  1. I imagine the conversation went like this, “Hey football team that I work for, I’m trying to get a part time job with this other football team in the area and it will take up a lot of my time. No, no I’m not angling for a position with bigger, better, professional team, I’m fully committed to YOU...oh, can I leave early today I have to get my DCC makeover. Okay, great.” Businesses that can benefit from having a DCC on staff probably move heaven and earth to keep them; dance studios, gyms, hair salons, plastic surgeons, anywhere that can say, “come see a real life DCC, you/your child can look/be like them one day too! We take cash, credit, and check.” The graduation ceremony and the where are they now propaganda just says, “we love and respect all of you and we’ll do anything for you...except pay you like the professionals that we demand you be.”
  2. From what we were shown, Jasmine got hosed. She seems like a nice girl, I hope she comes back. Something about Malena scares me a bit, like Kathy Bates in Misery. All sweet and smiling with crazy underneath.
  3. Definitely, but she roller skated at Burning Man and I think that's pretty cool. Johnny said that the Brazilian (by way of NJ) skater would have a harder time because Brazil doesn't have a reputation with the judges. That seems ridiculous, shouldn't the scoring be objective? Just like how Mirai has a reputation for under rotating so the judges are extra hard on her jumps. Seems like it would be impossible to improve in that system. I wish someone had skated to something from the Game of Thrones soundtrack, same classical sound, more opportunity to engage a new audience. All of the Larry Nassar/Karoli atrocities made it difficult for me to watch figure skating and not be worried about what may be going on behind the scenes :(
  4. Kleinfeld has a lot of demure dresses with sleeves, they just seem to keep them hidden from us 1 , 2 . They also have consultants for Orthodox brides, I think we saw one once. This dress is particularly classic and stunning. Can you tell I'm going to Kleinfeld for an appointment soon? :)
  5. I think I've fallen in love with pairs skating. It's so nice to watch more mature skaters (the announcers keep acting like Carolina Kostner has a foot in the grave), women with shorter hair, and Meghan Duhamel beaming from ear to ear. How does Aliona look exactly the same in her 2002 Olympics clips as she does today? Sui and Han are incredible, I hope they can stay healthy for Beijing.
  6. I think the removal of the glasses is because it makes the quickest and easiest "transformation." I doubt George has a personal issue with glasses. I do miss him on Fashion Police.
  7. He was in the background of one of this season's episodes, he was wearing a crappy looking blue sweater that probably cost a fortune. I thought the consultant who was wearing the white tunic looked nice, maybe she got a promotion? I spent most of the black dress bride episode convinced that it was a set up for Randy to bring out his blue dress. The Pnina consultant is the girl in the ballgown at the end of the title sequence with the train being fluffed in slow motion. Most of the brides in my neck of the woods, (NYC/Long Island) are wearing strapless lace gowns, usually fit and flare or mermaid.
  8. I watched it while folding laundry, it's amazing what a difference better glasses and whiter teeth make! I like that most of the makeovers are attainable and more or less affordable. The bride who got the eyelash extensions may not be able to get a fill every two weeks but she can certainly put false lashes on for special occasions. Men who can't be bothered to comb and condition (oil?) their beards should not grow beards.
  9. That kitchen is hideous. I don't know if it's possible for a spin off to capture the magic of Jersey Shore. No producer/audience could predict that Snooki would get punched in the face, that GTL and grenades would become a thing, that Ronnie and Sammi would have that tumultuous of a relationship, etc. etc. The four normalish people are so much more interesting and watchable than the two Ken dolls and two loud women.
  10. Kelli looks so good when she wears pants. Brennan has done everything Kelli and Judy have asked of her, I think she should make it for her maturity alone. She didn't do anything for me last year but she seems so mature and together that I think she'd be an asset to the team just for the influence she would have in the locker room. Were the Demi Lovato competition winners the home owners? That house was HUGE. Lexie just looks like a DCC, she's like an avatar of a DCC. I'm sure Gina is a great dancer but even the way she nods when K & J are speaking bothers me.
  11. I was referring to something like this which could have gone underneath. Her top came undone, it's unfortunate. She wasn't cut at finals for it as far as we know. I specifically said Broadway because all Broadway and Off-Broadway performers are members of Actors' Equity. You could also say that being a DCC is pretty rare. The core of what we're all talking about, and what really fascinates me about the show and as kept me watching for so many seasons is that they demand a whole heck of a lot out of these women for a part time job. I hope Erica's injury isn't too serious. Does anyone know what she does for a living?
  12. I think Holly's top coming undone is that bad. The entire purpose of having the veterans re-audition is to let them know that they could and will be cut at any time, they're the ultimate at will employees! The vets come in and it's a big show for the rookies, Kelli and Co get to say, "Look! These are the standards you'll be held to if we choose you and we'll even cut these women if they don't uphold these impossible standards." DCC have to be sexy but not sleazy, approachable but not too real, thin but not too thin, curvy but not too curvy. Oh, and also be in school or have another job. All for ~$200 a game. Holly failing to secure her top properly and to not wear proper dance undergarments underneath shows a huge crack in the DCC veneer and we've seen them cut girls for far less IMO. At least if these women were in NYC dancing on Broadway they'd be in a union with a pension and health insurance. On a lighter note, the rookies look beautiful. Miranda and Kalyssa look so much younger and softer!
  13. Every person who appears on Making the Team sans Charlotte and maybe maybe Kelli and Judy, who have more bargaining power and probably negotiated more, has signed an extensive talent release that allows the network to use their image however CMT wants to. It's the risk you take when appearing on reality television. It doesn't really matter if any of the cheerleaders would prefer to be portrayed in differently, not be featured, etc. If the Cowboys, or Charlotte, as the President of DCC or whatever her title is, felt that it would reflect poorly on the DCC brand and then decided to keep Holly's wardrobe malfunction and leaving the squad, then we probably wouldn't have seen any footage, like how we didn't see and weren't told what happened with Courtney Cook. Kelli is probably an EP in credit and name only, it gets her more money and a great credit but she isn't actually doing any of the EP work on the show, similar to how actors are EPs of the television shows that they star in.
  14. I really doubt that Kelli and Judy had to sit Jenn K, Jaci, or Jinelle down to ask them if they were ready to lead by example, by example, by example. I know Jenna's still quite young even though she's a six year vet but if she hasn't earned the guiding light vet title, then don't force it! There are 20 something other women the rookies can look up to. Do the football players have to pay to attend combines? :/
  15. Is this the first time the show has started before the team has been announced?
  16. My guess is that production suggested that they serve something uniquely Dominican for the stupid Americans and Family Pedro happily obliged.
  17. I really don't think the gaming system is all that crazy. Pedro was thrilled by warm tap water when he first moved into the rose petal studio, so I think it's nice to for him to finally get all of the things I'm sure he always dreamed of having growing up. Most of Mr. Lurker's family is in Argentina and he has aunts who bring things back a few times a year; old clothes, old Tupperware, you name it. The kids were absolutely thrilled with a 10 year old PlayStation that was collecting dust up here. Most millennials probably have over $2000 in electronics in their apartments at any time, it was all just purchased over time. Family Chantel had the most closed off body language that entire trip.
  18. Archie sounded completely flat during their set. I keep wondering why Melinda, who seems nice and chill, is hanging out with these girls. Melinda, they are not your people!! Go start a new, crunchy group with your grad school cohort. The best part of the dedication was watching Sam's face squish into a million different stank faces, each more unflattering than the last. Girl needs to relax.
  19. Don't forget that Kat has a boyfriend back at home and the one guy that she has hooked up with on the boat has a girlfriend.
  20. I've seen every episode of Four Weddings from the drunk Forth of July bride, Alana the gold digger, the hippie pizza weddin etc etc and nothing was as bad as Pageant bride's husband talking about sex. What is modest or holy about announcing that you waited and you can't wait to get married so you can finally do it?
  21. Breelan seems like Chelsea 2.0. I love Ashley's new attitude this year, she's beautiful and seems like a cool girl. The less said about Vivian the better.
  22. So the buyers (assuming a real auction happens) could come in and plant something and then all is not lost on the sisters' tiny pergola! Is HGTV going to reside the building too?
  23. 12 years bride was a joke right? The whole family got together and concocted a story to get on tv right? It's just way too crazy for words otherwise, the only way he'll come to see her is if she's on tv? I hope her family set her straight, heaven knows what kind of crazy she could have set her daughter(s) up for! The 23 year old on her second marriage and her mother signed a waiver a voluntarily aired all of that dirty laundry on national television? Crazy. The father seemed justified in questioning his daughter's decisions and really, if parents have that many objections wouldn't a reasonable person put the wedding on hold and consider them and work with the family to find peace instead of full steam ahead with all of that negativity? Whatever happened to women getting married and needing a pretty dress?
  24. I feel like we're watching a marriage crumble before our eyes and it's really awful to see. Kristie did a nice job of hiding the crazy until now. I think Asia really does have something, that magical it factor, she really does light up on stage and moves with a maturity that while it makes me uncomfortable, seems to come naturally to her. So my question is, won't all of that still be in her at 16 too? Can't she just take the best classes money can buy until she's mature enough to make her own decisions and can tackle Hollywood without Mommy dearest breathing down her tiny neck? Did her manager learn nothing from Fame?? Wasn't the whole moral of the movie and show that talent is nothing and the business sucks? Raising Asia is like watching the famous scene with Irene Cara only her mother is behind the camera encouraging the whole mess.
  25. Aren't pergolas meant to be used as support for climbing plants like grapes or roses? I'm in the northeast and it's very common to see pergolas over driveways with plants on them, maybe they provide more shade that way? I guess that doesn't help much in a drought though. If I had the choice between simple turf/ sod or a pre-themed backyard for a unit that I'm buying I'm totally going simple and adding my own knick knacks and plants. John and Whitney's backyard looked pretty but looked too personal for real estate IMO.
