  1. I worked with a woman who named her daughter Brandi. Brandi married a man with the last name of Alexander. Really.
  2. I am this way too. Whack-a-do thyroid plus general nature has me carrying a jacket or sweater everyplace I go. I feel my best when I step outside and feel hot sunshine on me.
  3. Could it be that Jinger has an undiagnosed hyperthyroid condition which could give some of the same symptoms? I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on tv but I have a bit of personal experience with a whack-a-do thyroid.
  4. Is dandillard fundy too? The fiancée is wearing normal clothes with knees showing. Should we expect long skirts and mustard sweaters? Or is he more mainstream?
  5. What the F&$? is happening in the world?
  6. Look at the size of his head compared to hers!! She is a tiny thing. Looks older than him
  7. Aannndddd- the most interesting part is the comments!!
  8. Some states have relatively good benefits but it is a trade off for lower salaries which mr lookeyloo and I both knew when we made our decisions to have a career in state government. We are also lucky that some genius (and I am not being sarcastic) took the pension system outside the control of the legislature and it is strong and healthy. Good thing because we couldn't contribute to social security. The health insurance mostly was very good until the previous governor of that state got his hands on it and spent down the reserve on other things so he could keep Grover Norquist's pledge. I was lucky to work at a university before I retired and by dumb luck chose the health insurance plan that the legislators have so it is pretty good. At least for now. That state did not have an exchange - I don't remember reading anything about not being allowed to use the change. There were options available inside the system but all of them cost the employee.
  9. You will be fine. The worst part is the prep. After that it is a cakewalk. At least my two were. Had the scope also with esophagus dilated. A lovely sleep. You won't remember anything. And you only need enough prep to make things run clear a few times. For me it was about half. Drink it cold. Stay near potty. When it works it works. Very survivable. Report back in!!!
  10. Beautifully written Happyfatchick. I've never been in that position. My mother in law is In a home because of dementia. It isn't Alzheimer's - she doesn't speak much at all. Sits in a wheel chair. Sad. But luckily the father in law has enough $$ to keep her where she is and can visit her every day. I can't imagine how hard it is for all of you caregivers.
  11. Cherry - that sounds dismal. Is he lonely so that's why he bothers you? Or just annoying in general. I had no feelings for my father either but he lived too far away to bother me. Find him a new wife! Kidding.
  12. Mr. lookeyloo is looking for racial/genetic info on his father's family since his father was adopted and there are secrets around it. Which one would you recommend.
  13. Great Story as usual HFC. I'm sitting here with a head full of color solution. Trying a new brand and a new color called Cappuccino. We are leaving later to go to the Pacific Northwest to see the Grands. Ask the son to wave to us. I am the old lady with cappuccino colored hair with the young husband with the mostly salt and a little pepper hair. Easy to recognize, haha. So, I wonder what I will look like. I need a haircut but not desperately. Rogaine hasn't started working yet. If ever. I have the color on my white eyebrows too. They don't take the color as well. I have 6!! doctor appointments coming up when we get back. The lady who cuts my hair works at a Pigtails and Crewcuts and is only there Monday and Tuesday. No appointment needed, just the right time to get there. Somehow I missed this but, it is gorgeous hair. As far as the pizza stuff, looks like normal people live there.
  14. Well, Jilly and Izzy look clean. Derick looks either greasy or sweaty and in need of a cleansing shower.
  15. Does Kody really have that much authority over any of them? He struts around but they seem to ignore him. At least on TV
  16. Great look Andalusian - love the red lipstick. Also try collagen for the hair. I'm about a month in. Fingernails growing faster. Can't tell about hair yet.
  17. We come from a family of slow developers. Grandson turned 16 the other day. It was well into his 15th year that he grew over 6 inches and his voice began to change. Huge difference once it started. So there is hope for James. We haven't heard him speak to see if his voice is changing.
  18. Happy - one of my friends is mostly gray and whenever we stood out in the sunlight (she is from former city so don't see her now although we text every day) her hair would glitter like real silver. I always said to her "your hair is gorgeous". Hers is thick with a nice wave and she wears it shortish and bouncy. What with my tiny head and thinning hair (medication induced) I am in a battle with mine. I use a red laser hair max and I don't know if it helps after 2 years but it hasn't hurt and the doctor recommended Rogaine. I'm three weeks in and it will take a few months to see if it works. I have tried a lot of thickening shampoos and other styling products. It does behave better when it is freshly colored.
  19. Welcome to the grandmas on the forum! I have three human grandchildren and two canine. When I was a little girl I had copper curls. Like a new penny my mother told me. And she saved a curl for proof. I lost track of it but we had it long enough for me to remember looking at it and thinking what? My hair is straight as a stick and very dark brown. She "said" when she cut it is when it grew back dark and straight. Maybe it was just my baby hair.
  20. He was much more engaging the second day. Maybe he was tired the first day.
  21. right on MarysWetBar - my natural youthful color was very dark brown. I use a medium natural brown now. When I tried to go lighter, no one liked it. I'm 72 and I don't think my aged skin tone would support blonde. I have known several women with hair like mine that don't color it. They are striking but they have different features. One of my not so attractive features is a tiny head. Really. Kids hats fit me. I don't think I would be striking at all. Plus Mr. lookeyloo is 60 and I don't want any more reason for people to think I am his mother!! so far so good.
  22. I agree. There are some good things on the market, plus you can go to a place like Sally Beauty supply if you don't already, for some other choices. I tried that route once and it was fine, but took too much energy than others. I am partial to Nutrisse right now. They have some coppery colors.
  23. That is a dilemma. I've been coloring my hair for about 45 years. I had it done in the salon once and the results weren't any better than the boxes I buy. I am very gray under the boxed mediums brown and thinning because of one of the medications I take. I'm sticking with the boxes. There are a lot to choose from. Let us know how it goes.
  24. I think Spurge is cute. My kids loved those things. I never thought to take the tips off. But then again, they never pulled them off. We had the springy ones and they liked to flick them.
