I wonder why they are lying about their whereabouts? Being in Chicago actually makes them look WORSE than the actual truth. It was well-documented in real-time where JB and Mechelle were. Do they think people live in a vacuum and don't know these details? I'm sure both Pickles and FJ covered it extensively, and still archived for anyone to look up (I don't patronize either place). I got the same intel from another (private) source.

If they REALLY were in Chicago (they were actually in Alaska doing a speaking engagement), JD could have quickly filed a flight plan and picked them up. As it was, he could have more easily flown into Alaska because is ISN'T Chicago, or wherever they claimed they were. Not as busy. I forgot to check the plane records when all this went down in real time; it's possible JD DID pick them up, but not until the next day. IIRC, the seizure happened on a Friday.

They're contracted by the Hotel California? :D I thought Jerick's Nepal message tastefully done. That's all I wanted, and given their celebrity and ties to the place, not that much to ask. :)

Don't forget that Smuganna bought that fixer-upper somewhere in AR. I can't remember the name of the town, but it wasn't familiar to me. No clue how far it is from The Compound, but I'm sure it's fairly close. So, he has a built-in base to run for office in a climate that's much more favorable for his particular brand of politics.

Boob and Mechelle were in Alaska at a speaking engagement. This explains why she sounds so cold in the TH segment they're showing in the previews. Although I doubt she would have had much emotion had she been in the room with Miracle and Jana when the seizure happened. Poor, poor Jana. She looks positively terrified and broken. How horrible that had to be for her, and not just because she had to deal with the seizure; does it even dawn on her that she's doing all of the work her lazy, detached mother is supposed to be doing?

Disagree. In his position as a role model for young people, it would do a world of good to set an example of good charity. I certainly would give him CREDIT for openly pledging something, likely a check, to the relief efforts. Jessa responded to someone in the comments of an IG post, claiming that now the conference isn't just for homeschoolers anymore. That said, you still have to enroll for it through IBLP/ATI, so yes, it's Gothard-affiliated. Even if there are kids there who attend Christian schools or even *gasp* public schools, their families are still steeped in Gothardism and maybe just waiting for the perfect time to pull their kids out.

Derick chose to be in the public eye. He should know by their leghumper fanbase that he's being looked to as a role model. A little statement about how he has personally chosen to help in the Nepal aid would be welcomed. No one said he had to hop on a plane and be at ground zero. Unfortunately for him, he now has the burden of reality celebrity thrust upon him. A few better-chosen words from him would actually go a long way in putting himself back in the snarker's good graces after the mess that was Cat Gate.

Switching gears a bit, I am watching a rerun of the Wedding Prep episode that led up to Benessa's wedding. In a TH segment, Mack clearly said that "We are going to visit our AUNTS AND UNCLES!" (emphasis hers) Michael chimed in when she got to the "aunts" part. So yes, they know the difference. I doubt the same could be said of the Duggar "littles."

I know this. It's not a state secret. I just doubt that his Baptist funds are any better, and probably worse, since they likely target where aid goes, rather than spread the wealth.

In the second People video of the shoot, Mechelle commented about liking "bling," but toning it down because her arms were always in soapy water, and she was tending to snotty little noses (I paraphrased the second part...it was about handling "little ones"). I hate to tell her, but she has done neither for at least 15 years. Hell, even Jessa has washed more dished and cleaned up more "little ones" than her mother has. And that's saying something, given Jessa's obvious disdain for her younger siblings, save *possibly* Jordyn.

I just took another look at Derick's twitter. He has subsequently retweeted three ways people can donate cash. They are all Baptist-based. No Red Cross for that boy! I wonder how choosy these organizations he referenced are about who their money goes to?

She looks good, but knackered. That pic was taken at Big Sandy, on the side of the house the Duggars were given to stay in (pictures were posted with many of the kids sitting in the yard of the same place).

Anna follows that Radiance Foundation, and reposts their memes all the time. So, I think this is more her doing than being "forced" to in order to make Smuggar look good for his bosses. I looked them up, and they're pretty militant. The founder, an adopted African American (this is important to his platform), speaks at CPAC and other far right-wing conferences that the Duggars also attend (and often speak at).
