Potato leek soup is one of my favourites and I love Dutch apple tarts too. So much good food with 0 calories. Bookends for me too this week, 2/5 0*.

I am so sad to hear this news. RIP wonderful Diesel/Rex. It is going to be so hard to watch the show now.

3/5 0* Friday's answer was in my brain but buried so deeply that I couldn't pull it out.

I am not too familiar with the lyrics of Alanis Morrisette's songs so thanks for pointing that out. It was a good episode, a good mix of mystery and humour. I was totally gobsmacked when Choi stayed with Wolfie. -
I have certainly missed Charlie. I am glad to hear his good news. I loved the puffins from last week's show as much as Rex did.

I am so sorry for your loss @Bliss. The house is always so quiet when we lose a furbaby. I am glad you find this board therapeutic - I do too.

Redwood was my first thought too but then I remembered Sitka spruce.

2/5 and 2* I got Thursday and Friday.

Season 18 Ep. 11 Bombshells (2) Jan. 27 2025 This was a good episode although I didn't like it as well as last week's. The suffragette movement is very interesting but I didn't like them using violence and also I hoped for more about the impending WWI. I wonder if we'll see Julia again this season (or ever). I hope we do - I've really missed her. Poor Mrs. Hart! Will her sad past continue to haunt her? I was so disappointed in Isaiah when he just said goodbye to Violet when he learned that she was married. But he redeemed himself very well by getting his friends together to force the husband (forgotten his name already) to sign the divorce paper. Sometimes violence is justified. -
That's how I've been picturing it - like we're the 51st state or something.

Dying heroically in the war would be a good redemption for Bobby. -
2/5 0* I got Monday and Wednesday; for Friday I knew it was the famous Norwegian composer but couldn't remember his name. At least I didn't say Munch.

Season 18 Ep. 10 The Men Who Sold the World (1) Jan. 20 2025 I really enjoyed this episode. Didn't realize I had missed Julia so much but it was so good to see her. Of course there would be a murder on their anniversary vacation! I figured out who the actual murderer was pretty quickly (probably we all did) but it is scary to think there is such a group of men like this league who go about fomenting wars for their own gain. I'm pretty sure they do really exist. And, now, with the mention of the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand we know that WWI will soon be here. I wonder how that will affect our group. I can just picture Julia heading to Belgium where the Germans commit so many atrocities against the civilians, because that is the sort of brave thing she would do (total speculation on my part). I can see the show getting more interesting as the war progresses. The B plot was amusing and lighthearted enough to counteract the A plot. Brackenreid should have still let them all shout "surprise" for Margaret. Can't wait for next week's episode. -
Ditto. I was going to use the laugh but then thought of the poor little dead mouse.

Congrats to Drew on the win. I loved his shirt. I amazed myself by getting FJ. It was obviously a nuclear submarine but I figured they would want the name and, after thinking I would never come up with it, it miraculously came to me. Thank you, Jules Verne.

Sweet Italian sausage is a staple on our pizzas. I'll use a tiny biscuit cutter to make round mushroom slices.
-
A big fat zero for me too. I shall bring a round pizza with all round toppings: pepperoni slices, sliced black olives, and whatever other round toppings you might want.

Season 18 Ep.09 When Rubber Meets the Road Jan. 13 2025 I guess none of us has too much to say about this episode. It was a good filler episode with a decent plot even though the perp was pretty obvious. And Miss Cherry was her usual self, helpful but at a price. The lack of regulars really left holes in the episode. We didn't even have Higgins this time. At least we had a decent amount of Watts. I suppose they brought Roberts in to help fill the void but we don't know him well enough yet. Anyhow, next week's episode should be very interesting. -
Good episode to start off the new season. I hated seeing Rex having to go through those caves - it gave me feelings of claustrophobia just watching him. Jessie is such a romantic! He really wants Sarah and Charlie to get engaged. I am very glad the show is back.
-
So did I. Yes, they did. I thought they also had a "plug nickel" lately too but the archives say not. Instaget FJ for me. I am glad Drew won but any of the contestants would have been fine with me.
-
Same for me. I got Wed, Thurs, and Friday. I have never heard of Tinder as a matching site.
-
Same thing here about the Jasperware, didn't know if they wanted that or Wedgwood. I don't usually suffer from 'burden of knowledge' but this time I did. And I didn't know either that Darwin was descended from Josiah Wedgwood. Interesting!

Doc is filmed in Toronto so that gives Canadian actors an opportunity to get guest spots on it. -

I did not watch it. They have been promoting the hell out of it for a few weeks but medical dramas are usually not my thing. I looked at the imdb for the episode and saw Rebecca Liddiard was in too, as well as Daniel Maslany. Those might have been just one-offs though, not as regular character. -

Welcome to Paradise S18 E08 Jan. 6 2025 I thought at first this was going to be about a racist murderer but it turned out to be just about money. I liked that it was a good straightforward investigation and I liked the introduction of Const. Roberts. I hope he won't be killed off or turn out to be bad, like maybe working for the mob. Anyhow, this was a very good start to the rest of the season.
