Love him or hate him, Adam Rippon is having the time of his life being here, and his excitement is so much fun to watch. I hope he will skate well.

I heard that it was too cold and windy to hold some events today. I wonder what it will be like on Monday (or Tuesday)? The time difference is mixing me up. Saw on the news that skiers are putting tape on their noses to help ward against frost bite. Is this a normal thing, or some new invention because of the cold here?

Where are the rest of the US team? I don't see any other skaters in the USA box.

I want the shib sibs to skate terrifically. I truly think they should medal; their short dance, I think, is fabulous.

Since you've all turned me onto the sound of bad ice....have they muted the blades on ice mics? I feel like I haven't heard a peep really; did they resurface the ice during a break?

I am sure the number crunchers were gnawing away the second Nathan made a mistake I wonder what lift/transition the shibs/brady tennel will be doing now. And I think people are glad Rippon is going for a clean skate (no quad), especially since the ice is so bad. (wonder what they will do to fix it).

So....how does one know that the ice is bad (other than so many people splatting on it)? What is the criteria?

I'd like to see a big overhaul, with more emphasis put on skills other than jumping, and no bonuses for jumping later in the program. Just saw Lipinskya's programs in the team event, and while I know nothing about her jumping technique, her spins/layback positions were jaw dropping. I bet she would have taken the gold in the individual event if she had not skated in the team event- it must have exhausted her.

"Rode hard and put away wet" was added to my lexicon because of this show. My sex ed class was in our biology class. We had classes, etc, and then culminated with a two hour scientific movie (how they got cameras in places I will never know). When it was all over, there was dead silence. I suspect that film caused major abstinence and/or use of safer sex amongst my high school. I don't like season two so far; not enough Logan and Veronica. Way too much Duncan.

Dead Scott’s Mom (Beverly HIlls 90210) was on last night! Awwww. Good episode, I thought. Mina being bad-ass, Conrad feeling the feelings (since his actions caused the ER shortage/firings that led to the massive ER chaos), Nic suspicious of the Cancer Specialist. I haven’t figured out kind of malpractice/fraud the doctor is committing, but I look forward to seeing how it plays out.

Huh. I'd have the shibs do their short for the team event so as to save energy. I am guessing, though, that the USIOC (or whoever is in charge of US Skating) will have the final say. And it seems like most people out there don't think much of the Team Event.
