They put the baby between a wrapped gift and the Nativity pillow which represents the gift of Jesus to the world. That bow is huge, but looks more comfortable for the baby than the ones Lauren uses.

I have a big extended family. When I was younger, I enjoyed seeing everyone. I still enjoy seeing most of the family, but it gets more overwhelming the older I get. I bet a lot of the kids like Jill and Jinger with smaller families of their own start to find the TTH overwhelming when they go back. One of my family members grew up in a larger family and even she gets overwhelmed in all the chaos of her large family now. I always got the sense Jill was quieter anyway. If there is some estrangement between Jill and the rest of her family, I feel a little bad for Jill. JB and Michelle deserve it. I doubt they missed her with all the chaos. Jessa is a lot like her parents although so are Joy and Austin. I get the sense Jessa might change if the show goes away and the money dwindles down, she'll change.

I agree with everyone else that this baby will probably be Peter, but they're running out of P names for boys. Then again I was surprised by Destiny instead of Deborah so maybe they'll surprise us. I went to the blog to see the announcement. The only thing worth noting is they name-dropped Josh Duggar. I could think of few ways to phrase Josh and Anna without printing his first and last name. They didn't even mention Anna is Priscilla's sister. Yes most people reading the blog would know Anna and Priscilla are sisters, but then they would also know Josh and Anna without a last name or Priscilla's sister Anna and her husband, etc.

I hate the particular bows Si and Lauren use, because they look too tight on the head. At least Felicity's bows always looked comfortable.

They've been playing with the timeline when they post pictures. This picture in black and white is probably recent. The one on the bench is probably a few months old.

My take was that she refered to her husband as a friend. Yes it's considered good to be friends with your spouse and I would to like be friends with my partner as well, but most people (particularly young people) consider their partner to be more than a friend. This greeting is so platonic that the same language could describe a brother if they were living together. (Side note; I actually knew a brother and sister who lived together in the same apartment (separate bedrooms) as adults. It wasn't the house they grew up in, but it made sense.)

Erin seems to be angling for UPtv to pay for a vow renewal so she can wear a pretty dress (like UP did for Zach and Whitney). Michael would wear the same dress.

So the James Duggar and Lauren Caldwell rumors started with a picture Reddit supposedly had of them holding hands. Now there's a video of them baking together. Is the picture will all their hands on the oven door the one where they're holding hands or is there another holding hands photo out there? I wouldn't be surprised if they were courting and I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't courting. Another courtship would be good for ratings.

I'm going through random snark sites and I just saw what Kelly Bates wore to daughter Carlin's wedding (from earlier in the year). Obviously opinions will vary, but to my mind, she looks like she's competing with the bride. It would be perfect for a vow renowal with Gil and she made her older daughters (Erin, Michaela, Whitney, etc.) wearer dowdier wedding dresses to their own weddings! She's not old enough to pull "I'm a senior citizen it's okay." It's telling what fundie mothers consider appropriate.

It's like a toned-down version of Jill R's posts. It also sounds somehow condescending and overly sweet. The Splenda of birthday posts. I can hear Michelle reading in it in her cutsiest voice. Also, somehow Duggarfam has what looks like the most recent photo of the JinJer Vuolos. JinJer keeps posting photos that seem like they're from a few months ago.

I like the second picture of Jed! and Jinger. It's a good photo.

I really think Jill looks great. I've had longer hair and shorter hair and you would definitely feel the difference. She may even have more energy. Her hair is still long enough to put up in a pony tail and looks feminine. Gothard liked long hair, but he's out at IBLP. Gil Bates is on the current board of IBLP and several of his daughters cut their hair before they got married. The dowdy fashions of IBLP are going, going, gone! The Bates rock short skirts, and short hair even before marriage. The Maxwell women tend to have short hair too. Anna, Sarah, and Teri all have/had shorter hair. Only Mary keeps hers long and that seems to be a choice for her.

Someone on FJ started a fake rumor that Anna Marie wasn't her real name. This seems to be false. The Maxwells have never stated how old she was, but someone on the internet has found out her exact age. If Anna Marie wasn't her real name, that they probably would have that out too. The point Anna Marie is her real name. The Laurens wouldn't be called Marie, because their middles aren't Marie. Their real names Lauren Milagro Swanson Duggar and Lauren Hope Caldwell.

Gideon will be 2 in February. Hardly all grown up!

Austin was raised with IBLP. His parents either joined later in life or weren't quiverfull, but out of all the sons-in-law, he's the one with the fundiest background, the IBLP background, etc. As an added benefit, the camp does okay. Derick and Jeremy weren't fundie growing up. Ben's parents had ties to Vision Forum, which dried up. All of these were raised in very religious households (less so Derick), but not IBLP.

Felicity looks tall for 17 months. Her hair is lighter too.

Was Lauren's mother on-screen long enough for anyone to guess whether or not she's pregnant? As for Michelle, I guess she could be useful, but I haven't forgotten her talking Jessa out of going to the hospital with Spurgeon.

Any thoughts on last minute gift ideas? Especially for introverts?

I don't think JB is all that unhappy with Jeremy. Yes they have different beliefs about certain issues (family planning for one), but at the end they have the same beliefs or close enough to the same beliefs. If Jinger had married an atheist or a woman or something, that would infuriate him. He's still a conservative, patriarchal, white Christian and he has an education to fall back on. JB will have enough mouths to feed with just his sons and their wives and their quivers plus Ben and Jessa and their kids, etc.

Yes I agree with you for the most part. She will definitely have more kids. However I was surprised that Ivy and Henry were as far apart as they were. Henry was 2 years and 3 months old when Ivy was born. All of Michelle's kids were big siblings before their 2nd birthday, except for Josie.
