  1. As soon as I saw those stacked biscuits I thought she was in trouble, remembering Enwezor’s. I’m glad she didn’t go home though.
  2. Really? Then I need to get me that package too ! 😉. I had no idea who Dapper Don was either but then I am not that demographic at all.
  3. Please accept this virtual hug! I need one too.
  4. I think he is such a phenomenal actor and I really hope he continues even though he has a lot of side things going on like the brewery Yes! I need to see his gorgeous face and accomplished acting regularly. Sad day.
  5. I so do not want them to die at the end of the run! Maybe just drive off into the sunset!
  6. I love when Artem calls her "Ronald." That cracks me up. I think he might have called her other variations of that name too.
  7. Jason: 'I didn't get into heaven to go to school.' Eleanor : 'You didn't get into heaven AT ALL, shirt-for-brains!' I love the 'cursing' on this show.
  8. I teach cake decorating at Michaels in the SF Bay Area, and Payton (pizza boy) started taking classes from me! He is a really cool kid and I am going to ask him details about his experience on the show. /claim to fame. These kids shows are mostly delightful for me, even though they sound scripted and sound bite-ish. I hate it when the adult show are bickering and backstabbing.
  9. Absolutely agree! It's so refreshing among other reality shows, and not those just confined to cooking or baking.

Totally agree to all of this, and I'd like to add that, for me, Lenny brings his brilliant nuanced acting skills to really make this character believable and sympathetic. I so root for him, and when he reappeared this third time, by the "No Sanctuary" altered sign, I excitedly yelled out, "Morgan!" That was so awesome and unexpected. Also, I find it heartbreakingly poignant that both Morgan and Rick still wear their wedding rings. This episode was so thrilling! My friends and I (hi, Julie!) were yelling at the tv nearly the whole time. Go, Carol ! Still don't care a fig for Enid.
  11. Yay! I just noticed it was on Netflix today and ran over here to make sure everyone knew! It's UK Season 5 meaning US Season 1 (Martha, Nancy, Norman, Chetna, etc). Whoever with TPTB decided to call it season 1 for US airings just is a dope. Also, I got mostly caught up watching the prior seasons on You Tube, and noticed that the US versions have all the (to me) delightful historical bits edited out. For those not in the know, Mel and Sue go on jaunts telling the histories of the cupcake, digestive biscuits, and other goodies. Jeez, I just adore this show. It's such a refreshing concept for reality competition and I never want anyone to go home!
  12. Usually if I'm not engaged a few chapters in then I will discard it. There are so many books in my TBR pile that I can't waste time! I created a category in Goodreads for 'did not finish' too. My county's library system is so comprehensive that I am very fortunate that I don't have to buy too many books only to be disappointed that they were dud purchases. :D
  13. If it hadn't been a libary book, I would have ripped up, thrown across the room, burned, and then burned the ashes of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. I didn't finish it, my loathing was so great. Nor did I complete 50 Shades.. (that one just bored me). :D
  14. Amazingly, I am only reading one book right now: I usually have a couple going. It's David McCullough's The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris. Basically it's about Americans in the early 19th century traveling to Paris to study medicine, art, and culture. I love this author and have ready several of his books. And since he has done tv documentaries, I hear his voice when I read the material. :)
  15. Not that I am an English major but I read a lot, and misuse of words or mispronounciation drives me batty. For example, when people add another ' i ' to mischievous to make it mischievious. 'Volumptuous' rather than the correct 'voluptuous.' Oy! I work with some folks who say 'pacific' when they mean 'specific.' A lot of it is mis-hearing and some is education obviously: our dear friend used to say 'six of one as it is the other.' Man, we ribbed her hard, but now we say it around each other just to be silly.
  16. Quote from the episode The Pirate Solution: Leonard: Ive always been a little confused about this. Why don't Hindus eat beef? Raj: We believe cows are gods. Sheldon: Not technically. In Hinduism, cattle are thought to be like God. Raj: Do not tell me about my own culture, Sheldon! In the mood I'm in, I'll take you out, I swear to cow! Raj cracks me up here!
  17. Thanks for the Brianna links. If you can link the Roger ones, I will love you forevah !
  18. Well, I wonder if they will release the first 1/2 of season 1 on dvd ? Bizarre!
  19. In the preview for next week, I thought it was a neat idea to show how despondent Frank was. However, I think the editors of the clip ruined the element of surprise and hope (especially for non-book readers) in showing that really, the woman only led Frank down an alley so her accomplice could wallop him one, and probably pinch his wallet.
  20. And since several of us HERE noticed the bad posture, why didn't the * professional * judges, and give her that feedback?! Ye gawds, that is what bugs me about this show sometimes; give more positive, helfpul, * constructive * feedback (especially in the first week), and stop with some of the other nonsensical comments. Sheesh.
  21. IMO, 'ombre' is just French for 'grow out.' I kind of liked her dress. She appealed to me more as a dancer than judge though. Please go home, Michael. Re the 'fetch' comment; very apropos for THIS season ! ;)
  22. magdalene . ... I too subscribed just because of Outlander, as I am certain many fans did as well. I have DirecTv and got the first 3 months free! Hopefully we will hear some good news about Season 2 soon. Imagining what they will do with those storylines is thrilling to me!
  23. WatchrTina - you are so funny! I'm fairly certain Jamie yells 'TULACH ARD!' which is the warcry of the clan MacKenzie. I discovered the books in 1992, and have not looked back with regret once. Gabaldon is one of my all-time favorite authors. I do like your translation; very apropos. ; ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_Mackenzie
