  1. That is a lot of bad decision-making, all around.
  2. Why did they go to the trouble of making Ray kind of likable and getting along with the others and adding Jamie Walters to the opening credits only to wait until now to burn him? And then let him come back and drag it out and make it even worse? I am perplexed by why Jamie Walters would take this deal.
  3. I have been home a lot this week and have been watching this stretch of episodes on Pop. I have really been enjoying them, actually! I feel like this was the last gasp of this show. The writers were still building on ongoing events with the characters, and they were pretty consistent. The new characters really helped out. It is so frustrating to know that after Kelly's coke addiction, this show pretty much stops trying. The SWF Tara nonsense killed it. I am so sorry for the podcast recappers, because this is the beginning of the end. But the end drags out for five more years.
  4. It wasn't addressed, but Kelly's flapper-style dancing with David still makes me second-hand embarrassed for her. What is with Kelly Taylor suddenly being the toast of the town in all of Los Angeles all of a sudden. I will admit I love her hair that short.
  5. What is Dylan doing even. Why did Marchette not kill him immediately. None of this makes any sense, but Rebecca Gayheart sure is pretty.
  6. They were "both sides of the same circle" and did not complete each other. Neither of them felt like swinging from the chandeliers with the others. In other words-- they were both the same kind of asshole, and you can't have two of the same kind of asshole in the relationship. That's why she eventually reunited with Dylan. He is a DIFFERENT kind of asshole than Brandon, and they complete each other.
  7. Nana will be back- she wouldn't miss Steve's 21st birthday party on the Queen Mary! And there will always be the 5 year reunion episode, where she comes back after having failed at just about everything. I always hated that narrative. They should have let Andrea succeed, she did actually earn everything she had.
  8. When has Dylan ever been mean to Kelly while drinking? Just that weird gala Donna coming-out party when he was on his bender, and they weren't even dating then. He is straight up mean to her sober, and she is mean right back, because they hate each other. Don't you try to fool me, show.
  9. Awwww, I kind of love that Andrea just wrote Steve's paper for him. She no longer gives any fucks and has finally loosened up. Surprise parties are dumb though, grow up gang.
  10. It's just so out of nowhere that she and Dylan would get back together.
  11. Does he have a job anymore? How can his dumbass afford that and his car?
  12. Would you look at the size of David's pants in that first shot? I remember that look being a thing in the 90s, but he is way too old at that point to be attempting it. That is 16 year old styling, not 20 year old. I have to say, all the hair on the ladies is mostly acceptable here, with the exception of Donna sometimes. And Claire and Donna spying on Kelly and Dylan is definitely me and my roommate at that time casually noticing our third roommate kissing other boys that were not her boyfriend too. Didn't call her out on it, her business. But we let her know we weren't going to lie about it, if it came up (never did).
  13. Thank you for pointing that out! I won't let my mind go there any more. I agree that the kids looked aged up a bit from 15. I was thinking they were18 or so too. Him dying in 1998 would mean he and Rebecca would have been married for approximately 20 years, a nice round number.
  14. This might not be a spoiler but I am putting it here in case I turn out to be correct. I was just checking the imdb credits for this episode, and the actors playing the Big Three at the funeral are listed as "15 year old Kevin", "15 year old Kate" and "15 year old Randall". Now that may just be arbitrary, as we have only seen them as teenagers in that one episode before, and could just be how they distinguish that trio of actors, and may not mean they are 15 at the funeral. However, the trio of kids that plays them at the birthday parties are listed as "9 year old Kevin and 10 year old Kevin", etc., demonstrating attention to those kind of details. So if this is an unintentional spoiler on the part of imdb-- Jack dies shortly after that episode we saw where Kevin and Randall play football against each other. Oh shit, did they ever make it home from the game? Is Jack going to die in a damn car accident on the way home from the game? And Kevin and Randall have to live with the fact that they were total assholes to each other on the day their dad died?????? I CAN'T TAKE IT!
  15. If memory serves, Rachel was Rachel first. Friends premiered the same year as this season, and Jennifer Aniston's haircut was an immediate phenomenon. 90210 stylists copied it for Valerie.
  16. Ooooh looks like Miguel and Shelley are getting divorced!
  17. No, I am thinking more like both families are in a boating accident and Jack tries to be a hero but dies anyway, along with Shelly and the kids, who he was trying to save heroically while Miguel looks on.
  18. I am completely onboard this theory. And I think it has something to do with Miguel's wife and kids who are suspiciously not mentioned in the present day.
  19. Since it turns out later that Val actually killed her father, her quote about her dad only getting one life so he better make it good really comes out wrong.
  20. Dammit Andrea! Don't tell Jesse that Dylan knows about your dumb affair! Keeping secrets works both ways Chief! You give people who know how to keep their mouths shut a bad name.
  21. For better or worse, I totally dressed like Claire in the '90s, especially that first outfit with the black hose. I didn't have bangs though.
  22. The only Real World parody you need is "The Mad Real World" from Dave Chapelle's show on Comedy Central. It's hard to link to, look it up on Comedy Central's site.
  23. We know that Miguel has/had children, and that they are just a few years older than the triplets. We have now seen Miguel have Thanksgiving and Christmas with The Pearsons, with absolutely no mention of his own children. I find that suspicious. I am going to speculate that Miguel is not on good terms with Shelly and his kids, or else a really awful tragic accident plays in, like, what if Jack dies trying to save Miguel's family in a tragic boating accident? Just an example. We keep hearing that Jack's manner of death will be crushing, so I am prepared for the worst.
  24. What is a student body president for if not to advocate for students? Campus is in the midst of a bike-stealing epidemic. Seems to me this is exactly why the student body needs a president. He could at least request additional security around the bike racks, and perhaps funding for additional lighting. This is a much more appropriate problem for him to tackle than deciding if murderous dictators from third world countries should be allowed on campus.
