  1. Does Agent Hannah Wells do every job at the FBI? She tracks down spies and bombs, she gives briefings to the president, does cyber security, surveillance and evacuates people from radioactive sites. Lots of overtime on her checks!
  2. I know most people here are irritated by the drug commercials but Linzess has reached a new low- literally showing two people sitting on their toilets! It's bad enough I have to hear about their personal digestive issues and the fact that this drug you are trying to sell them may cause bloody or black stools but I have no desire to watch them spending "too much time in the bathroom." Make it stop!
  3. I liked the nuanced story about the bombing and the impact it still has on people and policy. But Henry needs to take a giant step back from his son's relationship. Wow. I'm all for him telling Jason that it is disrespectful to just drop Piper and that he needs to talk to her in person. But the whole "text her right now, we're going over there" was a bit much. He deserved every bit of that awkwardness with the mom.
  4. My husband's guess was sick/dying and mine was financial problems and she needed to move in. But guess she was just having a lull in the old family resentments. I also liked this less over the top episode. Good to have Dalton back and he had good reasons for hesitating to get back to the job. I liked how his brother was there now but they showed he still has some struggles (ie anxiety about being at the signing). Made him a more realistic character.
  5. Glad to see that I was justified in my decision to walk out of the theater. Of course, you expect sex and seduction to be a part of a spy thriller but the rape scenes were unrelenting. And I could not see a redeeming value to sitting through any more. The first half hour of the movie was good and the dance portion was well done. And was integral to the plot but after that it all became a miasma of sexual assault and manipulation.
  6. Went to this tonight with friends. First time in memory that I walked out of a movie. All five us just couldn't take any more.
  7. I believe this is a dig at Pampers since their newborn diapers are called 'swaddlers'.
  8. I was just going to comment on that Metro PCS commercial with the griping wife, too. "Go slowly, like your network" Hate the attitude and tone. Plus, you just got pulled over for speeding and I'm supposed to feel sorry for you because your internet connection is too slow. No, slow down and drive the speed limit so I don't have to worry about you crashing into me while you're checking your phone to see if there are cops around. Your commercial is a fail all around.
  9. First of all- both cases and everyone showed up dressed as if they were going to court. Refreshing. I think JJ got the scams on both sides right. While I believe that Mr Doublewide was injured on his job resulting in the first big settlement the landscaping on the side is a bit of a red flag for long term SSI. And the disabled granddaughter was something else. Poor grandma. But the person who's health I was most concerned about was the adult son, Michael. When the camera shifted to him it was painful to look...the blotchy skin and that eye! I have no idea whether that was pink eye or something more long term but it made me flinch. Second case- the plaintiff so obviously ran up onto the traffic leaving himself nowhere to go but the plow into the construction barrels. And in the hallterview he admits it; saying he didn't think it was that big a deal and maybe he was distracted. Get off the road then.
  10. It looks like he's out in the desert to bury a body or something else that I don't associate with good smells. (I might watch too much Dateline).
  11. For a few years I worked at a Harry and David shop (yes, the one with the pears) and each Christmas we would watch, amused, from about Dec 22-24 as the men would come pouring in. It was as if they just realized Christmas was actually happening. So that commercial cracks me up. But to the point about the song choice I think in the mind of the agencies as long as they don't at the questionable part of a song then they can act as if it doesn't exist.
  12. I just saw a commercial MM shaking Doug Lewellen's hand saying, "Welcome back". I have so many questions...can this be true? Would it mean that we would be rid of both hallway Curt and creepy Harvey? Tried to watch today's rerun but since it Tivo'd couldn't Harvey without ff. Besides gold allergy woman wasn't very compelling again so soon.
  13. I was sure Eli was going to say "I think you should divorce Peter." Or because it's Eli something more like "It would be okay if you divorced Peter." But instead he really reached deep in their history- was not expecting that. Hope the blond mom has a restraining order against the creepy doctor. Hate to think he would decide it was a good idea to go to her house and apologize. Take up yoga or kickboxing or writing fiction but leave real people you know out of it.
  14. Omarion Hood showed absolutely no shame for being a minor who steals his cousin's truck keys, sneaks out of his aunt's house and then steals and wrecks the cousin's truck into a neighbor's car (among others). Not even a slightest bit of embarrassment while he calmly explains to JJ how he didn't want anyone to wake up so that he could commit this crime. He even had a cover story that a man with a red bandana did it. And then we see why- Daddy stands there and explains that he thinks it's his sister's should be responsible since it's her car. And again, no shame, although Daddy did mange to say he was sorry it happened to the neighbor. Misty and Tammy, the bathroom buddies who decide to make a shaky motorcycle deal (Sadly this was the most interesting part of the case- was it at the sink, in the stalls, I don't know how this happens).
  15. Just saw that there is a special on tonight on the CW called "Greatest Holiday Commercials Countdown" (9 EST/ 8 CST) Could be fun.
  16. I did not notice during the first airing but the African Queen vs the Baseball coach are from Shawnee, KS. That is the next town over from me. Yikes- I'm heading to Shawnee for a meeting tonight. Hope to make it out without a "1-2-3 on my head". Guess it's better than my former state of residence, Minnesota, which has to endure it's dirty laundry drug out every week.
  17. NowVoyager, this is a fabulous idea. The Post-Hallerview Restitution Fee. $1000. bonus dollars to the other side for each insult, name called or admission of truth that was omitted during the case. Full bonus $5000 for admission of guilt and showing that you perjured yourself in court.
  18. Teddy is finally becoming the mayor Lamar set him up to be. Full of strong arm tactics, embezzlement schemes and cover-ups. He's going to fall hard and fast. Poor Teddy, never chooses well. Loved Avery's goodnight song. So soothing and sweet. Glad to see Layla is opening her eyes to Jeff. No use having all these bad life experiences if you aren't going to learn something.
  19. Yes, Yokosmom, it was a bizarre case. I just saw for the first time and was stunned at all the bad, testosterone-fueled, short sighted decisions made by both sides. The teens were foolish, impulsive vandals and the adult homeowner was a rage-filled maniac. There were so many places where everyone could have made better choices, but once the homeowner got into.his truck with guns there was not going to be a good ending. And his kids were just so sure that their brave, strong Daddy was only out to protect them. I wonder if they've realized that he had his own agenda of proving how tough he was and making the teens pay for being in his driveway. I've no doubt the family was frightened but the overreaction was tragic.
  20. I really liked it as well. It is so true that sometimes you just can not power through even when the life around you demands that you "have to". It felt very real and appropriate to what Elizabeth had experienced. Looks like more peril next week though so hope her counselor is a good one.
  21. Basketball goal guy was a slimeball covered in slime. He refused any knowledge of a single thing- ownership of the goal, whether he was playing, what the landlord said to him, there was not a thing he was going to answer. The best was his refusal of recognition of his own apartment building after the plaintiff pointed out where their apartments were. Glad it ended with the plaintiff getting his car fixed and slimeball is in the process of moving so he wins both ways.
  22. JM did get a little worked up with the homeless advocate/'published' writer/not indigent guy. But it was hard to blame her. He is well spoken and also well entrenched in permanent victimhood and is never going to concede fault. He had about as much motivation as Skipper Walker, the almost builder of the motorized bike trailer. Just couldn't quite get those parts put together. But he had the parts so he should have certainly kept the $500. And I don't remember anyone resorting to "It is what it is" so a good day overall.
  23. They were at the friend's house where they were having dinner at the beginning of the show (sorry I can't remember her name). That was the teddy bear that Elizabeth sat on at the table when her friend told them she lost custody. And the envelope said ' Bess'
  24. Oh no, you are not alone in that assessment. And we weren't the only ones- if you watched the guy in the blue plaid shirt and the woman next to him with the long hair directly behind the plaintiff, they were giggling, gasping and reacting the whole way through. I think furniture guy was correct in the hallterview when he said he hoped she took her medication. And her hallterview comment about not doing business with "those bunny rabbits" sealed the deal. Case #2 with Leo the stubborn Ipad owner vs the pooper scooper was entertaining in the pure negligent delusion of Leo. That man was never going to admit that it was stupid to leave electronics directly under a water source. As JM said, you have to worry about his safety with those decision making skills. Case #3- car payment rip-off with former family friend and nasty ex-boyfriend. Blah, blah, blah....then crazy meowing voicemails (grown man literally meowing on his ex's phone). Sadly they have a child together.
  25. It has always been my thought that if I was so unfortunate as to be a victim of a crime in my house I certainly wasn't going to make it easy. And I would never want it reported in the paper that they came in through an unlocked door. These parents must certainly be filled with guilt for that. Impossible to know if he wouldn't have just found another way in since he knew she was alone, but made it too easy. Go park girl! She stayed tough and focused and without her there would probably be more girls dead.
