  1. This was so uncomfortable to watch and a major invasion of her son's privacy. Where does the line get drawn? And in the Mexico episode he was so sweet and sincere at his joyful moment of bargaining for the gift he wanted for her. It was a blatant plea for some love and individual attention from his mother which she rejected by humiliating him. Are they trying to edit her to look cruel and callous, because if so it's working. Also, in the Mexico episode, Kate's "best friend" as usual was merely a paid employee, her makeup artist who was responsible for the heavily-caked foundation and overdone eye makeup.
  2. Funny story about why I was curious to watch this one, I was recently on a road trip with my mom and she was reading (am I allowed to mention People mag here?) the article about Jill's long delivery. I've watched the show on occasion over the years, but she knows nothing about the Duggars. While I was driving she provided a running commentary and said she felt sorry for poor Jill, this being her first. She mentioned that Jill's mother was there helping during the home phase of the delivery. "What about her husband?" I asked. "He sang hymns," she replied.
  3. Haven't watched this show in ages, but tuned in to this one. Were those fruit platter cakes for the two youngest girls? I was impressed, as I remember the Duggars aren't an especially nutrition-minded bunch. So Jill's knees were blurred out for the show, but she had her skirt hiked up while some guy did her pedicure? Weird.
  4. What a mess Scott is, I know the whole show is scripted but sure hope the producers had nothing to do with his drunken condition. I'm not really believing the timeline, so not quite sure what to think about when exactly he was banned from his home, was it really after the new baby was born? Why is he at Khloes when he needs to be in rehab. When Bruce just happened to stop by Khloes having no idea about Scott's situation (how convenient) i was distracted by Khloes lipstick-- would love to know the brand/shade. If Kylie is allowed to have her own house shouldn't she be allowed to choose what color to paint the walls? Come on Kris, all white walls are your taste stop imposing it on others. Sure hope little North didn't catch a cold after filming an entire video outside in the rain with no hat and her hood hanging down her back. Did her parents think a hat or hood might make her less cute, compromising the artistic value of her dads dumb video?
  5. Exactly, what was solved here? She even admitted she would have been intimidated by that male spy of hers back when she was younger and working in retail. The guy was acting weird so the girls were keeping their distance. It is NYC after all, why not hire a security guard instead putting the responsibility for security on the "dolls" when they should be focused on selling.
  6. I haven't watched enough of this show to understand what Scott does, exactly. But it seemed irresponsible of Kris as well as the producers to set up an event where he would be tempted to get drunk considering the struggles he's had. Even if he wasn't a father of two with another on the way. Kris just happened to be looking at Rob's hilarious Christmas socks in the Neiman Marcus catalog when Scott stopped by her office. Even if the episode was actually airing in December I wonder how many socks that shout out would have sold. It doesn't look like the dash dolls are on commission. Looks like they are typical low-paid retail employees who probably couldn't care less if people steal stuff. good thing Kim thought of an "amazing way to solve the problem." Video surveillance and undercover security--brilliant, nobody in retail has ever thought of that before! That big showdown scene that ended in smiles all around--so phony. Problem solved. Doubtful.
  7. Weird to see Khloe as a blonde talking head intercut with her scenes with Malika where she was a brunette. Also, blonde hair is not flattering on the Kardashian/Jenner women if Kim and Khloe are any indication. Lol at Kris and Kylie alone on a giant roller coaster. Did they open the park early I wonder, or just close off the ride to the public while they shot the scene.
  8. Ok, that makes sense since she and Scott seem to be the most intellectual members of the clan.
  9. Ya totally, has he had his lips done again?Lol at the "Genius Bar" sisters trying to figure out what jump the shark means. I know they went an expensive prep school, but did any of them go to college? Not that you would learn that expression in college necessarily but they seem fairly illiterate. Poor Robert. Valentine's Day socks, really? He's not very famous, so if his fancy overpriced socks are selling, I wonder what percentage of the buyers even know about the Kardashian connection. And if they aren't selling I have this vision of Kris sending assistants to buy tons of them in dept stores and online, just so Robert can feel like a success. ETA I just looked up the socks and they do have his name on the label. Still wondering if the name is an incentive.
  10. When I saw Kris' makeup artist dipping into the black gel eyeliner I wanted to wrestle the brush out of her hand. I'd like to see, for once, Kris without tons of harsh black eyeliner and perhaps a longer and more flattering hairstyle. In better hands she might look less like a Disney villainess. And I don't really get the extreme nose job, I've seen pictures of her when she was younger and her nose was pretty small. Maybe others on the show have had plastic surgery but to me only Kris, Kim and Bruce look like they overdid it and are heading towards michael jackson territory.
  11. I hate that I even know this, but I thought they didn't do one this past Christmas, because Rob and Bruce didn't want to participate. So maybe they are done with that tradition.
  12. I noticed the book "Spencer's Mountain" is on sale on Amazon kindle today as a daily deal, for $1.99. It has a picture of John Boy, Olivia and John on the cover.
  13. Ah ok, I spoke too soon. Khloe is a good choice. Considering Rob's current mental state she is really the man of the family anyway. What was up with the gingerbread houses ( at least 12 of them, identical) in rows on Kourtneys dining room table. I guess this was filmed around Christmas. Who needs that many. I found this episode so dull that I spent the last 15 minutes wondering if they were intended to be gifts or decorations.
  14. So Kourtney is now the designated plug-puller should the family ever have to make this decision about Kris? Hmm....not sure If that's wise. Of all the daughters Kourtney seems the least attached to her mom. In fact, with Kim being the clear favorite daughter I've always sensed some resentment emanating from Kourtney.
  15. I've watched some of the DVD's with MPK's commentary and didn't get the impression the viewers were always expected to side with Carrie. She was flawed, self-centered and neurotic, definitely. She's a very polarizing character who seems to bring out the worst hatred in some viewers, and perhaps at some point the writers realized that as long as viewers loved to villainize and hate on Carrie, they had a winning formula. Plus, the show was about single women with her as the central character, so if she were to act the "right" way and have a healthy relationship there would be no show. Instead they capitalized on her singleness for six successful seasons. I never really got why Big's character gets so little hatred, in contrast to Carrie, for his part in the affair which he initiated aggressively. Yes, Aidan and Natasha were innocent victims, but wasn't that equally his fault?
  16. I don't think Kim's nose looks different, besides when would she had have time for a nose job which would have required her to go into hiding for a minimum of 2 weeks. The press covers her every move, they would have noticed if she was out of commission for that long. Kourtney & Kim are looking more like Kris every day. Poor Rob. Either he wants nothing to do with this sh**tshow or he's been banished because of his weight ( I forgot, did he lose the weight last season?) Maybe he's too busy with his sock line.
  17. I was just as frustrated as Trump with Ian's backtracking and confusing claims that it was La Cucaracha but it wasn't. If he had just shut up he might not have been fired.
  18. I was just going to look that up, it's such an ancient song I thought for sure it would be. Not surprised Brandi didn't know any better but you'd think Trump might have. But it was dull and unimaginative and I think it still would have lost.
  19. Thank you for taking the time to explain this CherithCutestory! I'm on to S2
  20. Just finished this episode, I'm new to the show and binge-watching S1. I'm trying to understand what is going on re: Mendez and Red, so I hope it's the right board to ask: Has Mendez been bringing in heroin and distributing it in return for sexual favors? And has Red been using her connections at Neptune to supply him with pills? Are the pills for him or to distribute, and if he has the connections to get heroin why can't he also get the pills, whatever they are. Maybe I missed some key dialogue somewhere but to me this whole plot thread has been somewhat confusing.
  21. I'm probably biased since I'm a big fan of the movie, have even watched it on DVD with MPK commentary. Agree on Charlotte, she really stole the show. Loved the affection between her and Lily and the way they were often dressed in similar outfits, it was so cute. I also liked the scene where Miranda asked if she should tell Carrie what she said to Big at the rehearsal dinner and Charlotte wisely advised her that it was not the right time to bring it up. Carrie was self-absorbed as usual but Jennifer Hudson provided some much-needed youthful, enthusiastic contrast to many of her scenes. I was totally bored with Samantha's obsession with the guy next door. Miranda--well she was carrying a lot of weight being the main breadwinner with a job that required her to work many hours, but I was still fairly sympathetic to Steve and was glad they worked things out. As for the makeup on MIranda, well, let's just say of the four women I think Kristen Davis is aging the best. The others' age really showed on the big screen. But there was one scene where they were in the café and Samantha had her hair pulled back off her face and she looked absolutely beautiful.
  22. I watched "The Book" recently in which the writers seemed to have some fun with John Boy's ego, inflating it to the point where his own Grandma wanted to take a switch to him. Only to have him deflated and publicly humiliated when the "publisher" turned out to be a vanity press. But overall I like John Boy as a character and enjoy watching Richard Thomas in The Americans.
  23. And strumming the guitar singing Joni Mitchell songs. I guess Drew's car still won't start and he can't bear to sit through another awkward ride with Hank, so he decided to sit out the whole baby thing. Totally agree with those who commented Joel and Julia should be in counseling, as should their family. Strange that it was a big part of their breakup but there's been no mention of it throughout this season, although they've clearly emphasized a need for it with the daughter acting out, the son having a hard time with the adjustment, etc.
  24. Fair enough, is Kmart the exception or the rule? Regardless I don't see any of last night's videos going viral and increasing sales as a result, but just having the brand featured on the show may help to increase brand awareness. When they see a large selection of K-cups, I'm guessing Chock full o'nuts is not the first option that most people would go to, maybe this will give it a boost.
  25. Agreeing with the Madding Crowd post above, sorry haven't mastered quoting others on iPad. Did Joan contribute anything at all? Agreed the idea of luring women into a trailer to look at some expensive shoes which they should then rush off to Nordstrom to buy seems so dumb. One thing I learned in this episode was that Manhattan finally has a Nordstrom! Looks like it opened in 2012.
