  1. There's actually not a lot of filler in HxH at all. I know it seems that way because it has so many episodes, but the manga is actually longer than the anime, so the 2011 anime sticks to canon material and not filler. The only filler episodes I can think of off the top of my head are the recap episodes and there are only a few of those. I watched the entire series multiple times and I will say I didn't like the first 3 episodes much. In fact I'm not crazy about the whole first arc (though it has its good moments.) But HxH is one of my all time favorite series. It gets better and better as it progresses.
  2. Rachel had her baby: http://www.inquisitr.com/3005488/big-brother-alums-rachel-reilly-and-brendon-villegas-announce-baby-name-birth-story-and-baby-pictures/
  3. I assume that Jessica made the condition that if Louis wanted to hang out with Toni he could only do it at the lesbian bar where her friends could keep an eye on him.
  4. I hope that they don't get together, but I'm sure they will since this is TV. I don't like the message it sends - that if a girl says she's not interested, just keep pursuing her and if you keep at it long enough her feelings will magically change and she'll fall for you. Messages like that pave the way for women to be harassed in real life by people they've already rejected. Then men say "women are such a mystery!" when -shockingly- it doesn't turn out like on TV or in the movies. When I say no I mean no, not "try again later." I imagine it's the same for many people. I've seen too many situations in real life where someone said she wasn't interested and the guy kept pursuing her. It didn't end in romance, it ended up with the women being stressed out and miserable. I know it's just a sitcom and it's not that serious, but this type of situation isn't cute or humorous for me. I still like the show a lot, but I'm waiting in dread for the episode where Erica changes her mind. (Also just to note, I also don't like it when women in shows relentlessly pursue a man who already rejected her either. But in general from what I've that's less likely to be treated seriously or end in a successful relationship.)
  5. This week was so great. I wish we could have Steven episodes every week! I think for me my favorite part was seeing two new Pearls. I really liked both of them, Blue Pearl was beautiful and intriguing and Yellow Pearl was hilarious. It's interesting how so far the only gems we've seen on homeworld that have any sort of variety are the Pearls, but not because of their own individuality, it's because they were custom made for their owners. Seeing how Peridot became a Crystal Gem was a highlight. I was worried they were going to go down a "she wants to betray them but then the power of friendship stops her and they all accept her with open arms" route. It's more refreshing to see that it was all just a misunderstanding and she was trying to save the planet in her own way.
  6. I loved seeing that blue Pearl, she was really cute! I think this was one of the best episodes yet. Cotton candy Garnet was also adorable.
  7. Bleh. I don't like this but I hope they treat it with respect (I don't have much hope.) I don't like how they treated Sheldon's lack of sex drive like it was some kind of deficiency and something he had to overcome.
  8. Maybe she suspects that Kara has a Death Note.
  9. This episode made me a bit sad that we didn't have a pool in my school. I would have taken swimming over 100% of the other activities we did in gym, since I swim for recreation. The coach telling them that they would have to swim for the rest of the year would have been like a dream come true for me.
  10. Boo. Another disappointing finale. What a surprise.
  11. 1) Who were your 5-7 favorite characters? Ben, Shannon, Boone, Jin, Miles 2) Who were your 5-7 LEAST favorite characters? CHARLIE, Claire, Ana Lucia, Sawyer until s5, Kate (I don't hate her but I never got what was so great about her, and her flashbacks were dull) 3) How would you rank the seasons from favorite to least favorite? 5, 1, 4, 3, 2. I'm not sure where 6 falls on here because I haven't gotten to 6 in my rewatch yet and I don't feel like I remember it well enough to make a judgement on it. 4) What were your 10(ish!) favorite episodes? Any episode with little Ben were my favorites. So his flashback episode, then the one where he got shot and the two episodes after that. I liked Hearts and Minds a lot because it was one of the few flashback episodes for Boone and Shannon we got. The Constant was really good too. I can't really think of any others off the top of my head. 5) What were your favorite actual/would-be romantic relationships? You know, it's funny but I didn't really love any romantic couples on this show. When I was younger and this show was airing I liked Boone/Shannon a lot, but when I rewatched I ended up not liking it as much. I found it creepy when Boone was staring at her and Sayid on the beach and when he kept trying to get Sayid to go away. I get that he was jealous, but yikes. I didn't really have any strong feelings towards these couples, but I also like Desmond/Penny, Jin/Sun, Juliet/Sawyer. 6) What were your LEAST favorite romantic relationships? Charlie/Claire, I've stated my feelings about this couple before so I won't get into it too much, but to me it felt like Charlie latched on to Claire and refused to be pried away no matter how much she told him to go away and leave her alone. Eventually it was like the writers just gave up and had her return his feelings for no real reason. I didn't like Sayid/Shannon much when I was younger, but now I'm ok with it. 7) What were your favorite friendships/frenemyships/non-romantic relationships? Kate/Cassidy (well until Cassidy started saying "you took Aaron to heal your broken heart!" Really?? That was awful and cringeworthy. But other than that they were pretty solid.) Ben/Locke (well, they weren't even frenemies but I loved how they played off of each other), Ben/Richard, Ben/Hurley, Sawyer/Jin, Sawyer/Miles. Ugh I wish there were more female duos to pick from.
  12. Sawyer is a good character to watch, but I didn't think much of him in the first two and a half seasons honestly. He's the type of person who would have driven me crazy if I had actually been on the island with him and I had to listen to him whine about people taking "his stuff" over and over. His character growth thankfully saved him from being a flat bad-boy type character and he dramatically improved later on.
  13. I'm rewatching the series for the first time (I watch an episode per night so it's a long process! Right now I'm halfway through season 3.) The thing that surprised me the most was how little Ana Lucia bothered me this time around. When I first watched the show I hated her with a passion. This time around I actually felt a little sorry for her and then she was gone. She was just barely a blip on the radar in the Lost universe. I don't remember why I disliked her so much. But I have to agree with you guys, I hate Charlie. I didn't have a strong opinion on him first watch through (he was just kind of there, sometimes responsible for boring filler episodes but other than that forgettable.) The thing that I hate most about him is that he kind of just attached himself to Claire and it stuck. They were kind of cute together in the beginning, but then he started lecturing her about how to take care of her baby like he was the baby's dad (and Claire complained they were "playing house" but she never agreed to it.) She started wanting her space from him and then the drug thing and baby kidnapping happened and she didn't want him around at all. But no, her feelings about it didn't matter at all, and he just kept coming near her over and over. Ugh. Then it seems like the writers discarded her feelings completely in s3 and had her forget about everything that happened s2. They have no chemistry together. Charlie is an annoying and somewhat possessive asshole. There was a moment in s3 where Desmond was trying to give Claire CPR and Charlie kept trying to interrupt and I just wanted to scream.
  14. Still doing my rewatch. I got to the episode where Shannon died last night. Right before she went, she was crying to Sayid and told him once they got off the island, he would leave her. He promised her that he would never leave her. I guess he was a man of his word!
  15. Hm, that may be the case a lot of times. But there was a point when she was helping Sayid with the maps and he said something to her and she blew up at him about it and made a comment about everyone thinking she was useless. That made me think that it might have been getting to her and she really did want to be helpful but she didn't know if she could. To me, she seemed self conscious about trying to help because she was worried she would fail at it. ymmv though!
  16. I wish they had done more with Shannon. I liked that despite how much she acted like she didn't care, being called useless bothered her and so she tried in her own way to be useful, though it usually took a lot of prodding before she agreed. I'm rewatching s1 and I'm actually surprised by how involved she was. She went to find the radio tower with the group and later she was helping Sayid with the maps. She could have had a nice story outside of any romance, but once Boone was killed off I knew it was over for her because they weren't going to keep bringing the actor back for her flashbacks. It's too bad, she had a lot of potential.
  17. They did, but then they brought him home and I think those Amish boys built him some snow protection? I don't remember too well.
  18. You would think that after a while it would run out of jelly and could fill itself up with water.
  19. My brother got some of those "modeling pics," except he was a toddler when it happened. Instead of super modeling apparently it was for advertisements and stuff. We still have the pictures from it, they actually turned out pretty nice, but obviously it was a scam.
  20. On The Middle tonight, there was a debate over whether King Moonracer was a toy or not a toy. So I was curious to see what you guys think - toy or not? (I think he's not, for the record.)
  21. I always feel so bad for the bird who swims at the end of Rudolph. The elf, not knowing the bird's circumstances, shoves it off the sleigh with no umbrella. I hope it learns to fly fast.
  22. I'd like to see Wicked on TV some day. It was one of the few musicals I saw in person and I liked it a lot. It might be boring for kids though, I don't know.
  23. As someone who hated gym class (and also graduated in 2006!) I actually liked dodgeball because once you were hit you could go sit out. My friends and I would all get hit on purpose at the beginning of the game and then sit down and chat on the sidelines. It was nice, like a free period to relax.
