Zach and Whitney: The Constable and the Carhop
Temperance replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
Especially as she's pregnant and taking care of her own small children all the time. -
As far as I can tell/know, Tim lives in the trailer, because he's an adult male. Jill wants him to have his own place for the same reasons Tim has a job. There seems to be some reasoning that adult males needs to live "independently" and make their way in the world. Jill hasn't done this with her girls. Adult daughters seem to be expected to be stay-at-home daughters, do Etsy and be on the lookout for a husband. Then they can get married. Jill's position on her sons will be clarified in the next two years. Phillip turns 18 in July 2021. So she will have two adult sons in July. After Phillip, the next oldest two are the last two boys. After that she has six more girls. So we'll see.

She's 8 months pregnant. From what I've heard the last trimester/month is exhausting. Kendra is due sometime at the end of February, although she's delivered early both of the previous times.

@QuinnInND I have a very distant younger cousin with the name Quinn. I've never met her, and I've only seen her parents a few times. 1. I don't know much about private investigators, but a private investigator might be able to find out your father's name and identity. 2. Using a genealogy service might be able to connect you with other genetic relatives based on DNA. If there were (for example) half-siblings, they would be able to tell you the name of your father.

My instincts went either contriving/striving to be in touch with the current mood or just a day that ends in y is day we praise God!

@QuinnInND There may be other ways to find your bio father's identity. I'd be careful about reconnecting with your relatives. Ultimately it's your decision, and I think you'll make a good one. Probably it's best to take small steps. As for me, I've been really emotional lately for reasons. I'm disappointed in myself that I don't have more to show for my life. I handled something badly today and I feel bad about it.

Derick also has autonomy and has been making decisions with Jill about their family. He chose to go to law school. He also seems to be the one who wanted to quit the show. Jeremy seems firmly in control of his family. It's hard to tell if any of the choices are made by Jinger.

We once gave money to someone for the wedding. She was later bitching about it with friends. "Why did people have to give us money?" Among reasons, because it's easier to travel with when crossing several states! It's also hard to know what you need when we don't live near you! We gave you more money than we would spend on gift! And finally you can use to buy why stupid s**t you want! Usually in my experience people want you to buy off the wedding registry and if you don't, they get mad. One of my best friends asked for money. They had a small apartment, and needed money. We did give them a small keepsake and a check. I do think people should pretend to like what you get them and then exchange/take back it later.

I put this in the Sweet Fellowship thread, but Gabby and Cade have a baby girl named Baylah May Foehner. She was born January 18, 2021.

We don't know that Nurie has obvious problems. For all we know, Nurie could be pregnant. I don't think there will be an immediate announcement, because Jill is hoping to be pregnant and has mixed emotions about becoming a grandmother. Also I never asking for cash is tacky. It's a class/generational take maybe, but I have no problem with people saying they prefer cash.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

All the places say "Masks are required for adults and children over 2." Evelyn is 5 months old. -
A couple with both people under 35 would need to go a whole year before they are diagnosed with infertility. Nurie and Nathan have been married 6 months. It's still too soon to call infertility. I also think she could be pregnant and her mother doesn't want to announce it. Jill wants to be pregnant and not a grandmother. Could you find that article? I would be interested in seeing it.

I don't think it's overly controlling to not let your underage daughter get to know a man. If they were mainstream, she would have been in high school and he would have been in college. According to fundiewiki, the Bates did let her begin to talk with him when she was still 17. In general I think adults should make their own decisions, but underage teens are a different story.

Yes. She didn't know she did when she was pregnant with Kade. She had a normal pregnancy with Kade. Then for some reason, she found out she had the condition during her pregnancy with Kolter.

Gothard absolutely encouraged large families. He was anti-birth control. He told mothers to stop breast feeding at six months to increase the chances of a new pregnancy. He encouraged people who had had vasectomies to get them reversed. Now depending on the parents joined IBLP, they may not have been able to have large family naturally. Even in the most intrusive cults, it's hard to force to have more kids. Fundamentalism is all about control. You don't become and stay fundie if you don't have desire to control others. JB and Michelle are certainly control freaks.
