  1. I am so glad Sam won. I vaguely remember Lily, don't recall anything against her. But Colby, I had thought he was generally disliked - I remember not liking him during his original appearances. Instaget FJ. I read the Chronicles of Narnia as an adult after I bought them for my sons and I enjoyed most of them, with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe as my favourite. Only one son read and liked them; the other one just doesn't like to read.
  2. Yeah, I don't know why he needs to have any sort of competitive divide - just draw straws as to who goes against whom.
  3. LOL Let's just hope it's an April Fool's Joke!
  4. That was Ben Hoskins whose sister, Rose, had come to Murdoch to find her missing brother. If they explained how Fellowes knew Hoskins I'm afraid I don't remember it.
  5. I remember Arthur Chu as someone who was not too popular when he was first on Jeopardy! but he seemed so bland last night that there was nothing to like or dislike. Maybe all the contestants were told to tone things down. I remember liking Austin Rogers quite well in his early days despite his quirks but he was another one who stayed quiet. I remember Dave Madden's name but not him personally - or his parrots. And McKenzie Jones I don't remember at all. For FJ I first said platinum for some reason, thinking it looks like silver but more so. Then "living silver" became quicksilver (from 'the quick and the dead', and then to mercury. I did not get Monday's FJ but I should have - my first thought was that it would be a criminal type who would claim his scar as a war injury but Scarface never came to me even though I know full well that it was Al Capone's nickname.
  6. I don't know why Knight's father thinks she has to stick to a plan they (mostly him it seems) made when she was a kid. Things change in life.
  7. Season 17 Episode 22 Why is Everybody Singing March 25 2024 What did you all think of the musical? I see a lot of comments on FB from people who hated it which surprised me a lot. I enjoyed it very much, what with all the singing and dancing and great costumes. Everybody did their own singing. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they all did, especially Julia. And it is always a pleasure to see Sharron Matthews. The plot was interesting too with the added complication of them having to work inside Murdoch's coma. Okay, I know that's not real but it was a good twist to the plot. Now I hope we never have to see Ralph Fellowes again. Even better that he brought about his own downfall. So, it wasn't Once More, With Feeling (my favourite episode of any tv show ever) but it was very good and I would like to see it again. Only two more episodes this season. I wouldn't be surprised if next season is the last but I think I've been saying that for the last few years.
  8. Ditto. I love Rod Stewart. I did get FJ, my first in a couple of weeks.
  9. 1/5 Thank you, Rosetta Stone. I really did feel for Terry, who thought she only needed the name of the town.
  10. Season 17, Ep. 21 - Engaged to be Murdered Mar. 18, 2024 I thought this was a good mystery, ably solved by Watts and Crabtree. They do work well together. Another new friend for Watts? He certainly is a flirt! I like this new fellow although I've forgotten his name. No Julia or Brackenreid this episode and not much of Murdoch either. I am so looking forward to next week's episode - a musical! I'm surprised they haven't done one before this.
  11. Then they'll have another tournament to get enough contestants for a ToC. I had no real clue for FJ but I did think of astronauts. However, that wasn't enough to get me to Gagarin. I am heading for another 0/5 week.
  12. 0/5 Hoping for better next week.
  13. Ghana and Peru are both pretty close to the equator but Ghana is just a little north of it.
  14. Season 17, Ep. 18 - Spirits in the Night Feb. 26 2024 A good solid episode, right up Crabtree's alley with ghosts and all. He is always open the possibility that there really are ghosts and spirits. Season 17, Ep. 18 - A Most Surprising Bond March 4 2024 I really enjoyed this episode. Unfortunately they could not save the nurse who died but Julia's quick decisions and actions, along with the chemical detective work of Miss Hart and William helped save other lives. And the doctor who had fired her previously got his comeuppance. I wonder if the cop who took the bribe will be found out or if he'll continue to be on the take from the Mafia. Season 17, Ep. 18 - Rhapsody in Blood March 11 2024 Another very good episode. I felt so sad that the young composer was murdered until I found out the reason. Then it was okay😉 It was interesting how each one would hear something in real life and it would become part of his or her music. I loved the dreamlike sequences, each highlighting the style of music they played. But I don't know how Brackenreid thought he could suddenly start playing the cello with no lessons and hope to produce anything that sounded like music.
  15. That's what I was thinking about me! At least MV made it through.
  16. And yet, in his latest game, he came across as very personable.
  17. 1/5 0* I got Monday's Ovid and it was all downhill from there.
  18. I am so bummed that Ray lost. So far none of my favourites has made it through. I did get FJ but, like so many, only because he was the only one I could come up with - was very surprised that it was correct. I also got pulchritudinous. How is it that every winner is going to the semifinals?
  19. I've gotta say that one never even crossed my mind.
  20. 2/5 1* Those chocolate eclairs look so delicious!
  21. I said cookie too. Didn't even think of scone and don't think it sounds Dutch. For FJ I knew what country they were looking for and could picture it on the map in my mind, knew it had an e on the end but sometimes not, and still it took until the last second to pull it out of my brain.
  22. I remembered Hannah quite well and was rooting for her but it was not to be. FJ was not an instaget but I did get it in reasonably good time. My son poohpoohed my answer so I was happy to say HA! when I was right since military history is his wheelhouse. It was a fairly good game for me overall. I was pleased to get the ts of The Ransom of Red Chief since I like that story, and pretty much all of O. Henry's work.
  23. I always loved that theme song. I also liked the Ballad of Palladin theme song from Have Gun Will Travel. Ballad of Palladin
