  1. Trivial Pursuit was played at every party I went to in the 80's. I own 4 editions of the game. Sadly, they now collect dust in my attic. I love the nostalgia I feel when I watch this show. I lived in Jenkintown, PA in the late 1970's and still live in the Philly area. My one pet peeve is that the WaWa store in the show sells alcohol. Pennsylvania has a state-owmed liquor store system, so you can't buy any alcoholic beverages in a WaWa. I love the shout-out to WaWa, but it always takes me out of the story.
  2. My favorite part of the Word was "First ladies-man Bill". I think if Hillary is elected, that name is going to stick. So true about Andy Cohen. I want his ho-wives franchise and his career to go down in flames.
  3. Excellent analysis of Abel. I've become so desensitized to the lunacy on this show that it didn't register with me how traumatizing it must be to see a loved on laid out on the picnic table. Dead and missing an eye no less. Why would they ever expose him to that??
  4. Sutter must have some serious issues with women. All the women, except for Gemma, are portrayed as stupid. Even the educated, professional ones like Tara and Sheriff Althea lose all their brains for some Samcro penis. Gemma, although smart, is as toxic as they come. There's been some redemption for Wendy, but for the most part, women are never portrayed in a positive light.
  5. Febgirl, I would love to hear your theory about the spoiler. I'll be thinking of you when I watch the show tonight.
  6. I think what happens with non-secured credit card bad debt is that it is sold to a collection agency who will continue to try and collect (often for years). I'm not sure but I think it no longer impacts your credit score after a certain number of years, but these independent agencies can still try to collect.
  7. That was an odd statement. Who visualizes a family member's death? I have a sister-in-law that I dislike, but I'm never rude to her and have never spoken harshly to her because I value my relationship with my brother and nieces. They are more important to me than my SIL's crazy.
  8. I think they reason Teresa doesn't want to talk about or have the other cast members talk about it on air is the concern over possible future civil lawsuits. I'm sure that there will be suits brought by people she and Joe have ripped off over the years.
  9. This show is soooo drawn out. They could wrap it up in a couple of 1-hour episodes. At this point, I feel like Bobby is less tortured than the audience.
  10. So true. A sincere spiritual person would not be appearing on reality tv program. She's as materialistic and trashy as the rest of them.
  11. I haven't watch the show in a couple of years, but I did watch the reunion last night. What awful women. I found the twins to be very petty and nasty. Dina is as phony as they come. All that bullshit about not being able to heal Nicholas. Is she some sort of magical being. Her dress and hair were awful. Theresa in the ladies room did make me laugh. I didn't mind Amber. I didn't watch the season so I don't know what she's normally like, but she seemed a bit more genuine than the Dina and the snake sisters.
  12. There a few other things I would like to do with Crane.
  13. I know I am in the minority on this issue, but I like her accent. For me, it adds to the strangeness of her character.
  14. This season seems like filler. I can't imagine sitting through another 5 episodes of this crap. I've been with the show from the beginning, so I'll stay with it to see how it ends, but it's a chore. I can't help but contrast SOA to Boardwalk Empire which didn't get enough time to complete its story. Unlike SOA, I didn't want the BE story to be over.
  15. Maybe the club will get together and vote for Mr. Mayhem to visit Jax leaving Gemma devastated that her lies killed her son.
  16. Did anyone notice the look that Chibs gave Jax when they were talking? It was very fleeting, but I swear his face registered disgust. Am I projecting??
  17. He knows she drove off with his truck after he told her Tara was going to rat on Samcro. How could he not know from the beginning?
  18. What a snoozefest episode. Now they are rewriting the whole origins story of SOA by making JT's death a suicide?? Isn't there proof in the letters that Tara had that JT was murdered? The show is a mess. The story line is incoherent. I feel like Bobby. End the torture and kill me.
  19. I don't really care about the monster part of the show. I watch to see Crane comment on modern life and Abbie's reactions. Being from Philadelphia, I love Crane's comments about Ben Franklin. Franklin knew how to "revel". I don't think anyone is surprised by that.
  20. I think if Nucky had let Gillian stay at the house with Mabel, everything would have been different. Mabel would have had someone there to help her and be a companion to her following her loss and Gillian would not have been raped. Nucky might have become an honorable man. I was cringing when he took Gillian's hand. That was the moment when he sold his soul to the devil.
  21. TLC can say they care about the kids all they want, but if that were true, they would have never put the family on TV. However, they did make the right decision by cancelling the show.
  22. She is deserving of an Emmy. She can make you hate Gillian and pity her at the same time. My favorite scene was her slapping the snot out of the Commodore. I cheered for her.
  23. Any one of the things that have happened in his life would cause trauma. He was also kidnapped as a baby. He may not remember certain events or intellectually understand them, but he is feeling the emotions. He knows on a primitive, subconscious level that things are very wrong in his world. I see those kids as not having any feelings of security which are so important to children. They feel (or know) that their world can literally blow up at any moment.
  24. Many years ago, my toddler pulled a move similar to Jack. He hid in the house and I couldn't find him for 20 minutes. Needless to say I was frantic. When I did find him, I put him over my knee to spank him. My large (120 lbs), mixed breed, gentle giant dog appeared out of nowhere and gently grabbed my arm in her mouth. She gave me a look that said, "Don't even think about it." I knew the dog was right and didn't do it. That was the one and only time I ever considered spanking. My son is now 25 and I still feel guilty when I think about it.
  25. I always found Gillian to be one of most interesting characters on television. She is a definitely a monster at times, but you get to see how that monster was created. That's a rare thing to witness on tv and in real life. One of the things I always liked about BE is that it is (for the most part) character driven. You get to see most of the character's motivations and complexities. Except for daughter. I never got her.
