  1. I think Suni is self conscious about her braces. They are new since the Olympics? Suni, tons of people have had braces, it’s painful, but no big deal.
  2. Love Derek as a judge, he gives comments that are helpful, because he’s been in their shoes before and he actually likes being there. How will Cody compete next week if he’s considered a close contact?
  3. Maybe Tyra’s outfit is inspired by a Covid test? Ugh
  4. I liked how Derek leaned around it when she was throwing to commercial.
  5. Can Tyra be voted off? Somehow the second outfit is worse?
  6. I really like Jojo’s joy in dancing and Jenna can match her enthusiasm. I do hope they start changing up the outfits a bit, I didn’t think they’d have them matching every week. Derek was right, she does lose some quality in the dance when she gets excited.
  7. I think Amanda deserved 9’s but I’m just glad Len didn’t give her a 7.
  8. I think Tyra must be designing her own costumes. Surely anyone else would’ve been fired for dressing her that way. Jimmie and Emma did a great job.
  9. Pasha and Christine’s dance was not better than Matt or Miz.
  10. Sharna and Brian didn’t really dance especially at the end.
  11. What’s up with Len? He looked frail in that opening number but handing out crazy low scores is bizarre.
  12. Are they kidding with 5’s for Matt? Does that mean Martin will get 2’s? Good grief, it wasn’t a great Samba but it wasn’t awful either. Lindsay was shocked. I am surprised to see the cast not wearing masks on the sidelines. With Cheryl positive I would think they’d take more precautions.
  13. I'm sure they had a Covid plan for the show, apparently they have to test every other day. I'm assuming that Cheryl didn't go to camera blocking yesterday if she was feeling sick in the morning. I can't see how Cody wouldn't be considered a close contact though, they've rehearsed probably everyday but yesterday for 3 hours without masks on. They did use dress rehearsal footage once in place of an actual performance in a past season but the dress rehearsal would be taking place today. This is a mess. Even if you have Cody dance with an alternate today and have them both masked, did anyone really sign up for that? You'd have to keep him completed isolated from everyone. I suspect there's going to be some cleaning protocol issues with rehearsal spaces too. They may have to go back to having everyone rehearse with masks. They may need to go back to having everyone isolate too, so many of them have been out on the town everyday. The only ones who seem to be isolating are the married couples and that's just from each other. A Covid case basically week one? What a mess.
  14. It was interesting that the judges hinted that Martin hadn’t been showing up to practice. Everyone only gets 3 hours a day. He looks really inflexible here but doesn’t in Cobra Kai. As for his age, there have been plenty older than him that have done well on the show. I thought Iman was underscored, he had better footwork than most of the men. Jojo was what I expected, I even wondered if Jenna slipped on purpose. I did wonder if they put her last in the lineup because they were worried or hopeful for ratings. Everyone but Martin seemed to have potential.
  15. What makes no sense to me about the 6-8 foot rule between teams and pros is that Whitney showed herself and her family going to Disneyland when she arrived in LA. Lindsay went to the mall with her family and out to eat over the past few weeks. The pros all live in the same apartment building, unless they live at home in LA. I believe the celebs would be out and about too. Either quarantine or don’t but don’t pretend that you are when you’re out on the town when you aren’t in rehearsal. Meanwhile, Emma and Sacha aren’t wearing their wedding rings…
  16. I think Joe felt like a small fish in a big pond in LA. Kendall was established there, they lived together for over a year. He went home for Christmas, came back and broke up with her. I think she was blindsided. They had just adopted a dog and Joe bolted. I think he had easier professional contacts in Chicago, but, he always seems lonely on his Instagram. Only since he’s been on the show has he shown himself out with people again.
  17. The breakup was so awkward!!!! That kiss was clearly a reunion kiss at the end of last season 2 years ago. And now they’ve corrupted it into a breakup kiss? I knew Jesse was leaving, they haven’t said why. Seems odd to leave 5 years in to a probable 7 year contract. I know he had a new murder mystery show. In the books Abby and Trace are THE couple. Giving Abby a new love interest isn’t going to change the tone or direction of the show.
  18. It looks like half the villas are front of house and half are back of house, including their two? I thought the placement of the pickleball court was bizarre in the middle of the villas, who wants to listen to their neighbors playing at all hours of the day? Especially when villas go for over $1000 a night. I really feel badly for Charlotte, taken away from her friends at a pivotal age (and being online with them for 3 years, isn't the same). Then she's left to room with them in the other villa? Couldn't they have carved out a little room for her or even put a bed/loft in her schoolroom area? I'd never have kids on their own in a foreign country at a resort. I thought it was interesting that they counted out Florida and quickly put in a kitchenette. I wonder if the idea is to have future hotel managers live in that villa. Reading the reviews of the resort, it's always windy and has biting sand flies, so it's hard to enjoy the beach, which explains the lack of beach chairs. People also think the pool could use a solar heater. Apparently the beach bar closes at sunset, so if you want a drink you need to go to the clubhouse. Initially their food offerings at dinner only offered a choice of two entrees, meat or fish. There doesn't seem to be a lot to do on the island itself, which they probably should've noticed there were no other resorts and the one they bought went out of business several times.
  19. I was satisfied with the winners, looking back the show had edited to show them a bit more. I didn't like the red door, that seemed pretty dated to me. I think adding the tiki bar and hammock under the house probably put them over the top of Alison's team, otherwise, they were pretty well tied. I hope Alison's team secured that outdoor wall better, it was crazy it fell in the first gust of wind. Ty's team had no chance once they decided in the first episode to keep the horrible paneling in the kitchen, most decisions after were bad. The black was ok on the exterior but the inside just felt like the same amount of money hadn't been spent as the other teams. Honestly, it looked like Ty on the inside, kind of a mess. I was shocked at the value of the homes. Unfinished at 650,000? Really? I expected between 3-400,000 finished.
  20. I think it's fine she had a Shower, what I find odd is that Molly isn't there? I get that she lives in Spokane, but you're mom getting married is a pretty big deal. Surely she could've taken a weekend off. I'm sure it's because the show is paying for it, but I find it the most odd that Amy and Chris are getting married at the farm. Her old marital home? Really? They literally could've afforded anywhere else, but no, it's got to be the farm, where her Ex still lives. That's not awkward at all.
  21. If they had done a trundle bed instead of the dumb sandbox they would’ve won. Nothing about Ty’s team’s room was a kid’s room. No railing on the bed? They’d be seriously injured no mattered what the age if they fell. His team was the only one that hadnt outright won a week though so they had to make it look like they were in the running. Painting the beach house black is going to knock them out anyway.
  22. What happens to these houses at the end of the show? Does HGTV turn them over with Holmes suggestions fixed? Slippery bathroom floors, unsealed countertops and wobbly railings are a recipe for a lawsuit. Will they have the teams actually fix these problems or sell them as is? I would guess they used slick tiles to save on budget, but they could've saved money by not tiling with dark tiles and gone with bigger tiles.
  23. This. Maybe they’ve renovated their own houses or one other house but they all seem to have no clue in what they are doing. Why did no one take advantage of the view in the living room? The sofas should be across from each other so you can look out at the view! Design 101 but Tanyia was the only one to acknowledge it. Ty was a “carpenter”for years on tv…he didn’t know to sand that armoire first? Is he ok? Seems like he’s done some hard living despite being in tv the better part of 20 years. He design skill is non existent here, I feel bad for his team who seems to have no ideas either. Leaving the gross paneling has cost them any hope of winning.
  24. I’ve no doubt the rentals featured on the show rent well because they’ve had the show’s publicity, but I find Scott’s estimates totally off the mark. Most units aren’t going to rent half of the year or more. There’s usually a 2-3 month high season (perhaps the owners would take a few weeks for themselves during that time) so you’re really looking at a couple of months income for the year. My family has vacation rentals (yes, remodeled and beautiful) on a beach and they are booked in high season. But will just sit in hurricane season. I wish he’d give more realistic estimates.
  25. I would guess there were Covid requirements to get everyone back like not tasting each other’s food and staying 6 feet apart. I’d rather have Sunny in studio than Alex… Perhaps there’s a medical reason Sunny is outside? Maybe it’s capacity? They couldn’t spread them out in the studio enough so just decided to keep Sunny out at the grill? I’m surprised Katie went back in, she’d been fairly isolated before. I enjoyed the show more from their home kitchens, it’s always been an awkward show.
