  1. Does anyone remember if they mentioned Ramon having a neurological workup to see if there was a physical cause for his visions? I'm pretty sure Audrey would've jumped right to schizophrenia because of her brother, but did they have him see any other doctors before Farid?
  2. I wonder if he would be able to sue the actual father for making those child support payments?
  3. Agree with you completely and admit that I am guilty of the same shoddy prep work ;-) At least I didn't overcharge myself!
  4. That last case was very interesting to me because I used DeckOver last spring to cover the hideous color the previous owners used on my deck, and it's peeling just like the plaintiff's photos. I freely admit to being a rank amateur at the job, but am disappointed in the quality of the product (plus it was a total pain in the ass to apply). It seems like the peeling is due to the thickness of the product - it's much thicker than stain or paint, kind of the consistency of instant grits. I can imagine the deck would have to be sanded for it to adhere properly. But it only cost me about $50 for materials; where does the defendant get off charging $3000 for a job like that? That's insane.
  5. I also survived a summer at church camp, not to mention good old Vacation Bible School! I don't think the Meyerist Elders should worry too much about people leaving the cult if the truth comes out about Steve; after all, Mormonism is still going strong despite (no offense) a very strange origin story and decades of polygamy. People willing to give up their own children to follow "the Light" aren't going to abandon their religion so quickly and will be eager to buy any spin that excuses Steve's abuse of Cal. Sarah was questioning way before she ever heard of Lilith. Russell's wife is even worse than he is: she's a nasty, snotty, holier-than-thou phony.
  6. Oh Judge Millian! You took that last plaintiff to task for slurring the word "mirror", but it drives me crazy when you add an extra syllable to "chimney". Heal thyself!
  7. Regarding 1st case defendant and 2nd case plaintiff, I'd like to know who they're trying to impress with such unfortunate designer label mania. They must think it makes them "classier", but as soon as they speak that idea is blown straight to hell. By all means go on national tv and let the world know exactly how stupid and petty you are, exactly the kind of mark the label business is looking for. Suckers!
  8. I once had a dog that actually enjoyed being vacuumed; he just thought of it as a new kind of petting. But Furby sweetheart, every cat I've ever known agrees with you: vacuum cleaners are monsters!
  9. This is sort of off-topic, but regarding one of the tire case defendants: can anyone explain to me the significance of those button-style earrings? Are guys who wear them trying to make large holes in their earlobes? I have long wondered about this. I didn't watch the child's remains case, but reading the comments here has made me realize I need to do something with my husband's ashes before I die and my kids find the box. It's ok if they remember me as nutty, just not nutty in that way.
  10. I agree with this. The contractor was definitely sub-par, but apparently he did install the smoke detectors. It's not his fault she wasn't capable of changing the battery without getting hurt. To quote Dirty Harry, "a man's got to know his limitations"; and that goes for women too.
  11. Ok, 1st case defendant: if you want to use "big" words like myriad, please learn how to pronounce it correctly. Geesh.
  12. Tonight would have been a good time to start a drinking game featuring the word Wisconsin. I understand that the wife had lived her entire life in Wisconsin and they only moved to Nashville for the husband's dream job, but geez she got on my last nerve wanting exactly what she had there and never letting us forget it. The house they bought looked very nice inside after the remodel but the outside resembled a prison to me.
  13. I think this was another example of MM showing sympathy for women having disappointments during one of those "sacred" milestones in the life of females: weddings, sweet sixteens, and prom. That horrible plaintiff had already been married for a long time and gets no sympathy from me because she wanted a fancy church wedding (although fancy wedding and balloon centerpieces are mutually exclusive in my mind). Can you really be considered a Bridezilla if you don't stuff yourself into a strapless gown that's 2 sizes too small?
  14. We have Tim Horton's in Upstate NY, don't know about NYC. This is the first time I've watched since being so disappointed by episodes 1 & 2, and I'm completely done now. It's not even worth the time to fast forward through.
  15. Of course that (former) employee needed to repay the money, but the plaintiff's decision to play parent seemed weird. Maybe it's just me. I wonder if he's done that with other employees and I wonder what his real son thought about the situation.
  16. My brain was screaming "body double" during those scenes! The female nudity just looks so ........impersonal and generic; but damn, Kinnaman is fine (no disrespect to Purefoy, one of my long-time crushes).
  17. I thought the defendant was using "dude" for the plaintiff during her testimony, not the judge. As in "I said to him, Dude......". You're right about MM being extra nice to litigants she thinks are cool or cute, but it doesn't affect her judgements. Being hip does not get you off the hook in a contracts case.
  18. Yes, no bread for us peasants; but perhaps some vegan cake? Who would take nutrition advice from an inarticulate television actress other than the kinds of people who take medical advice from a centerfold model?
  19. The stupid was strong in that one! He did lots of research, but AFTER buying the board. He's lucky MM found in his favor, because I wouldn't have given him one red cent.
  20. I would have told him to pay $1000 because that's probably what the old rotting doors were actually worth. Also, Pella is a very well-respected company and dealing directly with them might have worked out better for the plaintiff providing she had original documentation for the doors. Then again, someone who takes such atrocious care of their home probably wouldn't keep paperwork. Defendant in the 2nd case was one obnoxious creep!
  21. I have to disagree most heartily with Andrew Sullivan's assertion that Dems would be shunning MLK because of his faith. Reasonable, thinking people have problems with so-called "Christians" who just want to impose their paternalistic narrow-minded beliefs on everyone else to make themselves feel "blessed" and superior, not with those who are called to help others. He's more or less equating MLK's Christianity with that of the Westboro Baptist church, and that's a very ignorant position to take. I did agree with the final New Rule. Things are getting a little crazy out there in Movie Star Me Too land, and Gillibrand will never get my vote for anything.
  22. This is an excellent point. The only people I felt sympathy for were the passengers on that plane; the co-pilot had absolutely no business involving them in her problems and putting their lives in danger. She should have listened to her sister and pressed charges when the rape happened, or at the very least gotten herself some counseling if she couldn't bear to leave that job.
