One of these days they'll have to explain why they don't just tell Iris to take a vacation on Earth 38 for a while. Speaking of which, I guess they don't know J'onn can read minds because that sure would have been handy when they had Abra locked up. Abra is also a moron - if you have a flying ship then why are you opening up your portal so close to the ground? Barry can do a lot but he can't fly. Not much progress on the who is Savitar front although it pretty much has to be a known face. HR leaving to get some nookie for two days makes him a little too obvious though.

Alex responds to her sister having a bounty on her head by.... tracking down her girlfriend's ex? Also, James' brilliant plan was to let Winn, armed with only a stapler, go confront alien Prof. X all by himself, while he went to help Kara even though Kryptonians are a lot stronger than Daxamites? Some friend.

Series regular may just be a way to keep the actor locked up while still having them as a de facto recurring character. It's happened to James this season and over on Arrow it's happened to Thea, Quentin, and Malcom. We'll probably see a bit more of Lena but it's pretty clear that the two most important supporting characters this season are Alex and Mon-El. Unless the actor leaves I can't see them downgrading him (romantic male lead!) and unless they pull another James Olsen they can't push Alex to the side given the importance of her relationship to Kara. That leaves everyone else fighting for limited time unless they're content to stand there and occasionally spout technobabble (Winn) or throw some punches (J'onn).

OK, was Music Meister messing with the weather or did they just not care about continuity? The STAR labs shot was snow free right before they headed out to stop Music Meister. There was snow on the ground at the bank but the city was clear when Wally was chasing him down. However, it was snowing at the location Cisco and J'onn teleported to although the street was mostly clear. However, when they finally caught him the the streets were covered in snow.

Say, isn't James the head of a massive media corporation who presumably has a lot of work to do, especially after mysterious aliens hijack the airwaves? Or perhaps he uses the Oliver Queen approach and lets other people do all of his work. How incredibly convenient for the Music Meister to be led in just when Kara happened to have Cisco's doohickey with her.

Nate is kind of like an amalgam of Ray (doofus, ill-fated romance) and Rip (knows about history), plus he has a potentially expensive superpower (I'm not sure how expensive the Colossus effect is to CGI). There's really no reason to keep all three around and I think the other two have deeper character arcs to pursue. As for Amaya, hopefully the last scene isn't setting her up to try to use the Spear to change her crappy future.

The problem with Jay = evil speedster is that they JUST did this last season. The only difference is that Hunter was evil before he got his powers while Jay would be a genuinely good guy who was driven nuts in the speed force. Jesse said that Earth-3 needed a Flash - what about Earth-2? Even if he was pretending they had one for a while, and that guy is gone. Also, why are they acting like living on another earth is such a big impediment? Apparently traveling between them is a lot easier and faster than dealing with rush hour traffic in LA.

Speed force Eddie to Barry - You suck. Speed force Ronnie to Barry - You suck. Speed force Snart to Barry - You suck. Barry to himself - I suck. For the love of god, I think we get the point - can we move on?
-
I was kidding about that - this isn't Game of Thrones, after all. Although if Barry is so keen on changing cosmetic details then why doesn't he ask Iris to dye her hair, cut it off, change his own costume, grow a beard, etc. At the very least he could find her outfit and burn it.
-
If Barry hadn't been suck a colossal dick to Wally he probably wouldn't have gone off on his own and fallen for that very transparent ploy by Savitar. On the plus side Savitar has slowed down a bit because in his previous appearances the other speedsters couldn't even see him move. I also thing the writers needed to switch the word permission with blessing. Iris isn't Joe's property so he doesn't have a right to decide who she can marry but it's certainly reasonable to get a father's blessing before proposing. Of course, maybe it doesn't matter when a brother and sister get engaged.

I see that Barry is doing his best to become Oliver. Making a good point while being a complete ass? Check. Inexplicably lying to his fiancee when a simple honest conversation would have solved everything? Check. He should run for mayor next. They are once again implying that Savitar isn't just some random guy. To be honest the most logical alternatives are a resurrected Eddie, some version of Eobard, or an alternate Barry.

Cain confirms Sorbo was at least a finalist. Skip to about the six minute mark to hear him talk about it. Given how little Kara and James have interacted this season I'm not sure I see that doing it unless Mon-El deliberately hurt James. Now, if Alex is hurt thanks to Mon-El then he'll be lucky if she doesn't roast him on the spot.
-
Say what you will about Sorbo but the man is definitely more physically imposing than Dean Cain. He dwarfed Teri Hatcher in the last shot and is about the same height as Christopher Reeve. It would have made for a decent arc if Kara hadn't been able to stop the ship. She would have been pissed off enough to reduce the Cadmus facility to a pile of smoking rubble and she might have blamed Maggie for helping Alex out. Plus, Hercules and Lois Lane would have had some leverage on her or Mon-el (we'll use our spaceship to rescue those folks if you do what we ask).

One day they'll have to explain why Jesse moving to Earth-1 is something bigger than a kid moving out of the house for the first time. It's one thing if travel between dimensions is difficult but it looks like it's easier and faster than most people's commute to work. The team likes Harry so he can pop over whenever he wants and Jesse has a larger support network for her superheroics on Earth 1 than she does at home. I really hope the Earth-19 speedster gets more than a cameo soon. My (non-spoilered) thought is that all of the good speedsters will have to team up to beat Savitar so let's add another one to the mix.

Who is this James of whom you speak? In all seriousness, though, in other Arrowverse shows some of the "main" characters are really de facto recurring ones so I think James has become this. Also, the three major Catco characters are either gone (Cat), transplanted (Winn), or irrelevant (James). Part of me thinks they're just reluctant to tear down that set and completely drop Kara's "woman trying to establish her career" angle.

I'm not sure how Jeremiah managed to get away at the end. Fancy arm or not he's not the Flash and he was delayed by his talk with Alex - Kara had more than enough time after fixing the rails to fly back, scan the forest, and round him up. Also convenient for Jeremiah that J'onn tends to forget his phasing abilities. That last punch had a bit of a wind up and J'onn just stood there. It's also unbelievable that Kara, Alex, and Eliza wouldn't be moping together instead of splitting up.

The same way Supergirl's heat vision caused the pavement to explode. Hopefully they remember that the show's title is Supergirl - they need to show more of Kara being the hero and less of her getting sucked into some romantic drivel.
-
Sneak peak of the next episode Apparently "cover me" = cause a crash that has a pretty high chance of killing the bad guys.

Aside from Wally being a regular, it's not clear why Jesse has to be the one to move to Earth-1 instead of him going to Earth-2. Hopping between Earths appears to be a piece of cake and there don't appear to be any broader consequences to going back and forth. They can still live on separate Earths and see each other during their off hours, just like a regular couple. Cisco designed that communicator for Supergirl so there's no reason he can't make another one if they want to chat during the day. Also, it's not clear why Grodd dragged the "dead" Barry out of his cell .... just to dump his body a few feet away.

During Kara and Mon-El's argument right in the middle of the DEO not one agent even turned their head. Is that an unintentional meta statement about how stupid this relationship is? I was hoping J'onn would show up to chew them both out for acting like a couple of stupid teenagers. Also, is the costume really that uncomfortable? There's no reason for Kara to be wandering around the DEO in her civvies.

Oliver Queen running around and stopping crime with a bow and arrow is more realistic than Oliver Queen coming up with a meaningful contribution to the gun control debate in 24 hours. Also, Mayor Queen should be flanked by a platoon of bodyguards at this point. He was almost gunned down as a candidate (when Felicity got shot), was kidnapped in the season premiere, and City Hall has now been shot up. Maybe the budget is stretched to thin to cover the costs?
-
Maybe the next time they have to face a kryptonite powered villain they should send in J'onn first or at the very least not have him wait until the last moment to intervene. And boy are they having fun trolling the audience with Kara and Lena. I guess the producers really liked the Clark/Lex stuff on Smallville.

She'd be leaving Earth-2 without one its greatest (only?) heroes - an Earth which does have a fair number of evil metas (unless they were all rounded up after Zoom's season 2 stunt). If anything Wally should be the one heading over since Barry is already there. Apparently traveling between different realities is quick and easy if you're a speedster so it's not like he'd be saying goodbye to Joe and Iris forever. Regardless, I think the finale will be all of the speedsters teaming up to take down Savitar. We've already seen Barry, Jay, and Wally get their asses kicked so beating him solo seems unlikely.

S42.E14: Alec Baldwin / Ed Sheeran
cambridgeguy replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
Given the rumor that what bugged Trump the most about McCarthy's Spicer is that he's being portrayed by a woman, I wonder if they'll make it a point to have as many of his male staffers as possible played by women. Sessions is probably a one-off but if Bannon ever stops being a guy in a Death costume then I wonder how that will go. Also, they probably won't go there but I also wonder what would happen if the women (mainly Conway) were portrayed by guys as part of a total swap. -
She's Superman's Cousin!: And Other Supergirl Spoilers
cambridgeguy replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Supergirl
It has to be something along those lines since the rescue scene made no sense - Jeremiah should not have been free to run around unlocking cells. It depends on how dark they want to go with this storyline. I can see Kara and Alex being too overjoyed to seriously question him but J'onn had better be ready to do a deep mind scan.
