  1. Now that I’ve calmed down a bit, but I’m still going to swear. I effin hate KM (she does not deserve to have her name spelled out) : ugly on the inside and out, indecipherable word garbage, muddy makeup, and lazy & sloppy looks. And I thought Silky was one of the worst... Loved Olivia’s disco outfit and attitude. I’m glad she won. Ronald McDonald can leave anytime. Gottmik should have been in the bottom. That was a ridiculous “outfit.“ Utica needs to practice her movements in front of a mirror because they are like a clumsy praying mantis on speed. I’d like to see Tamisha again.
  2. Love when the show has tons of looks in one episode. Some were very basic and boring though so that was a bummer. Kandy in Untucked exhausted me and I really thought she was going to stroke out. She cannot go away soon enough. Typical delusional narcissist. Anyone who says they’ve never sewn before should get immediately eliminated. There is a sewing challenge every season, FFS. Have they not been watching for the last decade plus? I was hoping this season would be less ridiculously melodramatic but I guess not. I am unhappy with Tina siding with the unpleasant Kandy. Snarky Tina reminds me of what we might have seen from Sherry Pie, had she not revealed herself to be a horrible human being. Honestly for me, I forget all these queens, until I watch a new episode. I miss ladies like Monet and Nina.
  3. Ru is really putting them through it this year but then I had a crazy thought: what if the Pork Chop group is actually not really? Maybe they’re actually Ru’s favored group and it’s just a mind F experiment? The shaaade ! I like this second group a bit better. Can’t stand Kandy Muse’s indecipherable expostulations. Kahmora better get a timer and a watch: that was really unprofessional making them wait. Also, she is a beauty and so are her costumes , but just a bit boring. Ru’s new nose makeup is silly and distracting, imo.
  4. Ah, thank you! I knew it was a faster version of the song I knew, but I couldn’t figure out what this was. So far I like the series. I am on episode three now but I’m going to do a rewatch and relish it. I love the gorgeous costumes, even the crazy costumes, most of the hair, the sets, and production design. I’m very happy and satisfied. I want to do the re-watch before going forward because I’m trying to get all the characters names and faces memorized. The only main actor I recognized was Polly Walker whom I love. I like seeing new faces, particularly the Duke of Hastings!
  5. I agree with everything you said here, I just edited it down. And for Pete’s sake, I wish they would not do an ice cream challenge at all during the summer. It’s so stupid and everything is always melting and disappointing. Or give them two days. It’s so frustrating!
  6. When you go to watch the older seasons on Netflix USA, start with the one called Beginnings. That is their season three. And then go to Collections : the first one is their season four. Watch Masterclass with Mary and Paul AFTER watching this episode. And for Holidays, I would suggest waiting until you seen all the seasons except this latest one. They needed to give them more time for the lemon pud: it looked really unappetizing to me. Even the example needed to be decorated in an appealing someway.
  7. Why did they do a series montage in a penultimate episode? I was so confused about that. And was John even in it?
  8. I have noticed the same thing. I loved watching the Two Fat Ladies series and it cracked me up that Clarissa pronounced the “j” in jalapeño as hard, like jail, and disregarded the tilde, so it ended as “peeno.” Heh. I enjoyed this week though the technical was vomit-inducing for me. It didn’t look appealing and I hate white chocolate and also Matcha. It looked like something out of a 1950s bizarre party cookbook where they used wieners and Jell-O together .
  9. When we can safely travel again, I’m coming over! That all sounds so delish delosh. Costco used to sell hand-held pasties and they were amazing. I really enjoyed this episode. Sorry for Linda but that was a mess.
  10. I have some Ghirardelli brownie mix that I need to bake off! How much espresso powder do you put in yours? I can’t remember if the recipe calls for water but subbing leftover coffee would be good too. However I think the recipe calls for oil as the liquid. The whole brownie Signature was such an epic fail, I felt bad for them. I don’t think that’s ever happened on Bake Off before. I really really hope that Pastry week is successful! I need to remember to not read anything on the Internet until after I watch it on Friday. I got spoiled with the elimination results last Tuesday.
  11. An article I read a few years ago and said that the crew also partakes in the bakes. I’m sure everybody avoids the uncooked ones though. Don’t want to get sick!
  12. I wonder if you could buy or make some caramel and swirl it onto the batter, and then bake it off? That might be really good! This week was a bummer. Hopefully they’ll all do better next week.
  13. Wow, that was super sad. I don’t think a Signature has ever been so disastrous as this one was. I felt bad for them. I need (knead) babke in my life. Heh. White chocolate needs to go far away, in my opinion. The only thing it is good for is decoration. When this naked cake fad is over I will be so happy. It’s always just looked absolutely lazy to me. Sorry to see Sura go. I’m rooting for them all except Dave as he gives me a weird vibe. Like another commenter said, I too can probably count on one hand the bakers over the years with whom I didn’t connect.
  14. Thanks for the recipe! The concerns that I had had on previous ones were the setting out overnight at room temp, which I thought was weird. I like that they give an Instant pot recipe. This show saves my sanity as well. That is why I keep re-watching all the collections on Netflix.
  15. The blueberry exchange was fun. At first I didn’t take the Lottie but I really like her on rewatches. Loreia’s admitted mishmash accent was interesting but I like Hermine’s too, along with her demeanor and attitude. Actually, I like them all, as usual. Loving Matt’s easy friendliness with the contestants. Mmmm, soda bread! So quick and satisfying! I love all the crunchiness on the outside. Another recipe you can try, if you like it, is making clotted cream. I’ve never had the bravery to do it, but maybe someday. I’ve made a no-knead sourdough before that came out nicely. Lots of recipes out there. I would give that one a try if you’re interested since it’s a bit simpler. Man, I live for bread! I am so thankful they were able to figure out how to bring the show around this year. I really needed it.
  16. Like many breads, homemade ones are the best I think. I’ve never liked store-bought focaccia (too oily) or ciabatta (no flavor, too floury). We made them in culinary school and they were magnificent! Generally I really loved the way the rainbow bagels looked. I missed the day in school where we made bagels but might try these someday.
  17. Thank you for taking the time to link all these recipes and articles. I really appreciate it!
  18. Noel used “off-piste” last week. The only reason I know that is I couldn’t understand what he said so I rewound, put the CC on, and watched it again. Heh. My friend has some ruby chocolate that she bought from Trader Joe’s and I’m hoping to get a couple of nibs to try. Until Priya used it last year, I had never heard of it either, so I am fascinated.
  19. I am in the US and the same thing happened to me with the Boris bit. It wasn’t there yesterday but it was there today when I rewatched. Very strange! I so love my show back!
  20. So I waited til the season was over to watch this during my free Epix run. For the most part I liked it. What bothers me partially is that Lady Brockenhurst never apologized to Mrs. Trenchard for calling the daughter a slut, after she found out the truth (unless I missed it). Also, I wish they had used a different composer: that long violin stroke is pure Downton Abbey. Loved all the costumes, sets, acting. If there is going to be a season two, I will definitely check it out.
  21. Well, I’m bummed that the series is over and that this was the final show. I really thought with the trajectory that the last show was going to be the most fantastic. But it didn’t totally work for me. They really should have made last week’s show the finale. And like many, I only knew about three or so of all the people in the series. I do have to give it up to especially the straight guys for wanting to participate in a challenge like this. I enjoyed that.
  22. Oh my gosh, I was beyond thrilled to see Vanessa Williams! I absolutely adore her and think she’s gorgeous. I knew of Lonnie but not the other gal but I am so excited that they were thrilled to be there. Loni looked a bit like Latrice Royale to me. LOL. I loved how emotional she was. I really thought that she was going to be the winner because it seemed to be telegraphed that way to me. I think it’s wonderful that women are being involved in this and I hope it also is an annual event, as another poster hoped.
  23. Well this was very satisfying for me and it’s definitely the way to do a spin off properly (stink eye to Making the Cut. I know it’s not really a spin off of Project Runway but I think you get my meaning.) I was bummed that they had a contestant with drag experience but oh well. What amazingly generous prizes! And I thought it was wonderful that the bottom two’s charities also received a donation. ETA. I hope we get at least a B list celebrities . That would be kind of fun. These fellas are totally on familiar to me.
  24. So peeved that Castiel cock-blocked Sam and Eileen. Heh. I thought the sheriff was hilarious. Loved all the ‘inside’ jokes. Jensen is beyond beautiful and I always enjoy his acting, and now singing. I need to check out his album. That monster was really creepy-looking to me. I must be really naïve because I did not see it coming, the friend being the bad guy. ETA: the crack about Castiel acting very Russian. Loved it.
