I would be perfectly happy with that!

The People's Court - General Discussion
Broderbits replied to Lillybee's topic in The People's Court
We don't know what happened in the girl's family to cause her mother to split with the stepfather; we don't know that there weren't accusations made earlier. There might even have been court proceedings, but all we know is they weren't made public here. She didn't really seem "accusatory" to me, just very sad. She agreed the money was owed, and even had the correct total except for the lawyer fee stepdad added on. And who wears shorts to court on national tv? -
The People's Court - General Discussion

That 2nd defendant was some kind of a nasty bitch! I didn't find anything the least bit funny about her attitude, so I didn't care for her laughing in the hall. Her ex is still paying off those pots and you just know she's not doing any cooking. If we could sue for "turmoil", I would be a millionaire! -

Re: Carlos Anthony, the show doesn't air here for another hour, but I checked some of his designs on Instagram and they look like what hookers would wear just lounging around waiting for customers. This should be a good episode of PC! -
I was going to say if you want the real story, read the book, except that's fiction too! However, it does explain things more clearly and makes much more sense than this claptrap.

I'm sure they were cast together for just this reason. There really isn't much drama this season; everyone seems to be getting along, at least compared to some of the cliques and meanies we've seen in the past. After all, we can't just focus on DESIGN now, can we? What fun would that be? The producers would get bored!

I agree completely! The changes they made have not helped the story one bit and some of them don't even make sense. Leaving out much of the background story just diminishes the characters.

I think this would have been better as a movie. There's too much boring filler that doesn't add to the suspense; now I just want it to be over.
-
It's what she wanted though - to die experiencing this with a male partner instead of her sister as surrogate. This mini-series has strayed so far from the book, I wonder what the author thinks.

The People's Court - General Discussion

I love how he doesn't let anyone get away with saying "the judge didn't let me talk" and other bull. So glad they brought him back to the show! -
When you wrote: Your personal beliefs are your own, over and out.
-
I have no bone to pick with you and no wish to change your mind about what you believe. People are different, what works for one may not work for another. In fact, you may not know as much about other people's sex lives as you think.
-
This may be true of some people, but it most certainly is not true of all who have these kinks. And for folks with stressful jobs and/or lots of responsibility it can provide a safe outlet and relief. Freud wasn't right about everything.
-
If you are having consensual sex with someone, and that person has not disclosed to you serious medical conditions that are exacerbated by physical activity, how are you responsible for their death? In fact there would have been witnesses to swear Magdalena and Cora hid her condition, and the doctors had given her mere days to live. Of course Frankie felt guilty (so much guilt in this book!) but her death was more suicide than anything else.

It looked to me like he was just trying to shoo it towards the open window, not hurt it.
-
At halfway through the book I don't think you would be spoiled, but you would have more insight into Cora's past and her thinking.
-
Without revealing anything spoilerish, let me just say whoever wrote the tv series added stuff that wasn't in the book and none of it makes any sense or adds to the story.
-
I don't like her either; that actress should have been cast as Cora's mother, she seems like playing a religious fanatic would be right up her alley. Speaking of Cora's mother, does it make sense that a crazy zealot like her, who thinks television is the devil's instrument, would allow her daughter to have a laptop and the internet? That really didn't make sense to me. I'm 3/4 of the way through the book, and this adaptation is not what I'm picturing at all.

Oh you young people with your slang! I can't keep up! It's back to the rocking chair for me.......
-
Well, the term "balling" means having sex, so that kind of stunned me too. Who wants to be on a team called "Having Sex on a Budget"? It was wonderful to have tiny little Maggie Q remind Weepy Twin that women of all sizes deserve fashion. Not that there's a lot of fashion going on with this season's crew; tonight's offerings were mostly boring. The winning dress was nice, but I thought "modest" meant no sleeveless garments.

Yeah, he's too busy being interested in himself! It's too bad Deran has no interest in taking care of Lena, since he's the only brother with some semblance of a "straight" life and a desire to maintain it. Pope better have Lena's money tied up in a trust that no one in the family can touch, especially Smurf(if she ever gets out of jail). I wouldn't give 2 cents for Lena's life if she stands between Smurf and money.

And for PR's very last season: the Dollar Store wall!
-
Oh he's probably sure that his "outrageous wit" and "scintillating personality" will force the producers to keep him on despite what any mere judges think about design skills. From past seasons we've learned that design skills are not necessarily what this show is looking for.
-
After Baz told Smurf what he wanted her to do, he was alone with Lena. Lena asked him if she could go with him when he left town because she heard him talking about it with Lucy. Since Lena was with Smurf after school, and he & Lucy were at his house, maybe he realized that the only way she could have heard that was if his house was bugged by Smurf. Hence the idea to drop a dime on Mom.

That's pretty much the way the entire firm operates. That consultant doesn't know how lucky she is to escape being a full-time employee.
