  1. Yeah, his mom passed away. Just once I'd love the IRT to arrive in the country, profile the heck out of everyone while alienating local police and then BE WRONG because they don't understand something about the culture, and the locals can solve it. But that will never happen lol.
  2. I liked the main episode a lot ... but I am over Reid. I can't believe I just said that, but yeah. I watch this show for profiling. If I wanted crazy prison I'd watch 60 Days In.
  3. Always love seeing Bruce McGill, but this episode was killed by how crappy everyone else was. I don't care about Torres or Quinn or Reeves. I am getting really sick of these orphaned characters that are self destructive and only the NCIS family can save them. New Orleans has mostly escaped it, but Los Angeles had Hetty basically collecting damaged people for her team too. Someone at NCIS has a fetish for this trope and it's old and dusty. Even when Ellie was introduced as married and stable, I knew it wouldn't last. I feel sad because most of the shows I love are in this weird space with old characters gone and new ones just not working or they fundamentally messed with the premise and wrote themselves into shitty corners. Criminal Minds, New Orleans, Grimm ... I want my good TV back.
  4. I am really bored with the Reid storyline. There, I said it. I love Reid. Favourite character. But I hate this storyline. I hate that Reid, a criminal profiler who once held off a serial killer by profiling him, seems to have forgotten he could use his skills to his advantage in prison. I was hoping him pretending to snitch to help Luis meant we were going to see Reid pull something on the baddies - he seemed to hint he knew how to deal with psychopaths ... and then just lets them beat on him and gets all depressed? I think they've missed the mark with this. I also hate that there doesn't seem to be any real effort to clear Reid, and I can't seem to see how they will. Some deus ex machina comes flying out to save the day is all I'm seeing, which will be unsatisfying and dumb. I think the whole Mr. Scratch story was screwed the minute Hotch left, and they should have scrapped it and started fresh.
  5. Grigorio's ex reminded me a lot of Bradley Cooper as Face in the A-Team movie.
  6. I thought Reid was making it obvious he snitched so the bullies would turn their attention to him and leave the other guy alone.
  7. She shows up occasionally, but thankfully not all the time. Garcia was a cute non-conformist weirdo in early Criminals Minds and has morphed into an annoying, juvenile character with troweled on makeup of Mimi from the Drew Carey Show.
  8. Totally agree with everyone saying Tatiana is dull and common. I did not understand why she was in the finals, nevermind on this show. So average. If they wanted a "boss" and "brand" to win, maybe the show should be called "American's Next Top Boss" or "American's Next Top Brand". But it's called model, so at least they picked the girl that looked like one.
  9. Really sad there was no Delilah on screen. I'm assuming the actress has another show or something that prevents her from guesting? Which sucks because I love her character. Quinn and Torres weren't as annoying in this episode (I actually found Torres kind of funny), but I still can't really enjoy the Bishop/Quinn/Torres trifecta. I think this episode really drove that home as well since the focus on McGee reminded me of when I enjoyed all of the characters on the show, and now there's only a few I actually like to see. FYI, writers - Mary Stuart Masterson is not one of them. My God her character was ten kinds of annoying.
  10. I think what I hated is that Rachel going home felt more like producer manipulation than anything. I think they wanted her as Bachelorette, told both Nick and her that, and they decided that was the best route and they did it. Everything with their goodbye seemed really easy and nice.
  11. I wish they'd institute a rule that if you fail to get an ingredient, other contestants are NOT allowed to share with you. I was cheering for Shirley. I think that AV Club article put into words what I've been feeling about Brooke the last few episodes especially. She just seemed to want to win to make up for last time. It seemed like it was about the win more than the food.
  12. I really like all three finalists a lot, so regardless of who qualified for the finals, I'd be happy. I do think they've over-focused on Brooke this season, which makes me wonder if they're setting us up for her win, only because she seems to have been given the strongest focus out of everyone. If that's the case ... bad job, guys. Don't telegraph wins. Hell, don't telegraph anything - and they do this ALL the time and I hate it. I knew Sheldon would be out merely because post fish, Brooke made a comment about wanting to compete against Sheldon. There was no question after that about who was going. I absolutely hate when shows do this. Create some damn mystery. Otherwise I may as well just read recaps somewhere. And a rant that is probably Canadian specific here - Freedom Mobile had the WORST popup ad on screen - it covered what the dish was! The description is often better than what the chefs say to the judges about the dish, so I rely on that, especially with ingredients I'm not familiar with. All of these companies that advertise seem to want to outdo each other with the ugliest, most intrusive ads. It makes me hate the companies that do this so much. I think they should be fined if their ad blocks important on-screen info.
  13. If they fire Vance, it has to be because he ignored all the crap going down in LA lol.
  14. Where has Shalita Grant been? I miss her. Also, I miss Brodie. (Who should have been Coates, but I digress).
  15. Ugh, all the new characters are making this show unwatchable. Along with Bishop. I can't tell you how much I wish Gibbs had fired her. Gibbs. McGee. Delilah joins the team. Fornell joins the team. Ducky, Jimmy, Abby support. I guess we can keep Vance as long as there is at least a throw away line about LA being cray. Give me back my show. Between this, New Orleans' bad casting and Criminal Minds bloating their cast too, all of my shows are murdering themselves.
  16. I was expecting they'd wrap up the Rittenhouse stuff (mostly for the viewer in case of a non-renewal) but set it up that they had to go back in time to reset the things they messed up, which would take some of season 2 and lead to some new kind of problem that would be the new big bad. I'm not a big Rittenhouse/big bad organization fan, so I would've liked to see them prep for a slightly different focus on season 2.
  17. I loved this. And I hate saying I hope Chegwidden (two d's!) stays because I hate that we have literally lost someone for that to happen, but I think he will be an amazing addition. The lines tonight! "you guys are a mess." "Welcome to NCIS Los Angeles." I would love a throw away line from Vance about how it's so cray in LA he had to send someone who could handle it lol. Deeks interupting the villain speech with death was awesome.
  18. I think it's interesting jimson weed was mentioned since it contains scopolamine which Scratch uses. I assumed during the chase he was still high on the coke, and as he came down off that, the effects of the heroin were stronger.
  19. Nick was a lot more fun during Paradise. He seems to excel more in group situations, as the wry commenter. I would peg him as an introvert, but I think he's just not good at carrying things on his own. Quietness/introversion/thinkers/observers play so badly on Bachelor/ette versions, whereas it usually results in fun commentary on Paradise. I think you need a really extroverted, outgoing Bachelor/ette to avoid the boredom this show always brings.
  20. My guess is they need Happy to have Cabe walk her down the aisle, but why would he do that when she has a dad. Now the position is open!
  21. Criminal Minds had an episode with a douche dating coach. Viper, I believe lol. Danny is just the worst.
  22. I really think the show missed its chance a few years ago to retool to what it had been. In the beginning, each character DID have specialties. If I remember right, Reid was geographical profiling, Greenaway was sex crimes, Morgan I can't remember (obsessions? something like that?), JJ was media liaison. And Hotch tied it all together. If they could have gone back to that ... I would've liked to see Rossi lead the group, JJ back to media, and have the characters have those specialties so it could narrow the focus a bit more. The cast is so bloated now it feels like the entire production is just cranking episodes out for a pay cheque, and that's it.
  23. One thing I really appreciate about the show is how much they show the stories of Hawaii, from the Nation of Hawaii movement to the leper colonies, the war and military history on the islands ... I just really like that they make a big effort to delve into their location and show people some unique and interesting history of the islands.
