  1. You're correct that it can take forever for the rest of us to pick out dresses. I left out the word "formal" cuz what the Duggar gals wore is not considered formal in my book. From what I can tell by the quick previews, it looks like the girls were trying on dresses that they knew they wouldn't like. I know dresses can look different when you get them on, but from what they had on it looks like they were trying on dresses for the sake of creating a dragged out storyline. And, of course, we'll have to hear that Jill is marrying Derickdillard (I consider it one word now), the courtship rules & the modesty crap. Wonder if the girls had to wear a modesty cape? If so, did they have enough to go around or did they share? Yuck- brain bleach please.
  2. The girls could have worn bone colored flats. Both bare feet & flip flops are soooo disrespectful in church. If she did go bare foot, maybe she took one last walk on top of the counters (in true Duggar style) before leaving for the wedding.
  3. Well I prayed to the Lord & he put it in my heart that it is OK for me to snark on Michelle's clothing. So I will. Add me to the list of liking to shop at thrift stores, yard sales, etc. I love a good sale rack too.
  4. Don't forget Boob & MEchelle's signature lines when describing each of their children (like at a child's birthday) "we are grateful to God for ** insert child's name **, he/she has been such a blessing to the family, we are so thankful, he/she is such a joy."
  5. How are they going to drag this out for a half-hour episode??
  6. After reading the responses about why the Seewalds would let Bin live with the Duggars, all I can say is they brought it on themselves. I definitely wouldn't want my son to be a J'slave but what did they expect? They were the ones that got themselves invited to the Duggar Church of the Warehouse so Bin could lay it upon his heart to find a future spouse. And being on TV was an added perk. They could have stood up to King Boob & said No to his offer. They should have said that they wanted Bin to stay home so he could continue college & his job so he would be able to provide for a future spouse & it may take years.
  7. I loved when Rosie asked if Lance Bass / N Sync was going to plan the landscaping for Kathy & Rich's new house after finding out Kevin Jonas was working for them.
  8. Regarding the newlyweds taking time to get acquainted with one another AFTER MARRIAGE. I always thought it was sad when they showed Josh & Anna on their honeymoon saying they spent hours talking by themselves & getting to know one another. Normal people do this before marriage especially to determine if you are compatible. But with their stupid courtship rules, they can't.
  9. Trimthatfat--I agree with you about Jessa couldn't stand to be on her feet all day, waiting on others as a hair stylist. My niece just started in Cosmetology program at the Vo-tech Ctr in high school & loves it. The first thing they are learning are the "social skills": how to greet the client, asking them what they want done etc. I just can't see Jessa inateracting with others with her "I'm prettier than you/holier than thou attitude." My niece's teacher is a stickler about attendance & being on time as these are very important when they will be working as a stylist. So Duggar time wont work here.
  10. NikSac & Mickpiciks: can I be the 3rd sister? I agree with both of you. What is all the hoo-haa about shopping for a gown. When I looked for my gown many many years ago just my mom & sister went. I think I went to about 5 stores until I found "the dress". Didn't Jill make a comment about having to find the dress in this store. What if she didn't like any of them as was my case? Did she have to settle on a dress at this shop because I'm sure it was comped & it was Anna's friend? I don't think she looked too thrilled when she found "the dress." It was like she was still making up her mind that this was it. For me, I knew I had found my dress as soon as I had it on. I liked jill's first dress better but it was hard to tell the design of the dresses with that stupid modesty thing. Whichever the two of you said it, I love your description of the strapless dresses that arrive before the bride.
  11. Sorry guys - I just watched the Duggar speech at the Summit & realized Josh was with them but it looks like poor Josiah is still at Alert. Boobs speech - OMG! Him of all people talking about dealing with anger issues with your children. Yeah, Jim Boob, it was shown on national TV how you showed your anger with Josiah. Both on the baby announcement episode & the paint ball episode. Then he talked about training the children to serve others & explained how they have volunteered on several political campaigns. Hasn't every candidate they helped/endorsed lost? And the way MEchelle looked adoringly at him & added her "sweet" comments as he was speaking. When MEchelle asked the audience how many planned to have a family, I wish someone would have yelled "No, God has put it in my heart NOT to have children." And I almost forgot about the shout-out Boob gave Josie the Miracle child. Oh did you know today is Josh & Anna's anniversary? No we don't care Boob.
  12. Regarding the Photo from the Summit: The first thing that jumped out at me is Michelle isnt wearing the denim skirt/tent. I guess its home for Grandma to launder. I'm surprised Boob isn't wearing a red shirt to match Michelle. Why do the little girls have to wear leggings under their long dresses? Who are they defrauding? I count 15 real Duggar children. Plus Anna, Ben & I think Mackynzie. Like Michelle, I cant keep track of the younger kids by name -I just call them "brother" or "sister". It looks like Josh (guess he was doing his own thing at the Summit),Jill (who I read was camping with Derick), John-Doofus & Joseph are missing. It looks like Josiah is there & back from Alert. Hope he's not just at the summit on a weekend pass. Where are the violins?
  13. I noticed the shoes too along with the rest of her outfit. She had on just a button-downed preppy shirt with skirt & looked like docksiders. I'm really surprised she didn't have flip-flops on so I guess she thought the docksiders were "dressing up." The rest of the girls looked nicer like they may have put some thought in their outfits. I guess Jill is just following Michelle in not caring what she wears when she goes somewhere special. I liked the dress she had on when her & Derick were on cover of People announcing the blessing. I guess it came from the People wardrobe dept. Did Jill ever show what shoes she wore at the wedding? Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll see it on this coming weeks episode when the bridesmaids shop for their sandals. I'm sure they were nothing like the stilettos the Bates' girls wore.
  14. On another note....I'm watching the Amazing Race. On the first challenge, the couples had to scale a large rock formation in the ocean in St. Thomas. After making it to the top they had to jump/leap into water to retrieve clue in a bottle in the water. This climb & jump looked a lot harder than what the Duggar guys did. All I could picture if Boob & Michelle were in the race was Michelle, not hesitating & leaping into the water with her Modest Swimwear swim dress blowing up in the breeze showing her knees. Then there would be Boob standing on the ledge in his infamous cut off jeans & polo shirt w/undershirt underneath, screaming to Michelle that he doesn't know if he can jump because he has 19 children.
  15. IIRC this was included in a list of things to keep your husband happy /how to treat your husband that Michelle gave Jill before the wedding. I think a friend "shared" this with Michele before her wedding. It may be on the Duggar Family blog but I don't feel like looking for it.
  16. I agree with above poster about is this the norm to be reading off index cards your feelings towards bride. They act like shes going off to war not knowing when they'll see her again. On another blog, someone noted that Jill is getting more like her mother in not saying "Thank You." Her replies are the typical "Awwwww or that was sweet....." I wish TLC would have condensed this wedding to 3 episodes like Jeremy & Audrey's wedding on Little People Big World. First episode was proposal & events leading up to it. This weeks showed the wedding prep & next weeks is the wedding. Of course they had filler but these episodes seem to flow much better & not be all drawm out. I read somewhere that next weeks episode shows the bridesmaids shopping for their shoes. Really???? We all thought they just pulled them out of the family closet.
  17. I have to laugh that one of the commercials that always runs on 19K&C is the Gerber Grow Up Life College Savings Plan. I also saw one for some type of medicine for menopausal women. I guess these are products that the Duggars won't endorse/acknowledge. Watching the episode where Derick comes home from Nepal. When Cathy tells Derick about hoping they (him & Jill) have time to talk, the look on her face says "so you can talk & come to the realization you don't want to join this circus of a family." I'm sure she didn't have one of the Duggar girls in mind when she thought about what type of girl Derick would marry. This is also the Dinner Theater episode. Producers had to give the kids the idea because what do the Duggars know about a dinner theater. I was surprised Jana was leader but I guess since Jill WAS COURTING she didn't have the time. I know its been said before but Jill's excitement/giddiness over preparing for Derick's arrival is totally opposite of what she preaches. But, once again, why does this surprise me?
  18. That would be great! Since it's been shown he's not one of Boob's favorites (to say it nicely) I wonder if Boob & MEchelle would even bother trying to get him to come back home. I noticed on episode where Josiah had his "getting his GED" party, he never looks at Boob when MEchelle is giving her sappy redundant speech. I would think a kid would look at both parents but I'm sure Josiah knows Boob's true feelings for him. I don't blame him at all for giving Boob the silent treatment.
  19. But remember in that episode where the Miracle child didn't want to wait her turn playing with the ball MEchelle exclaimed "The world does not revolve around Josie!" Just gag me. Who is she fooling?
  20. [quote name="leighroda" post="409088" timestamp="1411674554 Edited 1) tipped and ripped are not the same. 2) I thought of something funny: I really want to run into MEchelle in public and say "oh, do you have any kids?" Because she would be completely befuddled that someone is not aware that she "gave birth to every one" Don't forget to tell MEchelle that she looks so young to have (birthed) 19 children. But don't wait around for a "Thank you" because she won't say that. Be sure to use your high-pitched baby voice.
  21. The newer Duggar Homeschooling video is such a farce. It shows more of the kids running around doing their usual nothing than showing them doing schoolwork. There were a couple of clips of individual kids in front of a computer supposedly working on the curriculum from the company that "mama" MEchelle did the video for. There were more family shots (one was them outside in their usual birth order line). What does that have to do with home schooling? I loved the shot of them sitting at the SOTDRT with one of the younger girls, riding a kids bike, squeezing thru the space between the backs of the kids sitting at the table & the wall. OMG! I guess she was done her schoolwork & she was at recess. There's a clip at end showing Ginger playing piano (once again is this home schooling?) with one of smaller girls (I cant tell them apart) perched on the top of the back of the sofa. At least she wasn't walking across it. If I was the curriculum company, I would be embarrassed to show it. This video surely portrayed home schooling in a negative way - more goofing off than schooling. I was also surprised they are showing more negative responses in the Comment Section after video. People were questioning why kids can't go to a regular college, rumors about having teachers come in to help, etc. In the past, it seemed like they only showed the positive comments praising them. I know a lady & her daughter do the blog but I wonder if the Duggars read it.
