  1. We don't know for sure that JB and M didn't come back to kiss at the end of the ceremony. The end of the wedding had some seriously wonky editing going on around the matter of The (lack of) Kiss. They turned to the crowd, smiled, then there was the long shot of them all running out, after which they showed Schadt addressing the crowd. JB and M could have kissed before his speech. Fact is, we'll never really know. As for them naturally kissing, I saw a pic of them kissing in which his lips were just under her nose, hers were somewhere down in his beard. Oops! LOL
  2. Just imagine Jessa and Ben coming to Mechelle and confessing that they'd kissed before marriage like Zach and Whitney Bates. I don't think she would have handled it as gracefully as Gil and Kelly did. Of course, the Bateses actually allow the kids to set their OWN rules for courtship/engagement, unlike the Duggars, who make that claim, yet every couple has conveniently had the exact set of rules. That old saw about loving someone, them setting them free comes to mind. JB and M are all about the control, and we are now seeing how that manifests in their adult children. The similarly-aged Bates kids are far more mature, and their personalities easily defined.
  3. The Duggars are TLC's current cash cow. I'm sure they get a LOT of perks and freebies. Remember, Kate Gosselin got that treatment before the Duggars' show blew up. I'm sure plenty of businesses comped stuff in return for being shown on air with the DUGGARS!!!!111 So, TLC may not have comped services, but the businesses themselves did. Flowers and the ring spring immediately to mind. If the ring wasn't totally comped, it was likely steeply discounted. I imagine the only things Boob paid for were the things that came off as the cheapest: aka. The Reception, both food and venue.
  4. Fundies, apparently. :D
  5. WW, thanks for checking in to let us know about Maisie's setback. My thoughts are with you both. Glad you're back at the original hospital; their care was exemplary and obviously what Maisie needs at this time.
  6. You didn't imagine it. That's their rationale for homeschooling. Team sports are of the devil! Forget gymnastics or ice skating.
  7. Woah! When Jinger started crying, BEN gave her an almost hug, although Jessa was on Jinger's other side. Does that count as a defrauding moment for Jinger? Mechelle must have blown a gasket!
  8. No, Amy indicated that she would be pretty much out of this "season" [of life] of the show. Jessa and Amy have never seemed close, even on camera. Too alike, I think. As in, posing for the closest camera.
  9. Okay, looking at pics now flooded out from the photogs, the Abercrombie hoodies were bridesmaids gifts (I keep wanting to type "grifts") as well as a pair of Rocket Dog sneakers. Doesn't make it right to wear it at the reception, Jill. And note that Jill didn't wear the shoes. I have a low toebox making my feet officially "wide," and even I can wear Rocket Dogs. If it was as cold as they said in the morning, didn't Jill wear a jacket? Jeeez. Those hoodies were for bonding BEFORE the ceremony, as evidenced in the pics I saw (from Libby Zellon). She wants credit, so here's a pic: https://instagram.com/p/06hhuFKWg0/?taken-by=ezellon
  10. No woman over 40 (Guinn's age) should try to rock a side pony. Especially if one's hair is already baby fine to begin with. My hair is very similar to Guinn's in length and style (although I have more hair and with menopause, it got a little wavy), and I would NEVER do that. She should have stuck with beachy waves. After all, she just had to get through the ceremony and an hour reception. These people corner the market on hairspray; certainly, they could have found something akin to 80's Aquanet to hold up a wavy style for two hours. Maybe 3 with pictures.
  11. 20 years here (I was already a mature "career woman" when I finally settled down). I'd also add compromise. Jessa may be willing now, but will she in five years after she's run Binjermin into the ground?
  12. Jill has those super nice walking sandals that Derick gave her. I think her feet are fine; she just CHOOSES to wear shitty shoes most of the time. Jessica Seewald wore some awesome nude pumps. The other girls should have at least gone with the nude pump, in a height that was comfortable. But NO flats! Joy wore brown ballet flats, and they were HIDEOUS with those dresses.
  13. That was Peyton Weiss.
  14. I propose BINJERMIN. May as well make a mashup of ALL of his names. :D
  15. Jill didn't even wear heels as part of the wedding party. She wore flat, open-toed sandals. So really, no reason for her to change shoes. It wasn't that cold of a day. I remember checking and the temp was in the upper 50's/low 60's. I'm sure she had a nicer sweater somewhere, rather than wearing that crap jacket and winter boots. ESPECIALLY given that as a bridesmaid and a Duggar, she was bound to be photographed during the ENTIRE day. The reception probably only lasted an hour (like Jill's...they pretty much kicked people out of the parking lot of HER reception). For such a short time, why non just deal with it until she got back to the TTH and could change into a different outfit. These people are terrible at planning ahead...with the possible exception of the bride.
  16. Did they really need that supersized light reflector? I get the camera and the boom, but the light reflector is a head-scratcher. I can see a photographer using one, but not one nearly so large, even for her huge wedding party.
  17. The view from Famy's Iphone. Note Muffy in her zip-up hoodie and Uggs. Stay klassay, Jill. As for Jessa, one has to wonder who she's throwing shade at....this time??? https://instagram.com/p/05-YIKNkKA/
  18. It was a screenshot from the "Here's Our Hizzouze!!!!!" video. That explains why it was kind of blurry; they were moving.
  19. Yup, I want Jackson laying my next carpet, and Jill delivering my next baby! The trick is to make sure you've paid up your home and life insurance.
  20. I guess it's official: Muffy's hanging up her stethoscope. Honey, you can't teach if you're not fully trained yourself. Not to mention, there's this thing called continued education.
  21. FWIW, Jessa was nothing more than a grade checker and disciplinarian. She didn't teach those kids anything. I agree that the Duggars can get away with this by putting Mechelle's name on the legal documents filed with the state. As far as diplomas go, the older ones down through Jill definitely got GEDs. After that, they have all "graduated" down to Josiah, but in what sense, no one knows for sure. For all we know, they had to do something regarding bible memorization in order to graduate from Duggar Academy (or whatever it says on their school computers). AFAIK, the GED is still a barometer of learning through 9th grade, as someone noted, likely because that's when students are allowed to drop out. If they're not taking the GED any longer, I hope to [fill in your deity here] that they can at least write an argumentative essay. Oh wait, that would require being able to argue and concede a different point of view. Never mind....
  22. Ugh. They've gone live with a website. http://www.dillardfamily.com/ Read "How I Met the Girl of My Dreams" and question whether Derick's college diploma is real. For someone who expects to write and deliver sermons one day, and is trying to sell himself now, this is some very poorly written dreck. (eta: This IS their site; they posted the link on Instagram earlier today)
  23. They figured out how to have a baby during Holy Week (most likely unless she goes REAL late), AND have the birth shown during May Sweeps! May 5th is the official air date. http://www.people.com/article/19-kids-counting-birth-jill-duggar-may-5-mother-of-all-weeks eta: Note that People is right there with the Duggar PR peeps with this information...they WILL be the ones to break this story...in THEIR timing...Even if Jill gives birth tomorrow, we won't know until Wednesday, since they can't spoil the airing of Blessa's wedding.
  24. Oh, to be a fly on the wall to hear how Mike Seewald reacted to the fall of the leader of Vison Forum, Doug Phillips. What *is* evident from reading his screeds, is that he hasn't let go of the Calvinist theology of VF. That's been passed down to Ben, as evidenced from some of the stuff he quotes on Instagram and FB - often Spurgeon. What I do find odd is that Calvinists are usually associated with conservative Presbyterians, through Scotland. But the Seewalds identify as Baptist. I don't know enough about conservative doctrine, or even Baptists TBH, to know how people can reconcile the differences and still attend a Baptist church. Jessa does seem fully on board with the fire and brimstone that Calivinists enjoy throwing around.
  25. Duggar Family Official posted a video of Jerick, supposedly made yesterday (Sunday) saying that she was still pregnant. The last real sighting that could be confirmed by people outside the family was at the vonunteering stint on Saturday. After that, pictures and a video that could have been taken any time in the last couple of weeks, to be released before they were ready to "leak" the formal announcement to People. So who knows, really? They managed to hold off some "good news" announcements for a while. However, a baby announcement can only be held back for so long before it gets ridiculous. Jill's 41 weeks tomorrow, but she doesn't expect to have Rick James until next Sunday. That's when it will officially become "ridiculous" for me; she'll be 11 days overdue at that point.
