I started to give Kathryn a pass by reminding myself that at 22 I was still in the habit of drinking too much at social functions. But then I also reminded myself that I was not someone's mother, and I certainly wasn't trying to snag some old geezer (by comparison only, I am older than T Rav) with political ambitions. Sorry, you want to play grown up, play it. Kathryn is already bitter at 22, she drinks too much, and is really a total buzz kill for any social function. I can't figure out if she is also batshit crazy or smart enough to have figured out how to snag maximum screen time (thank you, Teresa, Brandi, Tamara, et al, for the lessons). Oh, and I have finally decided for sure, I just don't like Landon. Not quite sure what bugs so much and, because she is a dog lover, I really wanted to like her. But I don't. Do like her dog though.

S07.E05: Mind Your Own Business
chlban replied to QuinnM's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Yes. I thought that was who it was. But then on the first episode I thought Dorinda was dating Joe Guduice. Sonja's boytoy is most definitely gay and just either getting paid to appear or is just another famewhore. Sonja is so being taken, but she also so deserves it. I have never really got all the Heather love so I am kind of glad that she seems to be showing her real stripes this year. I did like Carole though, but I am not buying into her Carrie Bradshaw imitation. I do with Lu would lay off though, for Lu's sake, not Carole's. She is making herself look petty and vindictive. ETA that Sonja is being taken by her "team" not the boytoy. I am pretty sure both her and the kid know the score. -
Couldn't agree more, especially since I have zero interest in a long term (or short term for that matter) relationship. I like being single. Go figure. Of course I was married, so I can say been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Or ring as it were. Shep is still quite young and professes to want children, so I suspect at some point he will meet the one. If not, I am pretty sure he'll have a great life and I bet he is a super fun and awesome Uncle to his sister and brothers kids..

Or he may be like George Clooney and finally get tamed. You never know. It certainly seemed to happen to the 60's version of George, Warren Beatty. With his charisma, perhaps he should be the one pursuing politics instead of poor delusional Thomas.

We have a few "Esquire's" here at my company, that is not a law firm, and the positions they hold do not require a law degree. Granted, I don't doubt it looked good on their resume's its not the reason they were hired. In my conversations with a couple I know well, it's because they say there is no way for them to make decent livings practicing law. One was a prosecutor for a while, but it didn't pay enough so she is working at our company in Corporate Compliance. So, the law degree should not limit Craig from doing something else, although it sounds like he really wants to practice law. While I see that he is acting really immature right now, I am not sure that means his life and career are doomed. I know some men that did not get it together I their twenties,, but did so later. I think seeing he came from such a solid family was encouraging. What wasn't was the reminder of the "trophy generation" We have started to get more of those in our work force, of course, and they can be easily identified even without knowing the age range. They are the ones that often show up late, if at all, have to leave early, have tons of texts that apparently cannot wait until their break. If they actually show up a full 40 hours in a work week I swear they are expecting trophy. Unfortunately, we don't hand them out-only paychecks. Whitney is truly ill mannered for someone supposedly born to wealth in the South. Shep has so much better manners. Not to mention he is way cuter. Than just about anyone I can think of. actually. Whitney is gay, IMO. In fact, I suspect he is in love with Thomas. No wonder he and Kathryn detest each other so much. Bitch fights are the worst! Craig absolutely deserved to be fired and the boss was more than patient. However, he is young enough it's hardly the end of the world and may well teach him a lesson. Or not. But I am hoping so.

Sounds like a much better ending. I really didn't care for this one, since I firmly believe that, at worst, that kid would have served a few years in a mental institution. Which would be a shame because she was clearly a sociopath and should be locked away for life. Either way if you are wanting to be "good parent" covering for your kid is not exactly the way to do it. Great lesson, that. The other point that was ludicrous was these two geniuses decide their bad parenting is the cause of Abby being a sociopath. So, I know, mom take off for parts unknown with psycho kid and dad turn yourself in for her crime. Wait...........are we forgetting something? Oh yeah, dump the other kid, the apparently normal one (so far at least) at her uncles? Seriously? Good to know you have learned your parenting lessons. That one certainly won't have any abandonment issues now. I was brought around at the end of this series but the ending was just too ludicrous. I get that it probably has more to do with Ryan not wanting to come back, but that is really no excuse. I am sure they could have figured out another way to kill him off before next season.

There are some states, Colorado is one, where a child under 12 cannot be charged with murder. Her age is the main reason I just don't buy that it will be the kid. Whether or not she could be prosecuted, as you stated, she would likely only be facing some type of required treatment until adulthood. Plus it's hard not to be a bit sympathetic to a child, even if she has done such a horrible thing, especially with her evil bitch mother. Cornell already said it was a woman's crime. So I am betting it's either bitch wife, or they are going to throw us a curve and finally bring Melissa Gilbert in again. Could even be the older daughter, although that would be pretty out of left field. I just don't think it's going to be the younger one, but we'll see soon enough. I am actually looking forward to it. -

I'd be perfectly happy if they give Kim a spin off with her BFF the Skank. Just get her off my show. -

Well, they are already in the middle of the Kingsley lawsuit, so yeah, I think they have to be looking at liability. I am torn as to whether I think they will fire her, based on the fact that they haven't cut Teresa loose. However, a couple of major differences. One is that, although I could never stand her, Teresa had a pretty big fan base. She was, at the least somewhat interesting and was certainly a main focus of the show. I have always felt like, at her very best, Kim was boring as hell. This season she was front and center, but in such a negative way. I sincerely hope the reports are true. I have given up New Jersey and Atlanta completely, but that was not difficult because there is not a single woman on either franchise that I even remotely like. I like several women on this franchise, both Lisa's and I love Eileen. I would like to continue to watch it, but there is no way I will watch another season featuring the toxic twosome. It just isn't entertaining. -

Yeah, I would love to hear what she was really saying to the people at that table that got her kicked out. I am pretty sure that even in the most upper class joints they don't 86 you for saying "Oh, sorry, I thought I recognized you, pardon me". I would love to hear the truth of that whole story. Which, of course, means we would have to hear it from someone other than Kim. -

S07.E04: The Art Of Being A Cougar
chlban replied to hoodooznoodooz's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I agree, there is something definitely off with Beth. OTOH, I love that she left Kristen out, since I can't stand Kristen and I kind of like that she is being such a bitch to Heather. I feel like any Heather like I had has run it's course and she mostly just grates on me. Carole is the other one that I have gone from really liking to just finding her utterly annoying. Carole, honey, Sex in the City has been done and Sarah Jessica Parker did it so much better. I hate Dorinda. On the plus side, all of my collective "hate" for any of these women does not come remotely close to what I feel for Kim Richards or Brandi Glanville, which allows me to dislike and snark on these broads much like I snark on the Vanderpump Rules gang. Which means it is a lot more fun. Not that this show has reached Vanderpump Rules perfection, but I am enjoying it this year. Of course it's early! -

Kim Richards: No Escape from Witch Mountain
chlban replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
So, I recorded this and watched last night, going back on my promise to never watch Dr. Phony again after the Anthony interview. But, its not my fault it's Kyle's. Yes, I know I watched Kim, not Kyle, but if I learned one thing from watching, NOTHING is ever Kim's fault. Yes, Dr. Phil was tough on her, at least compared to Wimp Andy, but I did not like all the "poor little Kimmie" bullshit he was peddling. She is in pain, her fiancé died 25 years ago, her ex husband is dying. Please. I believe that is called "life". Not many of us make it to 50 years old without heartbreaks, traumatic losses and lot's and lot's of stress. Not all of us have rich family members to bail us out of our disasters, or trust funds when we hit adulthood. Nor do we have a couple of ex-husbands from mega rich families who were most certainly paying huge amounts in "child support" for many years. The fact that Kim pissed away all her money on drugs, drinks and shoes is just not eliciting a lot of compassion from me. I'll save that for the millions of "real" single mothers out there. Kim is truly a despicable person. She is such a practiced liar, and how can such a freakin' has been be such a diva? Her back stage meltdown was so typical Kim. I cannot believe there is anyone that does not see what a bitch she is, drunk or sober. We now have confirmation, not that any of us needed it, that she not only has been drinking all this time (but never on the show, because that is somehow of huge importance) she has been doing drugs. I had thought it was probably all prescription, but we have confirmation that, at the very least, she was also smoking weed. Not that I think weed is a big deal for most people, it's just like booze, But either one for an addict is obviously a problem. Bitch is not going to get clean, no matter how many resorts/rehabs she visits. She doesn't want to get clean. She is a nasty, vile, selfish and truly evil person. She is also a shitty mother. Period. The fact that her kids seem relatively together does not surprise me. I have a good friend whose mother is an alcoholic. As a result, my friend has had to be the adult in the relationship. I often forget that she is 20 years younger than me and that when I met her she was only in her early 20's. She is mature beyond her years. That often happens with the children of addicts. Also, luckily for those kids, they seem to have all maintained relationships with their various dads, and have at least one aunt that has cared about them. Maybe Kathy even give a damn, who knows? One other point about Kathy, "the good sister". I think it's fairly ironic if the reports are true that Kathy engineered this interview. Because, Kimmie let me tell you this. You can be mad forever that Kyle outed you as an alcoholic on National TV. But Kathy, with the assistance of Dr. Phil just outed you, to a much bigger audience, as an alcoholic, drug addicted, delusional lying liar who lies. Well done Kathy. Well done. One last thing, because it can't be said enough. Fuck Kim Richards.- 6.9k replies

Kim Richards: No Escape from Witch Mountain
chlban replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Exactly. I agree she isn't to blame, Kim is. However, I also agree that she is toxic. Many posters have posted throughout the season that Brandi is a terrible influence on Kim. That is not to say she is responsible for her, but it's not rocket science to figure out that an addict like Kim shouldn't be hanging around a lush like Brandi.- 6.9k replies

CA has the Hayden Law that requires that any dog picked up by animal control be held for 4 days before being Euthanized. Governor Terminator attempted to overrule the law several years back, and got his ass handed to him by CA citizens.Big, bad Arnold backed down, so it is still in effect. However, that was meant to allow owners time to find lost pets and rescues time to arrange for transport. I don't know if it applies if you voluntarily surrender you pet. I hope so, but I don' t know. -

Maybe this has been addressed, but anyone else wondering how Andy is liking this? I am betting, not much. He is used to getting the exclusive interviews, like he did with Teresa. I bet he had a full on hissy fit when he heard that little Kimmie was being interviewed by Dr. Phil on Network TV. I just hope he holds a grudge long enough to fire her ass. As for Dr. Phil, I might forgive his schilling and I could try to forgive his shoving his Stepford wife down our throats. but I will never, ever forgive him for paying the Anthony's for an interview. -

Have you ever tried to stop a drunk from drinking? I have, and I can certify that you might as well try to herd cats. In fact, I'd go with the cats any time. I don't blame the kid and Kim is a P.O. S. for bringing her into it. But then Kim is a P.O.S. period. -
Kim Richards: No Escape from Witch Mountain
chlban replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Her whole story, as usual, is so blatantly BS. So you go into a dark bar or restaurant and think you recognize someone at a table. Drunk or sober, totally believable. So, you walk over and then realize you are mistaken. You simply briefly explain, "so sorry, I thought you were someone else". Slightly uncomfortable perhaps, but certainly no big deal. There is no way anyone in the restaurant would be disturbed by such a thing. Kim thinks we are all as stupid as Brandi.- 6.9k replies

Kim Richards: No Escape from Witch Mountain

Here in CA. they can, and sadly do, destroy strays regularly. They can also destroy an animal that has been picked up even if the owner is known (through licensing, tag, microchip) but only after waiting four days (the Hayden Law). However, I was referring to a dog being seized by animal control from someone's home. I don't believe that animal can be destroyed without a hearing. In my condo shortly after moving in I was warned about a vicious dog, yes it was a Pit, in the complex. He had killed my new next door neighbors cocker spaniel. He was seized and there was a hearing. At the hearing it came out that the killer dog had actually grabbed the cocker spaniel that was unleashed through the bars of a wrought iron fence. Since the Pit was behind the fence, and the cocker was unleashed the Pit was returned. to the owner. About a year later the dog, while on a leash but under the "control" of a young girl, grabbed and killed a cat. He was not seized that time, but there was a hearing. The hearing resulted in numerous restrictions, i.e. he had to be muzzled any time he was outside of his yard, leashed or not, he could only be walked by a person over 21,etc. Shortly after they moved away so I don't know how it ended up and, granted, he had not bit a human, so it may be quite different. However, I have a hunch that since Kingsley hasn't killed anyone, it is unlikely he would be destroyed without at least a hearing. -

I just think Abby is too obvious, I can't see them going there, but obviously I could be wrong. I definitely see Ben confessing if it is Abby though. That totally fits. I wonder what they plan to do with this after the reveal? Are they going to follow How to Get Away With Murder, by giving us another murder? Or are they going to start all over again with a whole new central cast? Based on the ratings, it looks like this could get renewed, so they must be considering these things.
