  1. I think Betty does have a not-so-great side of her and I wonder if Archie being willing to do whatever she wants will be something that’ll cause problems between him and Ronnie. Or maybe even him and Betty, when Archie realizes she’s off her rocker.
  2. This is the only content I’ll ever need.
  3. Like, why do they want him dead and/or dislike him? I don’t think we know the real answer to that yet. Although Betty theorized it could be about Chipping’s death or the preppies are just playing a game...
  4. Mary was genuinely crying over Jughead and Archie would never play with her emotions like that. Especially after Fred’s death. And, yes, Betty is having a complete nervous breakdown, though, because Jug DID get hurt & she’s being framed for it. As the Stonies said, all the evidence points to Betty because that’s how they set it up. Betty is clearly a mess and trying to control the situation. This is the same chick who was scared to death she’s like her killer dad .... she’s now walking around basically bragging that she’s the Black Hood’s daughter to scare Donna. Betty ain’t all there.
  5. I feel like I’m 100% certain Archie knows Jughead isn’t dead. For all the reasons that you just said plus my own take of where this story is headed. At one point in a convo with Veronica, both Archie and Ronnie agreed that all they can think about is Betty. She’s the one they’re worried about. I’m sure if they believed Jug was really dead, she wouldn’t exactly be the priority or the first thing on their mind, lol.
  6. He took it off as he started to follow Bret. Archie legit just did whatever Betty told him to do, lol. He’s really too good for them all. But really, IMO in my theory, Bret and Donna did “know” that Jug was dead because they framed Betty for the “murder.”
  7. Yeah, I think it’s very possible they demoted the parents and that kinda forced those actors to exit. If Riverdale does a time jump, I see why they’d have to make certain decisions, especially because they (unfortunately) barely use some of those characters in the first place. However, the writers need to actually do something different to keep my personal interest. This show keeps going in circles and is afraid to rock the boat in any way and it’s extremely repetitive.
  8. I’ve decided I’m not going to think too hard with Riverdale. And it’s not as complicated or innovative, lol, as I sometimes try to make it. Something Ronnie said stuck with me: “There’s only so much pretending I can do.” I still think this is all a plan because the Stonies tried to make it look like Betty killed Jug. There’s a lot of missing pieces in the story that we aren’t seeing on screen. I think Jug was truly hit in the head but it obviously didn’t kill him and now he’s off wherever until they’re able to trap B & D. So I think most of them know he’s alive, Ronnie included, but she just doesn’t know if Betty is sane and what parts of the incident she actually played a part in. I also don’t think Betty really knew until later in the episode. I think when Mary started to show real emotion and related Jug’s “death” to Fred’s, Archie couldn’t lie to her like that & told her the truth: that Jug is alive, his classmates tried to kill him and frame Betty for it, and they’re going through these motions to get a confession. ETA: I almost forgot the parts that legit had me LOL’ing: Bret calling Archie “Elmo” & Archie closing his curtains all, “Excuse me mom this psycho bitch is stalking me.”
  9. I’m going to hope Archie knows Jug is alive and this is all an elaborate act because if not, he needs to drop Betty to the curb immediately and also close his window curtains. Same goes for FP.
  10. So, I have to believe that Betty, Archie, and Veronica all know about Jughead’s plan and are aware he’s alive. None of them have real devastation going on, lol, in the flash forwards or the new promo. The only time Betty actually looked upset was in the Pop’s scene with Archie, but I still think that was more about just feeling like he’s been gone awhile & she’s over going through with the “plan.” I do think it’s possible Archie and Ronnie don’t know the complete truth (at first) about why Jug has to fake his death, what’s going on at prep school, which makes sense since they haven’t seen Jughead or Betty for 89 years. As far as the plan, I don’t think Jug intended on being smashed in the skull, so I think whatever idea he has happens on the fly. Like, “Oh, shit, they hypnotized Betty to kill me, this is far more serious than we thought, I gotta go in hiding,” etc. So I like what someone mentioned here that either Brett/Donna hit Jug and planted it on Betty OR Betty actually did do it while under a “spell.”
  11. It’s gotten worse, if that’s even possible. I don’t know if she’s ever taken acting classes, but honestly, she should. And I’m not saying this in any type of rude way. One of the main problems she has is her delivery—it’s very robotic & stilted. If someone can help her be natural it would go a long way.
  12. All I kept thinking about during that Archie-Ted match was that KJ does all his own stunts & I’m like, that boy is really down for anything. Probs one of the craziest fights that we’ve seen on this show with no hospital stay afterwards. Archie is only half human, I’m sure. And, yes, do his “friends” know that he almost died at school or..?? Dear show, CONNECT YOUR CHARACTERS. I think I’m ready for Jug to finally “die” so that story can actually get to the good parts because now it just feels like it’s dragging unnecessarily. And I’m still not a fan of how Archie and Veronica haven’t even really been involved until we get to the flash forwards. Do they even know anything about Betty and Jug’s probs with the prep school? Or do they legit find out info when they see Jug’s body and Betty with the rock? Seems a bit late in the game. And are Archie and Jug going to freaking speak before the latter “dies”!? Wtf. Oh, and haaaate that they have Donna lying about sexual assault. Just...no. Couldn’t care less about Hiram or the Lodges. Not interested at all to see next week’s Varchie epi where Archie has to give a rat’s ass about a man who tried to kill him. #FreeArchie
  13. I think the takeaway from the Betty and Jug scenes is that he’s just not being truthful about certain things. Obvs to show some cracks in the relationship before Betty supposedly kills him. Jug’s intention is never to truly hurt his friends and family- he just doesn’t think further than himself and his wants/needs sometimes. Now whether there’s any point to take any of this seriously within the story, I’m not sure. I do think there’s a larger game being played here. Every day my theories change, so I’m off the fictional Jughead story one today. Only bc I realized it would be really strange for Jug to write a story about Betty killing him with her serial killer genes. Seems like an awkward convo starter. “So I was gonna write about Betty’s dad being a killer but I decided to write a story about her killing me instead!”
  14. Ooh, good points. I don’t know why, but I also thought maybe Betty and Jughead had broken up. There was something so overly dramatic and very teen-like about Betty’s “I keep waiting for him to come back and he’s never coming back.” And it also would explain why Archie just looked sad that she was going through this vs. being devastated himself about the disappearance/death of his friend. Yeah, they’ve been in a rough place the past two episodes in particular but it always ends with a Full House 30-min later bonding session. But I think it’s clear their problems will continue..... 🤣🤣
  15. Preach. It’s a problem I’ve been having with the show for awhile now. As well as the repetitiveness of everyone’s journey. On Archie’s end, I really thought things would change with his character last season with that whole bear beatdown & “killing his past self” but yet, here we are again. This show is very much “same shit, different day.” None of these characters have truly grown or progressed & that’s something you’d think would happen by a Season 4. It’s part of the reason I’m down for some different dynamics and character interactions. I’m bored. Only thing keeping me awake is this Jug story because at least it’s beginning to show signs of intrigue. I’m not gonna try to convince you to see things differently than you already do, I promise. We all like what we like. I will say that Betty/Archie have been teased from the beginning and I’ve always thought they’d eventually do something with it in some form, especially as the show goes on. I (personally) have no interest in seeing Bughead/Varchie constantly for however long this show lasts for. I’m like, are we going to be on Season 6 and it’s still Bughead/Varchie!? Something has to happen to shake things up or it’s just boring for some people. At the end of the day, we’ll probably end up in the same place, but for the sake of storytelling, something or another needs to change once in a while. As far as the friendships, that’s another problem with Riverdale. Archie/Jug, Jug/Ronnie, Ronnie/Betty, Betty/Arch, etc, don’t interact. Only the couples do. And it’s weird.
  16. I’m all for Betty and Archie to be explored. And, actually, it’s the perfect conditions for it to happen in some way, especially if it is all Jughead’s book and fictional, to give one example. But obviously this will always be a hot topic because a lot of folks are attached to their ships, which is fine. I’ve been ready for change and other dynamics for awhile, but I know that’s not a popular opinion. Whether it’s real or fake, the fact that someone realized that, “hey, maybe we can write a scene for KJ Apa and Lili Reinhart. Like, I think their characters should speak, right?” Already a win.
  17. I mean, I forever expect predictability from Riverdale. They don’t ever really do anything that shakes up the show in any way. So, yeah, it’s always possible that this whole thing is half-assed. And, yes, we know Jughead isn’t dead. Cole isn’t leaving, etc, etc. But a part of me knows the writers acknowledge we know this —it’s whether or not they care to write a story that doesn’t just end with “He’s alive” that’s the question. Did they develop this as a story that goes beyond the “Is Jug dead or alive” question.
  18. I also think it’d be quite interesting if only Betty and Jughead (and maybe FP and Alice) were playing this elaborate game to sink Bret for good and Ronnie and Archie were being fooled in the process. Which would make for some hurt people and tie in a bit of reality. Or maybe they’re all in on this plan but something happens and it backfires in whatever way. I really think something has to be real in this story & legitimately effect these characters and cause a change/shift or it’s really just a waste of time. Like say it’s all Jughead’s book? What happens after that? “Great job, Jug, you’re so ~talented~, let’s all go graduate now!” 😴
  19. @GHScorpiosRule Kim is a guest on SBu & Bradford’s podcast, just FYI.
  20. Late to the party, but it’s 2020 and we’re still doing the “No one accepts me for being a lying, cheating, gambling alcoholic, let me live, wah!” story for Billy? Really, show? Y’all not even trying in that writers room, huh?
  21. I’ve noticed that a few things that Lili doesn’t want to do, Betty doesn’t do. And I’m not saying that in any type of way, like, I’m pretty sure Archie doesn’t really do music anymore (as his main storyline) because KJ hates singing. As usual, the only story that’s been holding my interest, besides just being impressed overall by KJ’s growth as an actor, is Jughead’s. Did anyone feel as though Bret seemed...sad...that Jug is “dead”? Could it have been an act, sure, and maybe it’s to throw the audience off, but it was just something I noted at the end. Could it be a possibility that Bret isn’t the classic bad guy we’re being force-fed? Because that would be the obvious choice in this particular story. I saw this stated elsewhere, but hopefully the writers aren’t so inept and their big reveal is not merely “Jughead is really alive!” Like, y’all, we know this. So something else should come out of this that isn’t so predictable and has an actual effect on these characters. If this all ends with milkshakes at Pop’s, it’s a fail of a story, IMO.
