  1. Two or Three weeks ago I think? I believe during the filming of 3X16 or 3x17.
  2. TVEcho posted a link in the News and Media thread on whether or not Arrow jumped the shark. (Guggenheim must be so happy). I went to TVTropes to look at what they define as jump the shark moments and I'm putting this in this thread because all of these things make me beyond bitter. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JumpingTheShark I don't know if Arrow has jumped the shark, for me I think it has (even though I keep hoping, against all odds) But we seem to be hitting a LOT of the things that trigger a jump the shark moment on this show and there doesn't seem to be anyone with their hands on the wheel paying a lot of attention to what is going on. I'll leave this super long post (sorry) on this: Run Felicity!
  3. My money is on Quentin. SA tweeted that he did a scene three years in the making and hashtagged it earned. I figure it is Quentin finding out about who the Arrow is which leads to the most famous trope of all, when you find out the hero's secret identity you die. That's one of the few tropes they have managed to avoid. God forbid anyone survives at the alter of Laurel Lance. It also gives the EPs cover to point at a white male and say, "see, we don't just kill women." I believe Colton has a fairly large following from that MTV show he was on, Teen Wolf? He might be adding some points to the younger demo.
  4. I'm really starting to think that Guggenheim's, "what more do you want?" response to the one person's question was a legitimate question on his part. I don't think he has any idea what to do with characters without comic destinies for him to follow. The same for Diggle that he's all happy he's giving Diggle a ring, a wedding ring, like that is real agency in a superhero story. Technically Palmer didn't design the suit, QC did, that's why he was determined to buy the company, for the design. Felicity could have come up with the design, they could even have had her working on it in their precious 2.5 comics, as a response to Oliver and Diggle being no match for Slade's army. Palmer could have gotten word about a suit being designed by Felicity and that's why he was so determined to hire her and QC could still have been needed for applied sciences. Than spend the first half of the season having him trying to convince her that he can make her design a reality and that he's the one to wear it because of Anna. Meanwhile Sara's death makes Felicity more determined to get her designed made and Oliver is so busy dealing with the LOA he won't listen to her about it. So Felicity relents and team up with Palmer to get the suit made. Agency for all. And the only thing changed is some nameless employee of QC doesn't come up the design for the suit.
  5. That dress is so funny. I was sure my husband was lying when he told me it was a blue and black. But I think I've figured out how to see both of the colors (or at least a way that has worked for my family and ended the text arguments). If you scroll down the page that KenyaJ posted until you get to the bottom of the jacket on the dress, stop scrolling, you should see the white and gold color. Once you've seen the white and gold scroll so only the bottom of the dress is visible on the page, you should see the blue and black.
  6. If this is true it could be the best/worst thing to ever happen to Arrow. Best because we can remove some of the, being kind, less well received characters from this show and some of the extremely over bloated cast over there. Bad because I'm sure they will continue to use Arrow to introduce them before sending new people there. But dear god we might actually get Original Team Arrow back. I'm actually tearing up at the thought. Joining Angel1D in her prayer circle. Anyone have any sage we could lite?
  7. Same Starfish35. At this point I'm more interested in ratings when they come back. We have a three week break, long enough for viewers to detach themselves, something I plan on working on. The easiest thing in the world is to look toward next Wednesday and think, "this has got to get better. I'll just watch one more." But wiith a batch of episodes that ended with some of the most idiotic writing I can remember on a TV show, a beyond dark chunk of episodes that the CW should have provided an anti-depressant goodie bag to watch, a major ship stall with a very unliked third party, and every. single. character becoming stupid, I wonder if people will just walk. If they don't, I don't think any thing will change. Going by MG's responses on Tumblr he's to far down the rabbit hole to see the problems.
  8. Thea and Roy, Thea and Laurel, Nyssa, Ray and Felicity and Raylicity all trended briefly. Atom did not trend - even when he flew. rme I can't believe they had Oliver admit that he went up to face Ra's because he's upset someone is a better fighter than him. Diggle should have punched in him stupid head for that. What happened to this show's writers.
  9. In place of my response to this episode I'm just leaving this. Sums up my feelings.
  10. I like the idea of Jane more than the idea of Sif for the romance in Thor. When you have a superpower/god hero it seems to work better when you pair them with an average person, someone the audience can relate to and I'll always be a sucker for a hero that falls for the smart girl trope. Unfortunately Jane Foster suffers from poor execution (not Portman's fault). I enjoyed Jane in Thor, it's my favorite of the Marvel stand alone movies but A Dark World destroyed that character when they had her in London, abandoning her career that the first movie established as very important to her, after the guy she knew for 3 days and kissed once didn't return. So moving forward I agree that Sif is better option.
  11. Portman had a bad experience filming Thor 2. Apparently she was very excited to work with a female director or Kenneth Brannow (sp) both were replaced because of Marvel's rushed time frame. After that she refused to do anything not spelled out in her contract. 60% of her scenes were not filmed with the other actors. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleson both were in Hong Kong to film the final battle, her scenes were filmed in LA and added during post the same for the scenes shot in Iceland (the dark world). If you rewatch the movie knowing that you can tell how often they are using a body double for Jane. So I'm not surprised that she isn't used in the second Avengers movie. I'm excited to see Haley in anything after Agent Carter. I'm just hoping Tony figures out a way to bring Peggy into the future for Steve so she can have a large part in the third Captain America movie.
  12. You do know that the Marvel One shot, that in this timeline would follow after these episodes, has Peggy right back to being devalued by her coworkers and having to work around them because of their prejudice. My comment was in regards to where she will be right after this episode, not where she will be 50 years in the future. I'm well aware of where she ends up, thanks.
  13. Anyone interested in going a little further to try to get Agent Carter a second season, this website lists a phone number for ABC to call and leave a message in support and also an email address. I figured a few minutes of my time is worth it. http://agentcarter.net/want-more-agent-carter-its-all-down-to-you/
  14. Jarvis is married, in 1946, the short for WS was filmed in 1953. The show had a nice scene establishing that the Jarvis - Peggy partnership could continue in the future, lots of things could happen in a marriage in 7 years (death, divorce) if the writers wanted to go with Jarvis and Peggy there is a way to do it. Sousa asked her out and the hypnotist was one more person that alluded to him having feelings for Peggy so he is definitely a possibility. Howard had two wives before Tony's mother, since we don't know if Peggy ever divorce he is still in the running. I'm aware that Angie is female ;) but she and Peggy and are living together and there is a group of people hoping for that paring I thought I would include it so everyone who is "shipping" something could keep their hopes up and visualize the happy ending they wanted. I continue to be neutral on who her husband should be but everyone is cheering for a specific person can find a way to keep that dream going after the ending. I give the writers credit for that. I'm sure Agent Carter fanfic is being born as we speak and everyone gets to feel included.
  15. I think the writers left it ambiguous enough about who her future husband might be that depending on who you are cheering for a case could be made for each other them, Jarvis, Sousa, Howard, Angie. The only one out is Thompson(he was already out because he fought in the Pacific theater) and he can have a seat in asshat corner. So happy they gave Sousa a hero's moment. He deserved it and really had been the only one boardering on being under used. They wrapped up Captain America's portion of Peggy's life but they certainly left enough story open that if they are renewed there is plenty there. Dottie escaped, the Zoula and the hypnotist are together in jail. Peggy's career is going to get overshadowed by guys taking credit for her work. My favorite scene was Howard in the plane and Peggy trying to talk him back, to see how he feels he failed his friend and Haley was amazing expressing her love for him, add in Jarvis being willing to shoot down his friend that saved his wife was very powerful by all the actors. I love Howard and his lady killer attitude. I laughed out a loud a few times. Alice? Lorraine? Ida? His moments of levity were very much needed. I also loved that the show let him express his concern about how his weapons are used. Nice lead in to Tony's change of heart in Ironman. The fight between Peggy and Dottie was just amazing. Great stunt work. Loved the 1940's hanger location. This series, from beginning to end was just fantastic. Peggy Carter is a heroine I will be proud to let my daughters watch in a few years when they are old enough. Hoping - desperately that ABC has some sense and renews this show but even if they do I'll never get enough of it.
  16. That dialogue tease is really annoying me because, yes, I think it is with Ray but the reason Marc tweeted it was because he was asked for an Olicity dialogue tease and the cynic in me is screaming that he deliberately put out this tease as a way to get the Olicity fandom to tune in. Of course he could just have a reading comprehensive problems but yeah cynic. http://marcguggenheim.tumblr.com/post/111927288159/hi-marc-how-are-you-thanks-for-all-the-nice
  17. I'll allow the storyline that Thea is playing both of them just get all her agency back. Actually killing MM is the only way I'll believe Ra's is the big bad because doughy McHotTub can barely stir himself to be imposing. But then why wouldn't Ra's call off whatever his plans are to get back at Oliver if MM, the person who killed Sara, is dead. I should really stop trying to make sense out of all this.
  18. Seems like the reporter that tweeted about the Thea cliffhanger being a "killer" might have been a hint. So I'll go for the off the wall guess that Thea killed Sara willingly and was only pretending to under the influence of MM. The fight for Thea's soul would come in to play if she was playing both Oliver and Merlyn for her own gains. Who had game-changer on their MG hyperbole bingo card? Emmy-worthy, Epic, Game Changer, Free space, the show will never be the same. *Fingers crossed* I'm only missing one. rme
  19. I think the dress is a little to much. I agree with Velocity. It has an ice dancer feel. The makeup is much better, KC tends to go too dark with her lipstick. I prefer this pink color. What I think is aging her and really unflattering is the comb over/helmet hair. That part should have been much higher on her head.
  20. They could have Laurel hang up the mask and go back to the DA's office if Quentin dies (which is going to happen) and they pretend a ADA job is actually like being chief of police, which would work because they have shown no indication of knowing what that job includes so far. I haven't seen a lot of people liking Laurel. I've seen people deciding to stop talking about her out of exhaustion and others saying she's better but they still want her gone. And going by the fact that the first time BC was mentioned on screen they still couldn't manage a trend for it I still think there is a lot of apathy out there for that character. ITA agree with your point above statsgirl that cast is over bloated and that's why a lot of characters are not resonating with viewers. Add to your list Maseo and Katana who's story is interesting now but still feels shoved into plots and underdeveloped.
  21. I'm going back and forth with Thea as evil. On one hand I would like it because at least someone isn't marching lock step with their comic book destiny. Honestly it is just not that interesting to know where everyone is going once I hear the characters name. But on the hand loosing Thea would be terrible for Oliver (so that's probably what they will do). I was also thinking that there were two files, one for Oliver and one for Thea. I'm guessing Oliver will suddenly remember the one for Thea and will conveniently be an explanation from Robert about her parentage and how it never mattered to him and that will allow Thea to make peace with the lies. I agree with you Angel12d that the writers have lost my trust so I'm not counting on half of this stuff leading anywhere.
  22. The wig that Willa is wearing looks like the hair from Oliver's TMZ (under a beanie) hair. So probably just playing around in the makeup trailer. I was rewatching a couple scenes from The Return, does anyone think it's possible that Thea is going to go evil? Slade has two taunts at Oliver, bringing up Felicity and that Thea is lost and asking how many people Oliver can loose before he isn't Oliver Queen anymore. I'm wondering if the writers mentioning those two specific people is foreshadowing, especially with some of the spoilers about the hospital scene coming up or if will end up being a "corrupt the ones he loves" thing where it doesn't go anywhere. Oliver looses Felicity to his maybes/injury/Ray and looses Thea to darkness?
  23. I deleted AOS off my DVR today because of my love of Agent Carter. I know it's not fair but I realized I was never that attached to AOS to begin with and my resentment that it was coming back again while Agent Carter's fate is up in the air was the final straw for me. I prefer just about everything on AC. All of the actors but especially Haley, Jarvis, and Howard. I was invested in the characters for the first episode. I cheer for them. I'm nervous and scared for them and when they die I'm sad. AOS has never managed to capture me that way. I disliked Skye early on and while I appreciate that they are trying to correct her character, I never got over my initial impression. Coulson and May work well in small doses and they lost me with Ward LOVES Skye storyline. Add to it I just prefer a more grounded story. As soon as alien tech started being talked about on AOS I really started to zone out. AC asks me to suspend my disbelief that a super solider is possible but just about every other storyline is realistic and that makes me relate to those characters even more. It's why despite its many flaws I am more attached to Arrow than to the Flash, why I like Batman more than Superman and why I prefer Peggy to Skye. The writing for AC has been amazing. Humorous and smart. I never felt like the writers thought I was stupid, the story never bogged down in the history but the story didn't ignore the history either. I'm free to get out of it as much effort as I want to put into it. I can't go back to watching what I consider a mediocre show when I see what Marvel/ABC is capable of. Someone in one of the episode threads said that it would be like going from steak to spam. I agree. I've got my fingers crossed for more AC and if I can't have that I want Butters? to replace her husband on Arrow in hopes that she could repeat the great story telling this show has on that show and I could have well rounded characters and characters that are developed beyond throwing on a mask and calling themselves heroes.
  24. This so much. Watching this season of Arrow constantly makes me feel like I walked into a room with a comedian doing his act and I missed the set up and I'm only hearing the punch line. The punchline is occasionally enough. I can think really hard and imagine what the set up should have been but at no point is half this stuff coming across in the story. Just this episode alone I found myself watching the island scenes and instead of enjoying the story thinking, Oliver would never bring Thea to the island full of landmines, Oliver would never leave her alone without warning her, Oliver would never bring her to an island where Argus, who has a habit of kidnapping Queens and forcing them to work for them, runs the place, Oliver would never take the chance with her, his last remaining family member, in the same place Slade is, Thea would not be able to use her arm to hold a gun flat out or help with fighting Slade after Oliver dislocated it, and that doesn't even go into the basic WTF with no toilets and one guard that is the Argus prison. And while I'm thinking about all that I get pulled right out of the story. I don't know if the writers just don't care about writing plot and are rushing from one thing to another to get to the action scenes or what is happening but this not how you tell a story. Simply saying, "Malcolm says" is not enough to convince me that any of this should be taking place. Malcom says, "no prison can hold him." "Oh, okay well then that must be true." Malcolm says, "Ra's would hold Thea responsible for Sara's death." "Sure, I don't think it is worth our time to give Nyssa a call and see how she feels about a woman being used by a man." Malcolm says, "we must go to the island to train." "Sounds good. What time does the flight leave?" Every single story plot has this problem: Laurel, Diggle, Felicity, Ray, Thea; every. one. So I'm left sitting here wondering what the set up to things should have been instead of being able to enjoy the story. The longer this nonsense goes on the less the punchline is going to matter to me. Last year they did the same thing but managed to pull off the "joke" in the last three episodes, this year I don't see how that is going to happen.
  25. It was Moira's. Thea mentioned something about her running the company. I'm guessing Walter was CFO at the time and Moira was CEO.
