  1. PREACH. I have my own thoughts on Bughead, but it’s irrelevant and I’m not caring for a debate, lol. Although I don’t think they should be married any time soon, if we’re stuck with them, why do we also have to be stuck with Varchie? At least allow them to be in other dynamics. Damn.
  2. I thought she did like Reggie for real, it just didn’t have enough time to develop because they wanted to quickly repair Archie and Veronica by the end of the third season, which I will never understand. Alas, I actually don’t think it’s the last time they’ll visit Ronnie and Reggie.* *And I’m not talking about endgame or anything of that nature. Just the mere fact that if this show has more seasons, both Varchie and Bughead are not going to always be together.
  3. They don’t treat Toni as her own character with her own qualities and quirks. She’s just “Cheryl’s girlfriend.” It’s a waste that they can’t see beyond that and have her interact with other characters or even introduce some of her family members. I just like Archie more when he’s not near her. They’re certainly better when Hiram is off-screen, but their relationship is very much, “Archie needs to do something! Veronica has the money!” It’s repetitive.
  4. Man, if I have to see Archie and Veronica in bed one more damn time. #FreeArchie Considering the fact that Toni literally interacts with NO ONE outside of Cheryl...I wouldn’t be surprised.
  5. I don’t believe so, no. And, I’m sorry, but it should be a bigger deal to Betty & Jughead that they share a brother (regardless of blood) and they’re living in the same home like they’re a family. It’s weird and should be acknowledged. Riverdale has missed so many beats for various things (and it’s a long list that would be OT for this thread, lol) because they only know how to make room for two types of scenes: 1. whatever plot they’re trying to move forward, 2. couples in the teen scene.
  6. They’ve never been in a relationship until now. I believe this episode was the first time they’ve shown them kiss (even though they were shown in bed together for a second last season). It was something that was teased and spoken about with bits of information, like Charles being their son, but honestly, I was never convinced as to why they work. It was never sold to me and when they had a chance to do that through flashbacks of when they were teens, it got even worse. Alice and Fred had a deeper moment than FP/Alice did, which was odd.
  7. To me, it just shows laziness and a lack of imagination and creativity. They really have no idea how to write a compelling drama with risks and it SHOWS. They literally keep telling the same stories over and over and think we don’t notice.
  8. Well, we don’t know the timing of these flash forwards. As in, what came first, middle, last. And maybe FP doesn’t know the real details but just knows Jug needs to fake his death for some important reason, who knows. I can’t stand Betty’s story. Honestly, the only one that is mildly holding my interest is Jughead’s but even that isn’t good because Riverdale refuses to be unpredictable. At the end of the day, we know Jughead isn’t dead and they’re all going to be fine. When you have no stakes, you feel no consequences for what happens or doesn’t happen. It takes any real enjoyment out of the story.
  9. I think FP and Betty looked upset, but yes, they weren’t on the floor sobbing. I’m leaning more and more towards my original thought, which is that the teens/family know what happened to Jug and are helping him fake his death. Or ~serial killer Betty~ killed him. 🤡🤣
  10. Before my mini-rant, I will say it was actually quite creepy to have tapes of the outside of people’s houses. LOL @ Archie moving thisclose to his mini screen, though. But....we’re only on the fourth episode of S4 and I feel like Riverdale is stuck again. I don’t know why or how they just seemingly continue to go in this SAME circle. It’s neverending. Enough with Jason, enough with a shady Charles, enough with the Black Hood, enough with “serial killer genes” nonsense, enough with Archie as some kid vigilante. And that’s leaving out the complete repetitiveness of Hiram. And on top of all this, Jughead is NOT dead. We know y’all don’t have the balls for that. Instead, try doing something a *bit* unpredictable for like, once, and stop with the cheap bait for social media clicks. I just feel like at a certain point, some of these stories need to be laid to rest. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  11. And it’s very much Archie to do something questionable alone so a friend, in this case Monroe, wouldn’t get in trouble. They stay cute.
  12. Are we sure that Edgar and Betty aren’t related, seeing as they speak in exactly the same manner? Would I watch a spinoff of Archie and Monroe fighting crime? Why, yes, yes I would. And was Mary just going to leave Archie because Riverdale is a shithole? I mean, I get it and I know he’s a ~senior~ and an ~adult~ but like, he’s ~not~ Seeing as he just lost his father a few months ago and his girlfriend is ... that questionable chick whose father tried to murder her son ... I’m just saying. Speaking of Hiram, he and Ronnie are so FF-worthy. Ronnie has been for awhile, anyway, but man, I just don’t care about them. Why do I like Jughead??????? All he had to do was take off that serpent jacket and wear a tie to get my attention? Curious to see what’s on the VHS tape. Assuming it’s related to whatever is going on at the school? Is his grandfather on the tape possibly?
  13. Both of those scenes were so cringe, the former obviously stan service. And I hate to be this person, but Camila just....doesn’t have a good enough voice to keep giving her solos.
  14. Yes, I was exaggerating for giggles, lol, but you are right. All we know is that FP’s dad went to the school for a few months and then dropped out. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason he dropped out is something Jughead will uncover later. Or even possibly the reason why he just “went out for cigarettes and never came back” could be tied to whatever happened at the school, as well. Basically, I’m sure there’s a connection and a reason to include the “legacy” aspect.
  15. I’m also still cackling at him pushing Jug to go to this prep school and then after enrollment is like, “oh btw your grandpa went there and like we never actually saw him again and we should have filed a police report but have a great time :) “
  16. They really need to give Toni her own storyline & character arc. Following Cheryl around is beyond repetitive. Jug was exactly how I always want his character to be, and I don’t know what to do with this??? I like him????? Just...no more serpent leader bullshit, pls show. No more. As for the flash forward, Jug disappears like his grandfather did? But then I wonder if he goes missing before or after the scene where they’re all gathered by the fire. Hmm. I hate that I’m interested in this, lol. Archie and Monroe!!!!, my hearts. It was nice to see Archie just happy to be around Monroe and a bit lighthearted after last week’s epi. Archie, pls never find out where Harvard is located, I beg of you. So, did...Reggie kill his father? Or do something to him? That was all wrapped up way too quick & him saying his father won’t be coming around anymore? Also, I teared up a bit when Reggie said he was jealous of Archie’s relationship with Fred. 😞
  17. Lol, they really tried to hype up some kid who is a ~Q~ only to kill him off and get rid of the rest of his family. I cry, I cry.
  18. You guys, when the man Archie believed killed his father called him “son” and Arch punched the wall and screamed “SHUT UP! You took away the only man who can call me that!” 😩😩😩 I’m still gutted.
  19. Eh, I don’t care, they can have 800 scenes with Betty/Jughead/Archie together, reminiscing, etc. But this idea that Betty and Archie can’t be in scenes alone together, talking about Fred, or talking about growing up together, or talking about a loss of a parent, or whatever it may be, is not something I agree with in the slightest. Betty and Archie’s friendship has always been treated as its own thing—not just something related to Jughead. Same, same, girl!
  20. I want to fanwank in order to defend the writers and that this was a way to showcase that Betty has residual guilt about her own father and the fact that he almost killed Archie’s dad the first time. And she couldn’t be there for Archie bc of this, or say things in connection to her own loss, so she allowed Veronica and Jug to take the lead. Which would explain why she was always in the background when they were all together. And I hope they have Betty and Archie talk about this in the future. Bc it would really disappoint me if no one thought it was important or relevant to write a solo scene for them, considering their characters’ history with each other and Fred’s character.
  21. Luke would have been so proud of KJ. He carried that episode on his whole back. So much respect for what he was able to do. And to do it WELL. The strength and vulnerability and rawness, just...no words.
