Grey's Anatomy in the Media: Incident Reporting
PepSinger replied to stopthestatic's topic in Grey's Anatomy
I’m confused; is HTGAWM or AMLT returning in April? -
This is possibly the worst episode of Grey’s Anatomy that I’ve ever seen. WTF? When Alex read Cristina’s letter out loud, and he said the words, “The Sun,” I immediately knew that this show jumped the shark. There is no fucking way Dr. Cristina Yang would write in a professional letter. Again, WTF?

When Kate asked Toby if she should knock Jack down if he started walking without Toby there, I burst out laughing. That was unintentionally hilarious.

EXCELLENT episode. Nicky brought me to tears. Seeing him in the Pilgrim Rick hat had me sobbing bittersweet tears. This is the show I loved.

I’m done. Ally staying over James? That is fucking bullshit.

I find all of these comments regarding “entry-level” fascinating and amusing. I graduated college in 2013, and I “fondly” remember applying for job that were listed as “entry-level.” Silly me, I thought as long you showed an aptitude for learning the program/software and did notably well in college, you’d be considered for the position as it was “entry-level.” I cannot tell you how many times I was told no because I didn’t know a certain program or software. If knowing a program or software is necessary, then just say that; don’t list the position as “entry-level.” I was also amused by “entry-level” positions that listed you needed 2-5 years of relevant job experience. Surprised they didn’t also ask for the blood of 1000 virgins and a human sacrifice because that makes just as much sense. Also, I agree that a son going in to advocate for his mom like that would not go over well in the real world. Totally unrealistic.

To be perfectly honest, I’d marry a guy just for the help to put a fitted sheet on the bed. *shrug*

S16.E06: Whistlin' Past the Graveyard
PepSinger replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Grey's Anatomy
Random thoughts: I agree that Link’s hair is too short in the back and on the sides. Was his barber distracted? I liked Tom yet again in this episode. His reason for hating Halloween actually made sense! Of course, his moment had to be usurped by Bailey. I found that extremely irritating although I did laugh at Tom’s “take it, take it, take it...” I am with whoever said that they kept relaying the zombie babies moment. That was fucking hilarious. I actually really enjoyed Jo and Alex in this episode. The reactions to her costume were funny, and her telling Alex she was pregnant had me. Okay, show, I did laugh. I want Meredith’s storyline to end because it’s boring and bad. I want to see her doing surgery. This storyline is also making her unlikable, and I actually like Meredith. All I’m gonna say about Zola and DeLuca is that I didn’t mind that moment. I don’t think there’s anyone who have just sat there while a child is sad about their dead father and just not say anything to comfort that child. That seems to go against the nature of a normal, caring person. -
I'm glad I somehow missed that comment about Tess's hairstyle. There is absolutely nothing ugly about it. It's a tapered cut on natural hair. Like you said, better than flat ironed or relaxed (or otherwise straightened) hair. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having flat ironed or relaxed hair. It is no better or worse than having natural hair. I honestly thought this age old argument had finally died.

I love Simone’s tumbling. I do. I think her incredible feats on the floor are deserving of a world title. She’s my favorite gymnast. However. I agree that I hate the choreography in between the tumbling. It really became noticeable for me during the Worlds this year. I adore the gymnasts who actually *dance* in between tumbling. One person that sticks out is Melanie from France. I love watching her floor routine because she actually dances! At this point, I think they (IOC) need to decide if they actually want the gymnasts dancing between tumbling or if they should just go the route of the men. This in between land is not working for me. JMO.

I just want to thank you both for stating so eloquently what was beginning to enrage me. Thank you.

The one drop rule had one purpose: to keep biracial people, who were increasing due to rape (and Creoles once the Louisiana Purchase took place) from having full rights as white people. In other words, in perpetuated white supremacy. Slave owners could rape with reckless abandon because they didn’t have to worry about their children actually having rights. The one drop rule needs to back to the hellhole it came from, and we need to stop perpetuating it in 2019. Someone who has a black and white parent is biracial; therefore, they are both black and white. I’m at a loss as to why this is so complicated.

Does Morgan have a chance to improve prior to the Olympic trials? Are there any major competitions after the World Championships that could help her chances?

I think the outrage over the rating of Simone’s balance beam dismount is warranted given the explanation for the rating. They are worried about it being dangerous because you could land on your neck? The entire sport is dangerous. There’s always opportunity for injury. If they want to discourage gymnasts who aren’t ready from trying it, then they need to lower the EXECUTION score, not lessen the difficulty.

The original five (minus Izzie and George for obvious reasons) definitely took them. I remember because Meredith was violently ill during it. It was during season 8. I know what you’re talking about, but that was a different exam. That was the “intern” exam. Basically, it was to get them from intern to resident. The real boards are in season eight because they start wearing the dark blue scrubs in season nine.

How could I have forgotten this?!?! My jaw actually dropped when she said that. Way to be an elitist asshole, Maggie. Why are TPTB trying to make me hate her?

I have a friend whose husband is on track to becoming a pediatric anesthesiologist. He completed med school, a 4 year residency in anesthesia, and moved to complete a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia. Typically, you complete a fellowship to gain further training in a sub-specialty. You are still under direct supervision, so you’re not an attending. Once he completes his fellowship, he can sit for the boards for both pediatrics and anesthesia and be board certified in both disciplines. An attending is a higher ranking than a fellow. My question is, has Jo taken her board exam? I honestly can’t remember. That wouldn’t preclude her from doing a fellowship, but she’d have to take them to become an attending general surgeon. On another note, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, I really like Amelia and Linc. They were the highlight of the episode. Please, show, don’t screw this up for me. Maggie was insufferable this episode, and I normally like her. If they are going to make Koracick jealous and bitter, then there was no need to promote him to regular status. I love how the surgery program is in the toilet because three surgeons were fired. It’s just like last week when Bailey was short staffed because of them being fired. Does no one have PTO? If it’s all gone to shit because three surgeons are gone, then they must have ZERO PTO. Don’t get me started on a fifth year resident competing against a second-year resident. WTF? I’m still trying to figure out where Meredith’s storyline is supposed to be taking us. Also, she looked really young in her final scene with Deluca.

Yeah, Sony’s going to deeply regret this decision.

I watched the infamous senior prom and Donna Martin Graduates episodes on Pop today. Thoughts: • Mel’s line about how he’s going to go into his bedroom and trying to remember his senior prom is such a WTF? Is he going to masturbate? • The gang did a shitty job of hiding Donna. I don’t know why in the hell they didn’t just TAKE HER UPSTAIRS INTO A ROOM instead of trying to get her out through the front door! • I am confused as to how Donna became so drunk. What is the timeline? She had a glass at Mel’s and then a glass or two on the way to the prom. How many hours is that? It just seems ridiculous even though they did say she hadn’t eaten all day and she was the size of a toothpick. • Andrea is looking every bit of her actual age in these episodes. • Gil makes me sick.

The only leotards I liked were the ones worn by the WCC gymnasts.

I watched the US Classic. Simone is just in a league of her own. I do want to see her complete her floor routine entirely in bounds, though. Does anyone know why Simone asked to be taken out of the running for the Pan Am games?

I’m glad this show came back for a season two. It wasn’t quite as good as the first season, but it was still really good. I loved the ending. “No more lies” all around with each of their endings was well done. I hope this show receives many nominations and awards next season. Yes, there were definitely behind the scenes issues, but I really don’t agree with how much criticism this season has received.
