thursday and conflicted with the NCAA Tournament. No real reason for it now.
  24. The earlier information I read indicated that they can stay out there and try again. Found it earlier in this thread:
  25. Everyone on the tribe has experienced the same losing. She's still there. She should expect votes after already having multiple chances to play the game and facing newbies who haven't. If David isn't getting votes, he just might be playing a better social game than she is, and she should figure out how and why then adjust accordingly. In other words, her pissy mood is lame and she should suck it up. This obviously isn't helping her.
