  1. When they're all married 20 plus years let me know. Most of them haven't been married 5 years. There will probably be divorces in this family; it just might take awhile. Especially once the money runs out.
  2. I disagree that the age difference is a problem. I don't think just under two years is a big deal. I don't care how it looks. To me, they're two kids who were both failed by their parents. Her future is just as bleak and sad as his. Worse as she's the one who will be pregnant. In some ways trying to hide the age difference makes it more noticable. Starting today all of the tabloids will point that Claire is 20 and and Justin is 18 the same way they did with Ben and Jessa. When they announce a pregnancy, she'll be 20 and he'll be 18. Nine months from now I think will be just after Justin's 19th birthday. Talk about trying to make it look good.
  3. yes Justin is the youngest so far to get married in this generation. Kendra and Lauren were barely 19. Kendra technically was a week younger than Lauren when she married. Ben was almost 19 and a half. Joy was over 19 and a half. Josh and Anna were 20. I agree it's very sad. JB and Michelle are such lousy parents.
  4. A good interviewer could have a field day interviewing Erin with all her contradictions. "You say women should be keep sweet and modest." Cue a montage of Erin not being sweet. "You say women should submit to their husbands." Cue a montage of Erin telling Chad what to do. "You say you'll have as many kids as God wants." God tries to limit her to four and she's going to have ten anyway.
  5. I get nervous with babies and pools, but otherwise good for them. In other news, Alyssa is bragging about how good she looks. Maybe I'd brag too, but I never claimed to modest.
  6. A friend of mine is scheduled for surgery before her second dose! She says she thinks it's fine. The doctor says the surgery only takes a day to recover from. She has her second dose a week later. The good news is that her condition is not life-threatening.
  7. Especially when the school probably has real social distancing policies in place and that wedding does not. I don't think missing your brother's wedding is a big deal when you have 10 of them plus a cousin your parents are raising and 8 sisters. With as big as the family is, it's inevitable that not everyone will make every wedding. They even said that at one of the weddings. I can't remember if it was Jill's or Jessa's. She might have been there, but skipping the out-of-state, COVID spreading, teenage wedding sound likes okay to me.
  8. So JinJer and kids are flying somewhere. Jana, Laura, and Jason are in Texas. It's looks like maybe the wedding will be tomorrow. Claire is 19 and will 20 on Saturday since it's her birthday. Justin is 18. Jessa was also older than Ben and they got married 3 days before her birthday.
  9. So the Bontragers are advertising for the Man Camp and Young Women's Retreat. They will both be held in May and are enrichment opportunties. Man Camp sounds like more of a joke than usual. "On May 13-16th Denver would love if you joined him and his amazing team of staff for a weekend in May in which you will be prepared for life, adversity and manhood. You will be stretched outside of your comfort zone physically, mentally, and spiritually. You will discover what it means to truly be a mighty man of God in your discipline, character, passions, pursuits, and conversations. There will be convicting sessions, stretching activities, outstanding "man food" and fellowship with other men! Sign up soon and mightymencamp.org to receive the early bird discount!" Both of these camps are fundie-networking events to meet other people with similar beliefs. The Bontragers may met have the Helferichs through these camps. Lauren Caldwell went to women's one once.
  10. FFY. Papa Temperance shares a birthday with a Duggar.
  11. That line. Did she really say "it broke my heart when you left"? Like the rest of it, I see why she's saying that, but I'm laughing bitterly on your behalf. How did she think you could stay? If she really loved you, she would have been glad to see you escape. I disagree with @Oldernowiser. I don't think you'll regret causing her pain she deserves, but it will never end. She'll want to talk to you again, and you'll get mad again and nothing will ever be resolved. It'll bring stress and bitterness for you. I think if you contact your sister, there's a good chance she'll tell your mom everything you tell her. I think she will try to reunite you guys. Think it over. We'll be here for you no matter what. I've been a little worried about you; I'm sending good vibes.
  12. Kendra and Joe were married September 8, 2017. They'll be married 3 and 1/2 years on March 8, 2021. They'll be married 4 years in September. Kendra is 22.5 and she'll be 23 in August.
  13. Duggars have 20 grandchildren with 1 on the way that we know. (Josh 6, John 1, Jill 2, Jinger 2, Joseph 3, Josiah 1, Joy 2, and Jessa 3 with 1 on the way.) Bates have 15 grandchildren with 3 on the way (Tori, Whitney, Josie).
  14. Brooklyn is a very popular name. It started I think as homage to all the Brooke born in the 70s, 80, and 90s. And -lyn is popular ending. Carolyn, Marilyn, Madelyn, etc.
  15. I think there's a good chance Kendra had the baby, but they're waiting to announce. They did that with Addison.
  16. Nurie got married in July, which is long enough she probably is pregnant and got to enjoy married life for awhile.
  17. I know some places have a list like a back-up list. Once they unfreeze, the vaccine they have to use all the doses in one go. So sometimes they'll have a dose to ready and waiting, but no one to give it to. In that case, they call a person on the back-up list, and tell them "If you're here in x number of minutes, we'll vaccinate you." No one I know is on that list, but hopefully that's helpful to someone.
  18. It's Hazel Sloane. I thought there was some announcement with her health that might lead them to limit their family size. I know Erin is the ovarian cysts, but Josie also had some health issues.
  19. @Jynnan tonnix Good to have you back. Have you and Mr. Jynnan gotten vaccinated yet? @QuinnInND I agree with @Scarlett45 and @iwantcookies that getting a burner phone/account would be good before you contact your sister. I also recommend reading your mother's letter. They contacted you as a set. Your sister will probably try to patch up with mommy dearest. I know she seems nice, and maybe she is. Nice people tend to think everything can be resolved like a Disney movie or '50s sitcom. They can also be really pushy. I hope everyone else is doing as well as can be.
  20. The thing is Anna is usually quick to deny she's pregnant and laugh it off. I think she's pregnant, because she hasn't responded to the rumors. It would be early for but not by much depending on when she's due.
  21. The viewers knew Jessa hadn't died thanks to the gossip magazines and social media. I've known at least one other woman who had problems with post partum hemorrhage. She gave birth in a hospital. Jessa should also give birth in a hospital since waiting for ambulance is bad with hemorrhaging. Jessa's hemorrhaging is catastrophic.
  22. @Happyfatchick It is definitely partially at least the mother's fault. That young man was as much a product of his environment as much as the Duggars are products of their upbringing. His mother clearly taught him that being an addict is no big deal. She probably used drugs in front of him before he was adult. He and his sister had poor role models and maybe even family pressure to be like that. I've known people from environments like that. Your daughter-in-law is a strong person to walk from all that shit and break the cycle. I hope she is okay. I'd be nervous about COVID. Who knows who the mother and girlfriend have been around? They obviously have no judgement. His mother and girlfriend should have called 911 and saved him. I will pray for the whole family. I lost someone to drugs recently (within the last year.) It helps to remember addiction is a sickness.
