  1. I imagine something gone wrong turned into a lawsuit, which prompted this law. That's usually how things like this come into being.
  2. Absolom, there is a 42 week rule in AR law regarding midwife care. At that point, the patient has to be turned over to an OB for care. Jerick have mentioned that they do have a hospital care plan in place; it certainly looks like they'll have to implement it.
  3. Jill put up a 41w4d instagram post on Saturday, so, at least according to their narrative, she was still pregnant. Other than a "He is risen" instagram from Derick yesterday, it was quiet on social media (aside from Binjermin posting his usual inflammatory stuff). They obviously won't announce until People can put up a picture of the Blessed Infant online, probably tomorrow morning to coincide with the "gender announcement" episode tomorrow night. Who on earth doesn't know that it's a boy? Geez!
  4. For some reason, after seeing her midwife's uber-fundie website, I don't think they wanted to voluntarily be working yesterday (although I think it's a given that Jill wanted that Second Coming baby). I guess she still has today to deliver RickJamesBitch! before being turned over to the OB. I am not familiar with procedure at this point. Will the doctor just go ahead and induce her straight away, or check vitals and wait it out for a few more days?
  5. Actually today she's 13 days overdue. eta: her "second due date" was something she arbitrarily made up because, according to her, first time mothers are almost always "about 10 days late." I'm sure that she chose Easter on purpose, even if it meant choosing a day that was 12 days late. She just didn't want to say "Easter."
  6. Jana was very visible on the trip via social media. It was TLC's call to edit her out of the episode in their attempt to make it appear that Smuganna could take care of their three kids without help. I mean, the entire premise of the episode was a "family trip." Jana was there to wrangle kids, plain and simple. If Anna has trouble with the three she has, I can't wait to see her in a few years when the size of her brood has doubled. Also wanted to chime in about "instant obedience" (remember how Anna used that phrase with Mikey?). Sadly, that terminology comes straight out of To Train Up A Child. I finally broke down and read it the other day...it's every bit as appalling as advertised, but mentions of plumbing line have been removed from the 2008 printing.
  7. Not true. They had an MKid talking head in the wedding episode and Mack says that they're going to see their "aunts and uncles."
  8. Watching again...who is able to get to an event at 4 on a Friday in real life? Sierra noted that it was 21 hours away at that point. I dunno; my wedding had the dinner, but no rehearsal. The wedding was at my parent's house, since both parents' churches refused to marry us. And yes, whoever made JL's plaque fucked up big time. It said '96, rather than '36. If there was a Seewald born that year, I'd blame it, but Ben and Jessica were born in odd years.
  9. According to the due date Jill gave, her LMP was 6/18, meaning she was at the tail end of her period on her wedding day. If she holds to her parents' stated OT regimen of no sex during or the 7 days after for cleansing, it sets the stage for humping like bunnies during ovulation. I think her dates are correct, and that she's just super late. She does have a doctor in the process, which is good, since it's pretty clear that she will have to see him/her on Tuesday when she hits 42 weeks. I did NOT see that she has to deliver in a hospital, only that she needs to consult a real medical professional. Not berating lay midwives, just saying that they have limits, ie. overseeing "uneventful" pregnancies/births. Don't dog me; that's what is said in their credo.
  10. Should be '36. He was in his early 70's when he passed, so that would be the actual answer. I'll watch it again today after soccer is over and double check it.
  11. He'd certainly know The Waltons. I'm of his generation, and we grew up on that stuff from an early age. Taking from the Kids' thread, GEML posited that Boob/Mechelle spend a lot of time these days essentially plotting future episodes with TLC. I agree. In an episode that aired during the afternoon today (hey, I'm on spring break from the library!), Mechelle called herself the "scheduler." LMAO More like the "talking to the PR and People magazine reps" person. I seriously doubt that she's scheduling her kids' days, aside from knowing when JD and Josiah would be available for family filming.
  12. (Taking to the JB and M thread)
  13. According to whom? ETA: That blog post was likely written last week sometime. She's had BH contractions for a while now. Secondly, the post went up BEFORE they went to lunch today. It was up fairly early (my time, west coast) this morning.
  14. I'm quite aware of things like the Bible Bee. :) I am specifically taking ATI/IBLP, and their tactics, to task here.
  15. Well, social media was quiet today. Dare we hope that the greasy Cracker Barrel dinner she had last night (some sort of fried food) worked its magic???
  16. Which reminds me, in that podcast I posted a few weeks back, Boob stated that he'd give $1000 to any of his spawn willing to memorize Proverbs. He said that Jer is taking him up on it. I also recall either Joe or Boob in a voice-over talking about bible memorization as something that earns awards of recognition at ALERT. So yeah, I definitely lean toward cult busywork. I also look for books. There are some in the girls' room, but they look more like little kids' picture books rather than even starter novels like Little House that Hannie and Jenni should be reading at their respective ages of almost 8 and 10. The other book that Jill mentioned was The Reverend Spy. I'm embarrassed that I remember that. :/
  17. Sorry, I just find them pretty narcissistic. But then, look at who we're talking about here. :)
  18. Cross-posting these creepy Glamour Shots made by their photographer, Elizabeth Zellon, on this thread for posterity. https://instagram.com/p/0-1JdDqWiC/?taken-by=ezellon https://instagram.com/p/0-6gNjKWts/?taken-by=ezellon
  19. Who does this? https://instagram.com/p/0-1JdDqWiC/?taken-by=ezellon Or this? https://instagram.com/p/0-6gNjKWts/?taken-by=ezellon They're like creepy Glamour Shots.
  20. They didn't write the vows. They admitted that they got them elsewhere (probably online, but they'll never admit it).
  21. Edited because I didn't see that Absolom posted the correct version of Jessa's dress, from Allure's modest line. LOL because I just got a pop-up ad regarding becoming a wedding planner. Sorry Sierra Jo, Imma putting you out of work!
  22. Yeah, something doesn't add up. How does this person know that the "couple" with Jill and Derick is courting? I saw a pic of Jerick at Cracker Barrel last night. However, the way the person took the picture was impossible to ascertain who - if anyone - sat across from the Dullards. At any rate, the Dullards aren't going to be telling people that Jill's younger sister (and how do they know that? could have been Jana and Dan Dillard!) is currently courting. Too much doesn't add up from the "eyewitness" account, other than that they may have seen the IG picture that I did of them at dinner.
  23. Yes, this is exactly what she said.
  24. Mechelle's mother is long-deceased. She only saw the oldest three or four of the kids. JL died in February 2009. Josie wasn't born until December that year.
  25. Sorry GEML, STILL pregnant!!! https://instagram.com/p/08vS87rs3Y/
