No, to me it seemed like a joke. I thought what they did was really unique and, strangely enough, calming. I thought the singers this episode were all pretty good--weakest would be the Ed Sheeran-wannabe; then the Deaf lady; and then the little 9-year-old with the wicked pipes!

It makes them look totally plastic! Kyle, I think, has the best work out of all of them. She looks fantastic. Rinna just becomes more of a caricature of herself.

My child has autism. Even children with "genetic" issues can be a blessing to this world and contribute something great. Which can be hard to say for some neurotypical people!
