  1. I think writers left before they came on board, too. I remember reading that writing for a show like Supernatural is a good springboard to moving on to write for bigger shows (bigger budgets/networks, etc). I would agree that it's quite possible they are especially eager to move on, given some of the issues that have been mentioned.
  2. I think that 'CW' may stand for Cage Wars, but I could be wrong. That's what I was wondering, too. Soccer requires lots of mobility, and although Jared has certainly shown he can run long distances, the damage he's incurred from skiing and whatnot may make his knees iffy for quick turns and off-balance kicks. Since (as I recall) some of that damage was done skiing when his contract said he wasn't allowed to, he may not want to risk aggravating old injuries that could impact on filming. Just idle musing on my part.
  3. In one of the press interviews, didn't Jensen say that while Jared said you couldn't please everyone, he himself couldn't imagine people having a problem with the ending? Paraphrasing, here. It's possible that reading the last scenes just made it really clear to him that the show was ending, and he hadn't anticipated feeling quite so bereft. He said something about not understanding why he felt the way he did, which is why he called Eric and Bob. Just speculating, obviously.
  4. Given how important Jensen and Jared have said it is to them to have the show end well, I can't see Jensen shrugging off an ending he doesn't like in the final season. I suspect that maybe he didn't think the ending had been earned in the discussion of how the season will go. Hopefully the clarification he got from Kripke and Bob Singer was sufficient to alleviate those worries, although I hope he keeps a wary eye on what's going on in the writers' room.
  5. Isn't their availability based on their contract, which I assume is already in place? Can they work more hours than they are contracted for, if they so choose? I have no idea how this works. Don't get me wrong; I would love to see a return to the early days. But with their families and other commitments, I'm just not sure how realistic that is.
  6. As much as I agree that the focus of the last season should be on Sam and Dean, there is still the reality that they only work a few days a week. It's very hard to maintain a story line that is about people who aren't in 40% (roughly) of the scenes. If it's about them, but it's Cas and/or Jack doing the actual on-screen stuff, is that going to satisfy people?
  7. He also seemed to be about the only one wearing long sleeves, which surprised me since he's said he tends to sweat even in winter. I'm sorry his run got cut short; hopefully his injury isn't serious.
  8. So there are unconfirmed reports that Jared had to withdraw after 5 hours due to an ankle injury. He is listed as withdrawn at the Broug St Pierre checkpoint on the race's website. Doesn't give a reason.
  9. I thought they were slated for the Empty? (Although what I thought that was and Dabb's interpretation are very different.)
  10. I've got to confess that I had hoped that Jared and Jensen would be a little more involved with the development of the season story line and series conclusion than the 'couple of hours' they spent with Dabb and the writers would seem to suggest. I think there will be a lot of disappointment if they simply told them what they'd like to see and now are trusting them to deliver it.
  11. Me either. I obviously don't know the guy, but he always looks so content in the pictures with his family. With his anxiety issues, I wouldn't blame him for wanting to kick back and enjoy some time with them. I think that Jensen, on the other hand, will be looking (or maybe already is) for the next good opportunity to act or direct. He seems a lot more driven than Jared. Just different personalities. I truly hope they both get what they want.
  12. Agreed. I thought the Zanna one had some of the best comedy in that entire season. Good casting, too.
  13. Mostly the color. To me, it just looks like something someone would wear as a bet . . . or if they lost one. Especially the pants. I don't pretend to be remotely on top of fashion, however.
  14. Bold and fearless, I'll give you. Just looks garish to me, but different tastes for different folk obviously.
  15. I don't usually get into the writers/producers like or hate one character more, but I have to agree that this video - if this is it in its entirety - is totally blowing off Dean and Jensen, which is nuts. And insulting, given what a super job Jensen did playing Michael. As for the Sam stepping up story line, I think they screwed that up too. Just because they gave it lip service doesn't make it so.
  16. I (unexpectedly) kind of liked it. Probably because based on the previews, I had expected it to be one of those times where first Sam and Dean argue about what needs to be done, then Dean does the hard/ugly thing while Sam shrieks 'no, no!'. Admittedly Sam did yell 'No!', but it was at least partly based on what he had gained through his talk with Chuck, not simply because he disagreed. They were on the same page when they confronted Chuck which was nice. I liked the way the end was filmed except for the last few seconds where they were overwhelmed with zombies - it would have been more suspenseful if they had cut while they were still closing in, and I liked the music that went along with the end scene. I also liked that Cas seemed to be growing more of a backbone (pretty much out of nowhere, admittedly). Does it all make sense? Probably not. I'm just going to try not to think about it. The total lack of discussion about Michael and Lucifer also seemed rather odd. One problem they've had over the years is going up against increasingly big bads, against whom realistically they should have had no chance. I think they just raised the ante well beyond what they should be able to cover, but whatever. Carry on, indeed.
  17. I think his lack of sincerity and understanding is what enabled Sam and Dean to go through with locking him up. I suspect it would have been a lot harder if he had begged for their forgiveness and demonstrated that he truly understood what a terrible thing he had done. I hated the wake, with all the relics of Saint Mary. But that's just me. They surprised me twice. Once with Castiel taking such quick action to eliminate Duma, and secondly with it being Sam that convinced Jack to climb into the box. So there's that.
  18. I agree with those who think Jack will end up in the Malak box, with Dean taking the role of Abraham, but I figure God/Chuck will step in at some point to make the sacrifice unnecessary. Hopefully he'll take Jack up to Heaven or something.
  19. Me too! That's a spin off I would have watched.
  20. Trying to make Mary more relatable via flashbacks is almost insulting. And even then, they can't manage a single flashback of her giving Dean some kind of positive reinforcement? I swear, this is the most tone-deaf set of writers/show-runner I can ever remember.
  21. Sam didn't know Amy personally. He spent a couple of hours with her one afternoon. Didn't Amy kill her mother to save him? It's been awhile so my recollection might be wrong. If she did, though, I can see him thinking she was a good person/monster.
  22. Do they still make Jiffy Pop popcorn? I haven't seen that stuff in years.
  23. He had the same attitude with Brady, back when Crowley and Dean trapped him if I recall.
