  1. He reminds me of a young Kurt Russell. I absolutely love Stark Sands, so I'll watch him in literally anything. That said, I do think the show has potential; will be interesting to see how it evolves.
  2. It was for a bet that Rachel won. Quinn was looking for a new villain since Britney got cut and she and Rachel had a bet about whether Rachel could turn Anna into that villain. I believe it is something they'd done before...there was a reference to it. Rachel went along with it b/c she got $5000 if she won, which she was going to use to pay off her debt to her old roommate and get her laptop back. Unfortunately, she got the $ just a wee bit too late.
  3. All I could think about (other than how relatively sedate the whole couch was) was the contrast between the fit of Kit Harrington's and Matt LeBlanc's suits. I LOVED Kit's look, but Matt looked uncomfortable and his suit didn't fit. The tie looked like it was about to strangle him.
  4. I agree about Patricia Arquette. I was watching this last episode and trying to put my finger on what exactly it was about her performance that makes it seem so... bad. There's such a disconnect when I remember that she won an Oscar this year! And then I realized that a big part of it is the fact that no matter what she's saying, or what emotion she's trying to convey, her expression never changes. There is no expression in her eyes, in particular. That makes everything seem so wooden. It's distracting.

I'm a big Pats fan... I thought it was pretty funny. Even better was this from John Legend last nite re: the White House Correspondents' Dinner... And Russell Wilson couldn't help himself either. LOL (and in an amusing twist of fate, Wilson and Belichick were seated at the same table at the dinner)
  6. I can't figure out if it's a specific song, the singer's voice, or both, but the song "No Good in Goodbye" by the Script sounds so much like Robbie Williams it's disconcerting. The voice sounds similar but the melody, particularly of the chorus, also sounds like Robbie Williams music.
  7. You know... if David Simon were at the helm, I might just say "yes, please". But with this crew? Notsomuch...LOL
  8. I'm obsessing just a little bit over Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud"...
  9. I heart this comment SO much! I unashamedly watched that show all.the.time back when it was on TV! LOL I too am getting fatigued from all of the "blink-and-you-miss-it" storylines and the Gabby overload. But this episode overall wasn't bad. I really did like the rescue scenes, especially the skating rink one. Skating is a dangerous sport for sure. There has been more than one incident in the NHL of a player getting a skate to the throat. Back in '89, Clink Malarchuk -- goalie for the Buffalo Sabres -- got a skate to the neck as players crashed into the net and nearly bled out on the ice from a lacerated carotid artery.
  10. I want to know (if no one really saw anyone mess with the lockbox) how he pulled that off. He's a magician so it's not surprising he did something like this, but I think it was kinda cool..
  11. I'm SO glad they didn't start the "play-off" music as he started his personal story. I'm really kinda sad that Richard Linklater didn't win just because having the patience and dedication to film something over 12 years is kinda remarkable. (and shallowly, I really wanted the guy who directed "Dazed and Confused" to win an OSCAR. Alright, alright, alright! ).
  12. The In Memoriam was very well-done. They needed to figure out if they were going to silence it or not. The occasional clapping was disconcerting. Great voice but I'm just not a fan of J-Hud...
  13. This speech sums up exactly why NPH is bombing. SO self-important. And of course it gets some of the biggest applause of the night.
  14. Yep... they REALLY aren't at all into the jokes that are at their expense. Like the LEGO MOVIE joke. That's the biggest and most inexplicable snub of the year by all accounts and NPH making a joke about it just was not something the audience was prepared to acknowledge. Well... tough. Y'all were the ones who snubbed it, so deal with the consequences. I've come to terms with the fact that for me it's not NPH that's making this a disappointing show...it's the audience. Gah.
  15. yeah... I think that was the whole point of the bit. And the "Annie" joke, which I think was a bit too subtle. I actually think (agree? Did someone mention this above?) NPH was trying to comment on the fact that audiences didn't seem to accept a non-white Annie (similar vein to his opening "whitest" comment) but it flew past. (hell...Target deservedly got a lot of flack for doing an "annie-inspired girls' clothing line as a tie-in with the movie but using a white girl as "Annie" even though Annie was being played by the adorable Quvenzhané Wallis.) Heh...that's probably a big part of why the GG's are looser. The TV audience members don't take themselves quite so seriously and therefore add some energy to the room! Had never heard Rita Ora sing before, but will say she is gorgeous.
  16. Hah... that's funny. I was just thinking about the fact that I caught the first part of "Cloverfield" the other day on SyFy channel and was remarkably disappointed that I had to leave before it was over. I hope it's on "On Demand".
  17. My god yes. I don't think it's that NPH's jokes are THAT much better when he hosts the Tonys. I just think the audience members have a sense of humor, fun, and self-deprecation. The Oscars audience members are just... blah. WHY SO SERIOUS???!! If this is how they are gonna be, just screw it and go back to giving them out at a luncheon in the Beverly Hilton hotel.
  18. Considering there's been a lot of publicity this year about the recent and long-standing historical absence of minority nominees/winners I thought it was really timely and topical. And just the kind of acerbic comment that the industry needed to hear.
  19. No joke. I love him and his opening numbers. That was really creative and appropriate. It just bugs a bit that while it's always obvious that the Tony's audience (in the theater...the actors and other industry professionals) really enjoy and appreciate it, it just seems like the "movie stars" are a bit too self-important to acknowledge the beauty of what NPH does. And his very opening line.. "the whitest"... HAH! Touché. Loved it (and probably one of the things that the audience, being so self-important, didn't appreciate.)
  20. I don't mind it because she's the only one there who is offering up something other than "omg she looks AH-MAZING!!!!!". She actually is giving some commentary and isn't above giving (constructive) criticism. I feel like Kelly has worn her dress before. And Ryan really is the standard-bearer for the type of work he does. He really is a pro and it's obvious that he has a lot of good will among the celebs on the carpet. I imagine that the constant interviews get really old (Granted..oh, the horror!), but they all seem to genuinely enjoy talking to him. I love Rosamund Pike's dress. But I'm not feeling the shoes. They seem to "informal" for the dress. And Chrissy Tiegen? One of the absolutely best-dressed last year (LOVED her dress!), but the whole look this year is just way too much and doesn't look sophisticated in the least. Saw a photo of Jamie Chung on the red carpet, and I really like her look. Felicity Jones' dress is doing weird things at the waistline and makes her look bigger than she is. Lupita's dress I think would look better if the neckline wasn't so bulky. The detail is beautiful and Lupita herself is gorgeous, but the neckline makes the dress look really "heavy" and I think makes the whole line of the dress more "boxy" than it should be.
  21. Well... I'll say that Miley singing "50 Ways..." probably wasn't the best idea in the world just because everyone knows Paul Simon is in the house, and everyone also knows we'd all rather hear him sing it. Having said that... if you take away the fact that Paul was there and just take it on its own as a musical performance, I have to say that I kinda liked it. And I'm in no way, shape, or form a Miley Cyrus fan.
  22. Paul sure doesn't look his age. But he does kinda sound it.
  23. Is that who that is? Seriously? Wow. It does bother me just a wee bit that the first Jeopardy category question (about Tom Sawyer) was grammatically incorrect. Oh well...can't win 'em all. And yes... I'm still feeling queasy about the Bass-O-Matic. Hilarious but nauseating.
  24. Wow... so Kanye may have thought better of pulling a "Taylor, I'mma let you finish...", but it wasn't all a joke. What a self-important, pretentious ass. I get that you love Bey and feel your opinion is the only one that matters, but how 'bout YOU respect other people's art as well. Did you watch that Beyonce performance, Kanye? Emotionless, mugging for the camera? Ok... I guess I do get why YOU would consider that "art". I mean, I don't necessarily like Beck, and wouldn't have been upset HAD Beyonce won, but seriously, what a tool.
