  1. Just finished the episode...Elizabeth looked downright uncomfortable being the only other person at Allie’s adoption. The girl was bizarrely matchmaking, I felt bad for Nathan. I think Elizabeth seemed really comfortable with Lucas, not the handhold in the saloon but even they smiled afterward. Lucas knowing that Henry’s son is one to watch shows that he’s not going to take any chances with him and that he wants to protect the citizens of Hope Valley. I like Joseph and his family, but either be a preacher or don’t? He says he doesn’t want to be but is leading a multi night prayer vigil? We didn’t learn why Ned needed a second surgery, did we? Why do Clara and Jesse only fight? It’s more than the money. Maybe Rosemary can find out why on the switchboard? I also thought having Lee try on Bill’s jacket was odd... Again Nathan does nothing but Liz is attracted to him. Whatever
  2. Rosemary doesn’t have to quit the dress shop if it’s sold or if Lee buys it. It’s just manufactured conflict, they’ve given Rosemary a midlife crisis. She and Lee have talked about having children but won’t adopt. The doctor tells her she’s fine to have kids but hasn’t. So the niece has moved in and Rosemary is shepherding her. I suspect we’ll see Rosemary become Mayor since Abigail won’t becoming back 3 seasons later.
  3. So much yes to this post! I do not understand Nathan fans criticizing Lucas for actually planning dates and prioritizing Elizabeth in his life as too fancy and something she wouldn’t want. Because being lectured by the new Mountie who has no idea how to parent his annoying niece is way better than a library or a catered meal she didn’t have to clean up. She actually smiles and laughs with Lucas but Nathan comes with a built in babysitter so he’s probably the better choice? I’m sure he’ll spend most of his time sulking at the office when she has to prioritize the kids or work or her passions so it won’t be too bad? I don’t want to read one more comment from a Nathan fan about Lucas not understanding Elizabeth’s responsibilities as a mother and how mad they are about little Jack not being on their dates. Why would someone with childcare take their toddler on dates in 1918?
  4. I wouldn’t say Elizabeth had sex regularly, she and Jack were married for two weeks before he was transferred and she got pregnant in that timeframe. I do think it’s odd she told Lucas that Nathan was out of the “running.” He can see the way she still looks at Nathan. There are other single men in town, are they out of the “running” too? I don’t understand how she’s attracted to Nathan even though they’ve never spent measurable time together alone. He’s lectured her repeatedly through the years vs listened to her which shows a lack of respect. His abrupt declaration that he’s in love with her truly came out of nowhere as did her suddenly being afraid of his job. I think the writers went with the declaration as a way to catch him up to the progress Lucas had made with Elizabeth. Lucas has actually dated Elizabeth, built a library for her, got her a book deal and has known when to be supportive and when to step back (school graduation) it shows she’s a fool if she chooses Nathan, who has literally done nothing but sulk and complain.
  5. Unfortunately, I can't see Abigail returning to Hope Valley. These episodes were filmed while Lori was serving her time, maybe that's why the shoutout--they were thinking of her? Hallmark is too squeaky clean to bring her back. Elizabeth does seem lonely with out her. The Conservatives were in outraged at Elizabeth's date dress this week (had children avert their eyes, seriously), I don't know that they'd welcome Lori back.
  6. The first year of marriage can be the hardest, but Clara and Jesse seem to only fight. Clara has been married before, maybe she could've avoided some conflict? Jesse just seems really immature, he also doesn't seem to work at all. He's always on the seen, but sitting at the desk, etc. The actress that plays Faith I think has steady gigs on other shows, but since WCTH seems to be all about the women I guess I could see Carson leaving. They need some men in the town though. It's odd that Carson and Faith had chemistry until they got them together... As for Robert graduating, I'm guessing Cody would've graduated as well if Abigail hadn't left. Kids also went to school at that time only till about 12 years old because they had to go to work. Didn't Laura graduate or homeschool with Elizabeth in order to finish her studies? Typically graduates would have been much younger than they are now. I doubt they will cancel the show, they are out of storylines and When Hope Calls basically bombed but WCTH has a pretty big fan base.
  7. Something I'm finding bizarre about the show is that Elizabeth is continuing to date Lucas (yay!), but the showrunners will put her with Nathan in the end (because teacher only ends up with Mountie). But will Elizabeth really choose Nathan based solely on his love declaration and his dedication to Ally? They've never been on a date, or even really alone. She's regularly dated Lucas and he's actually been supportive. This triangle makes no sense because one point of it declared love, but didn't even try to date first. Ugh.
  8. The forgettable guy is Elizabeth/Erin’s real life boyfriend. Pretty sure at this point that’s why he has a role on the show. He was a forgettable character in her latest Hallmark movie too. I agree it’s silly to saddle Fiona with him.
  9. Just watched last week’s episode. If the mother has taught the blind daughter, wouldn’t that mean she’s a concert pianist as well? The whole trial was dumb. I think it’s clear at this point that Jack and Nathan may not have met but Jack died because of Nathan. Perhaps Nathan was suspended so Jack had to take his place and died? I’m guessing Nathan knows that, which makes him even more unlikeable. I get that he and Elizabeth are end game because the teacher has to be with the Mountie and he comes with a built in babysitter, but there doesn’t have to be a connection to her dead husband. Lucas isn’t dumb, he can see what’s happening between Liz and Nathan. I suspect he and Liz will date (again) for 5 minutes and he’ll tell her what he sees. Why are they trying to make Molly and Bill happen? What a bizarre pairing. This show used to be about more than just couples. I guess they’ve chosen an age appropriate kid for Rosemary and Lee? Weird. Following Paul Greene on Instagram, I can’t believe he lived away from his family for 5 months to have 1 minute (with mostly Faith talking) per episode.
  10. Three years in I think it's beyond the pale that Nathan would've never mentioned to Elizabeth that he had known or had some kind of interaction with Jack. Even wracked with guilt (potentially) why would have never told her up until this point? He hasn't always "loved" her, there were many times he could've said something but chose not to. So I'm really hoping that he didn't know or meet or try to rescue Jack. If she were to fall for him just by association of Jack that would be ridiculous. Although, it seems she's fallen for him because he's a Mountie, they've had no dates or other romantic interactions. I think you're spot on about the Laurie and Jo parallell with Lucas and Elizabeth. They do seem to be great friends but that appears to be not enough. I've always hated Little Women for not having Laurie and Jo together when it was so obvious they should be. The way Nathan has treated Elizabeth through the seasons is the most troubling. I think it just reinforces stereotypes that if a guy treats you poorly he must like you. No, he's just treating you poorly.
  11. Well, as predicted, Lucas's mom's secret has driven a wedge between Elizabeth and Lucas. Whatever. I didn't like how she didn't take any responsibility for keeping the secret. Understandably Lucas was upset with Liz and the idea his parents weren't in love anymore. I see this making him a sceptic when it comes to love now. Meanwhile, they are building up big drama with Nathan and a pointless Mountie trial, no doubt to introduce the idea he might've known Jack even though he's already said he didn't. I would guess he'll say he sort of knew him and what a great guy he was so she'll stop pushing her feelings away and finally let him in. Ugh I don't see Lucas sticking around town if he loses Elizabeth, it would be too awkward. Kind of like it's awkward watching Carson and Faith...he really can't treat her as an equal in the office? She can't see he has more experience and could learn something from him? Also, can we get her another clothing change? 3 episodes in the burnt orange pant suit is enough. Lee, Rosemary and Little Jack really are on their own show together. Is Rosemary planning to give up the dress shop to take care of Jack? Was Kevan actually injured and that's why he's playing Lee injured? Overall, I liked the episode. No school (where were those kids?), everyone in town had a storyline and there was a crisis everyone could unite in.
  12. Have we seen any of the tv Roloffs take the pandemic seriously? I’m not surprised at Amy’s soup party but she shouldn’t have posted it. Jer and Auj have taken countless maskless trips with friend. Zach and Tori have travelled and gone to get togethers. Matt’s been to AZ. Maybe they’ve all had Covid and not said anything but their behavior has been dissapointing.
  13. What a mess! I wonder if there won't be a complete overhaul of the show. I think it was a good idea to bring in Acho, since he's written a book on race relations and lived the experience. He's also who Rachel had recommended. I don't think Chris should lose the host job over this, but I also don't know how he comes back? Generally it takes a long time for apologies to be accepted and there's consequences (which, not hosting the finale probably isn't enough) But learning that they've now recast the Bachelorette again, they need to stop production and figure out the show they want/should to be.
  14. I don’t think there’s much of a journey to have children though. They’ve been married for years, they’ve had orphans on the show and the most interest they’ve had has been in having their own vs adopting. There wasn’t really anything doctors could do back then to help. But if they can have electric Christmas lights, maybe they can have IVF?
  15. I don't get the progression either, or lack of a progression. How can Nathan and Elizabeth only have been on a few walks talking about town stuff but be in love? Because they are implying she loves him as well, so much so she had to run away from him. In the brief interactions they've had he's lectured her or told her to mind her own business (sounds like love to me?). The only thing they have in common is that she's Ally's teacher and Elizabeth was previously married to a Mountie. What else have they shown us? Nothing. It perpetuates such a bad stereotype that he treats her poorly so that means love...no, it just means he'd always treat her poorly. She's actually dated Lucas for a year now off and on. He's been supportive and caring and gave her space when he thought she had feelings for Nathan. They can have actual conversations. But they've manufactured this secret with his mother, so it won't end well. I expect Lucas will leave Hope Valley once Elizabeth runs through town declaring her love for Nathan after another close call. Whatever.
  16. So Nathan rides by Elizabeth sitting by the road and decides to declare he loves her twice? WTH, have they ever even been on a date? He’s in love with her from the few times they’ve walked through town together, normally with Allie along as well? Holy no plot development. I’m guessing Lucas’ dad leaving his mom will now create the rift between Lucas and Elizabeth since she knows and he doesn’t. She’ll also get the impression that he’s like his father and won’t settle down. Whatever. The minute they cast the new Mountie with a niece to bond with Elizabeth at school and be old enough to babysit Jack it was always Nathan because the teacher chooses the Mountie in the books.
  17. Frank and Abigail “broke up” he went to work in a different town temporarily, came back and said he was moving there and Abigail was fine with parting ways. I think he’d been gone basically a whole season anyway at that point. I think the plan was for Abigail and Henry to get together but then Lori left. It was awkward because Henry then gave his redemption speech to Elizabeth instead. Now Henry has no purpose, no love interest, no longer the bad guy.
  18. The groups I see think she'll end up with Nathan because he's a Mountie and apparently in the books the teacher ends up with the Mountie. I think they could easily not go this route because she did marry the Mountie, they just immediately killed him off after the honeymoon. I think Elizabeth and Lucas have better chemistry and the character seems to actually care about Elizabeth. I don't think they've done a great job in pairing her with either one so far. Elizabeth and Jack had amazing chemistry but they took way to long to put them together, to the detriment of the other characters. The only other interesting couple is Lee and Rosemary but even their story has been stuck since they got married. Who cares about Clara and Jesse? I wonder if Lucas would've even been a possibility if Lori aka Abigail had stayed on the show. In those first few episodes of intro before the reshoots it looked like he was fairly shady with the guns hiding in the shipments, etc. Once Abigail was gone so was the dark side of Lucas. The worst couple is Carson and Faith. They had some chemistry before they were a couple and now it's just awkward and has been awkward since their first kiss. They should've written Faith off and brought in a new nurse. Ugh I hope Elizabeth ends up with Lucas, but this show is far from exciting so she'll probably choose sulky Nathan with built in babysitter Allie.
  19. Looking at other “heartie” groups people are melting down over Elizabeth not choosing her new true love in the first episode of the season. They’ve teased what the season is...it’s just the love triangle. She’ll or one of the two guys will make their choice in the finale, that’s how this works.
  20. She also posted that she and Ember went skiing but the conditions were too harsh for Bode so he and Jer stayed in the car... She wants Ember to know sometimes you have to ski in a blizzard and run marathons in 110 degree weather. Ok, but do you learn those lessons at 3? The kid just wanted her hard earned donut. If the mountain is shut down maybe a 3 year old shouldn’t be on it either?
  21. Auj just noted her engagement numbers were down 80% over the past couple weeks on Instagram. Perhaps since Bode went skiing and she admitted they wouldn’t get the Covid vaccine?
  22. There are 4 kids who should “inherit” parts of the farm. Even if the other three don’t want the farm, they should be bought out. I think it’s interesting they didn’t try to buy Amy’s portion, but honestly, I can’t see how they have the money. Or should I say Auj having the money, I’m pretty sure she does all the work. If her parents didn’t live next to farm I think they would’ve bolted back to Bend.
  23. This show is so bad! Love the Masked Singer but dancers can’t dance in these costumes. It’s just beyond awkward.
  24. Casting was odd, I don’t know if the girl who lost the first challenge (with the bear) was a beginner or just had a bad day but her work was way off everyone else’s. Chris did whatever he wanted and didn’t care when they called him on it, which why should he when they kept him way beyond when he should’ve left. Elliot was amazing the entire competition. Cat was out of her depth in the finale but her show was beautiful. There were other competitors that would’ve been more evenly matched against Elliot but they were eliminated too soon.
  25. I can’t figure out how Chris didn’t get eliminated in this one either. The shoes didn’t mold the socks and as another blower noted, he should’ve known how to make feet. I loved Nao’s basket I’m guessing the short length of time counted against her?
