For me it was the year, 1804, that made me think Napoleonic War, Battle of Trafalgar (1805) which Nelson won but he was also killed during it. I never even thought of Captain Bligh - maybe if he had been captain of the Bounty at that time, instead of Warrior, I would have got it - and probably everybody else would have got it too. As to Nelson being a sea bully, I never heard that he was so I really just ignored that part.

I meant to post that too but forgot. I knew it wasn't the Moody Blues but couldn't remember the original singer's name.

Me too! He was adorable. It was so good having George back as a policeman working with the others. Of course Watts was great, as always. Glad to see our Morale Officer gained a little empathy and the sketch lady made a little money and got a job as official Station House 4 sketch artist. She has a thing for Watts and I'm afraid that won't end well for her. -
I don't have all the contestants sorted out yet but I was sure I recognized Kat Turner from Chopped. Turns out she was in the Chopped Legends series, on Chris Santos' team. I like this group of contestants - nobody stands out as an annoying asshole, although it's early - somebody may step up for the position.

3/5 and 1*

I also said Napoleon and was very pleased that I was so close - it was the same battle after all.

4/5 for me too, Tuesday to Friday. Best score I've had in some time.

Well, that was not an uplifting season finale! I was all teary-eyed and sad. Too much sadness in the world.

Season 18 Ep. 17 The Death of James Pendrick March 10/25 I know it was just a cheesy clip show but I enjoyed it - it made it seem like a very old school episode. I was glad to see James Pendrick again, not so much Terence Meyers because he's such an ass. Loved Brackenreid stopping Meyers from taking Pendrick and his girlfriend into virtually imprisonment. Wonder what they'll invent next. -
Second week in a row 0/5. Boo Hiss

Yes, please make sure they're "edible".🙃

0/5 for me too and I don't even have @Mindthinkr's root canal excuse.

I'm glad they've got someone to fill in for Charlie while he's away. There was a pretty big hole left while John Reardon was sick. Such a cute song Jesse and Stella(?) sang at the bar.

I was close to you - I thought either Belfast or Dublin since they are near the GMT zone. I guess London would have been a better guess, although still wrong. I was cheering for Ray but would also have been good with Ryan winning. I have no memory of the woman in the middle. A suggestion for TPTB - when someone is reading the clue they do not show the words and I wish they would.
-
I remember that too. I also remember that, for the longest time, he held the record for top winnings in a single game - until James Holzhauer came along. Finding out he married Julia Collins was a surprise but made me feel good for them.

2/5 0* I got scarlet fever and Albuquerque.

She was the first to go home.

Thank you. Guess I'll have to wait until it's a rerun. And I better check my recording settings too.

Was there a new episode last night? If so my Cogeco didn't record it although it records every rerun it can find - and there are lots of them.

I think Effie is getting storylines that previously would have gone to Julia. And Miss Cherry is a longtime recurring character so it doesn't surprise me when she pops up. I don't know if you watched Frankie Drake Mysteries (set in the 1920s) but one of the main characters, Mary, played by Rebecca Liddiard, was a morality officer so this was like seeing the beginning of her job. She used her access to the police station to help out and really wanted to be a real cop. This particular morale cop was very annoying and seemed to be following Effie around. George will be in Episode 18, March 17, possibly before but this is the only mention I found about him. -

Season 18 Ep 14 A Murder Most Convenient Feb. 17/25 I enjoyed this episode more than last week's. I wondered if the morality cop would show up again and here she is. She was very annoying and took her job far too seriously - Effie should have her charged for harrassing her. Good for Miss Cherry for coming up with a solution. Higgins and Roberts together are about as goofy as Higgins and Crabtree were. Unlike last week's episode where the killer was fairly obvious, this week's killer seemed to come out of left field. Watts and Murdoch always work so well together. -
I don't think she knew how badly her men injured him. She seemed surprised at the extent of his injuries.

I'd be doing a lot better in the FJ contest if they accepted descriptions!

Potato leek soup is one of my favourites and I love Dutch apple tarts too. So much good food with 0 calories. Bookends for me too this week, 2/5 0*.
