  1. Well, that was depressing all around. There was really no upside for Peavey to be on this show as they had to be aware that their financials weren't going to keep the plant open and certainly weren't going to be able to make improvements from what they learned. Instead they've revealed their CEO to be a jerk, their undercover COO to be clueless and got terrible PR by not only closing the facility that put two of the featured employees out of work, but haven't even paid them the rewards from the show!
  2. This was an awesome JJ day. Liars were being revealed in case after case and justice was served. Miracle and Malika were so smooth and practiced in their lying skills. Hey, mom, their grandma sleeps with her purse behind her head so that your brats won't steal from her- it might be time to get a clue. The plaintiff better have this tape on hand for future incidents as I can see these two trying to say he attacked them, tried to molest them, etc when caught in a lie in the future. That phone call was golden. The bike case was looking bad for the driver until that bus footage played out the truth. And the bike rider was still insisting that he didn't do anything wrong. And the $10 poker criminal- seriously? What is wrong with people? And hey, Mrs. poker criminal, way to exaggerate- 50% Minneapolis has dreads. She is a smooth operator. If she and poker criminal ever have kids they are sure to be Miracle and Milika clones.
  3. Glad Dmitry won. I loved his black coat with the swirls on the sleeves and no one seemed to mention it at all. I liked his theme of a woman with a carefully chosen collection of fashion and his clothes were the type you would buy and be able to wear for years (classics). The lace and see through thing with the "underskirt", bras, hot pants.... can it just stop? As much as I like Sonjia and loved her color choices it just ruined the whole collection to see that redundant look thrown out there again. Yes, we can see your underwear. Yes, I'm sure you feel sexy/confident/edgy. The beauty of lace though is in the design and intricacy of the lace itself; not in the fact that your undies are showing. Love Mira Sorvino and loved her calling out the time factor! Zac jumped on it quick so she didn't pull back the curtain to reveal the greatest flaw of this show. She had it right and they could not let her actually bring it out as a topic. Glad Alyssa had a healthy baby, but she should really consider not signing up for projects during the last stretch of any future pregnancies. That looked painful.
  4. I was pretty intrigued by today's collision case- I know that intersection! I drive within 3 blocks of there at least a couple times a month. The restaurant parking lot that eye witness was having his cigarette was probably by Po's Dumpling and a Chipotle. And lying teenager probably wasn't trying a hit and run, but looking for a place to pull over. A very busy area, with full on street parking and few parking lots. But the rest of her story was pretty bogus. The horse woman had a point. JJ is asking she knows about something to do with the horse and the answer is someone told her. But if the words someone told me come out of your mouth you get yelled at. Then yelled at to "Answer the question." I thought her response of "How do I answer you?" was valid. JJ doesn't have to consider the heresay, but allowing someone to explain that is where the info comes from is easier than yelling them down for answering her question.
  5. Should not watch The Mentalist right before this show as I fully expected Scarlett to pull a gun as she came back into the bedroom and shoot her mother so that they could get her liver after all. If looks could kill that liver would have transplanted tonight. Oh, Teddy, you've been a bumbling fool in all your other relationships except as a father, until now. At least Rayna seems to be spending little time as an attentive mother right now, but the next distraction is always around the corner. The song with Rayna and the girls was great. Good music overall. Been a while since I turned up the volume for the music on this show. LOL, Sandytoes, we were rewriting the script together! Imagine how angsty Scarlett could be in prison serving time for murdering her mother to save her uncle's life.
  6. Is that how it was spelled? I almost rewound to look but didn't make the effort.
  7. I thought he had Vladamir Putin's eyes and complexion. He needed to kindly refer that sweet, scrappy computer user on to someone who can really help her. How hard would that be? Today's auction case was just sad- did he look at that jewlery up close before bidding? No way were those diamonds in that snake bracelet and we barely got a glance at them on screen. I'm hoping the bidder does a little more research and isn't so naive in the future. And autioneer guy thought he was still so smooth and the JM was swooning over his crazy snake bracelet. No accounting for taste, was her reply, but a little more nicely put.
  8. No kidding. No wonder she has no influnce on her daughter dating an "older man". Once you raise them as spoiled and surly they turn on you. One look at the rental/event agent and I barely noticed her pink hair- that wrap around cheetah necklace was all I could see. I had Mr. knitorpurl open his eyes (he actually naps through this drama when he gets home early enough) to show him a "classy" Valentine Day gift idea. He promptly returned to napping. Can't imagine how much that piece of jewlery weighs around your neck.
  9. I felt bad for the QVC woman looking at those choices. I can just imagine her having to go back to the QVC execs with half that stuff. Sonjia was really the only option as the rest was just not feasible for selling to the masses (once they lower the hemline of the underskirt). I liked her yellow dress as well- it was to be fashion forward so the crazy neckline didn't bother me, but liked it better without the jacket. Michelle's print was big and busy, then her design was big and busy. Looked like the 1975 Butterick pattern catalog. I liked Dmitry's yellow dress, but neoprene is the strangest choice for ready to wear. I would love to hear a QVC host trying to talk up the positives of that "fabrication" (the QVC word of choice for fabric). Fabio's dyed fabric was just a sad, pastel mess. When I clean up the mess that kids make after painting the Clorox wipe will look exactly like that. Adding a sagging ribbon would not make it a fashion forward dress.
  10. The twitchy, blonde defendant in today's dog attack case was a bit scary. I don't think she has "anxiety problems" as she claimed- thinking her problems are a little deeper and wide-ranging than that. Think the ruling was fair because there did seem to bit of padding in some of those claims the plaintiff was asking for. Don't blame the daughter for being nervous, wouldn't want to see either the dog and the neighbor outside. Attic insulation guy was quite patient with that woman as a client and was still willing to go back after all that and help her! Had to laugh as he referred to her a pain in the rear to his secretary, 'cause she was a pain as a defendant. Started off good and just got more hostile and unreasonable as the case went on. You have a year guarantee for a reason- critter removal isn't easy. Those animals are tricky so he might need to give it a second shot. And you had brand new insulation, which is where most of the cost came from.
  11. Oh, I must have missed the poor kids living with grandma and I forgot him taking her on vacation to make up for not paying for the ring. Instead of, you know, paying for the ring with that trip money. And I have no idea if male engagement rings are a thing- but definitely not in his case since he'd already lost it and the payments lasted longer than the engagement! A true love story- makes one all misty eyed.
  12. These judges are going to have to go back through the Judge Judy training- Judges DiMaggio and Bakkman actually encouraged the plaintiff to drink the water! Granted "Mr Antics" was overly talkative and unbelievable, but the water is to be used as a test to keep the litigants on edge, certainly not to quench thirst or calm them down. And that first case with the two grumpy, old men aiming insults and cars at each other- the defendant kept denying things that were on the tape. He was too much.
  13. The repossessed car guy's story just slowly unspooled with every question JJ threw at him. She was in fine form indeed- got him and his witness to tell all sorts of things they had no intention of admitting when they walked in. Too bad she resorts to yelling and snarling so often, because this was a classic case of JJ at her best.
  14. Today was we had some of the most inappropriately dressed ladies in a while- particularly the first case with 20 something paying payments on her own engagement ring to the guy 20 years her senior. The disco ball dress (complete with hot pink bra under the sheer top) and intense, light pink lipstick were a remarkable look. Plus, the case itself was such a mess- how could the two of them think they were ready for marriage after 3 months, a 20 year age difference and the inability to even purchase rings (there are affordable alternatives if you can't get pricey diamonds)? Then the black lace and satin number in case number two. Maybe it was club night after taping!
  15. The Who's Who lady cannot be shocked that her product, that is designed to appeal to the self-important and pompous, attracted "The Baron". He's obviously living in his own dream world and once she couldn't please him with his multiple demands she should have given his money back just to get rid of him. But then again, she was probably thinking he was going to keep upgrading to feed his ego and thought she had a hot sale in the works. Have to feel bad for his daughter.
  16. It seems that Tim didn't like such a stark contrast between the before- regal ruler looks and the after- betrayed and bleeding orange looks. And though I don't think he said put fringe on everything, it was sort of implied that Sean should go more toward the fringe side. I am curious to see if he just tacked fringe on all the cream colored striped "before" clothes, changed them entirely and if he is going to start hacking fringe off now. That black jumpsuit could stand having no fringe and it looked like he could just remove it and re-hem where it is attached. Char is a nice person with pedestrian designs- yes, your 'girl' is fly but she's not fashion week ready. I'm not sure how Amanda got stuck in the 70s, but she is never going to leave that era. And the "Roman art deco in the 70s" is just too much. Having said that I didn't mind her collection, other than the heaviness of the print fabric. The jewelry is nice and adds the spark the clothes need. Kini- demin is an interesting fabric and having a few pieces in his "signature" fabric would be a great idea. But the unrelenting dark, heavy, overwrought look is certainly not bringing spring to mind. The white top was my favorite thing in his preview and it definitely needs a new skirt. As soon as he started announcing that he has decided he is a "fussy" designer I thought "That's not good". But his designs bore him out. Fussy and heavy. No one in Hawaii is going to be walking around in that! This whole series just struggles so much with the shorter time constraints. There is no way to produce quality fashion with 1 day challenges and a 5 week window to produce a Fashion Week worthy collection. When you count the Rome trip and the packing up everything and traveling to NY to return for Fashion Week- we are really looking at 4 weeks and that includes coming up with a concept, sketching, shopping and sourcing your materials, then finally sewing something. I really want Zac, Nina and Heidi to have to try this sometime. Even if they had a seamstress since I've pretty sure Nina and Heidi have never touched a machine and they had to sit next to the seamstress sewed their design I would love to see their results. Maybe that is what it would take to make them get it.
  17. I think Char's outfit is grown up, "rock and roll" version of Sandhya's ruffled onesie from the week before. Unfortunate for an adult or a 9 year old. I love the idea that someone here came up with for all the designers to get the 10 additional minutes- that would have been the only really acceptable solution. I also was irritated with Char's blaming of her client about the zipper incident- her assertion that "she just ripped the zipper out" was ridiculous and insulting. Guess she should have used Sandyha's snap strip instead.
  18. This show is going off the DVR just because it's a lot of talk to get to the point and I just can't handle this many court shows- after watching JJ and People's Court I have my fill of other people's (generally self-inflicted) problems. But I will catch it "live" if I am home. I think I spotted the long haired brunette with the dark framed glasses that is nearly always in the JJ audience. Has anyone else noticed? Is it the same girl?
  19. I hope that Sonia has a regular chiropractic visit lined up because maintaining those "model legs" poses as she is standing by the bench looks painful!
  20. Nina's comment was even worse than that- I just went back to listen to that particular part and she said "It looks like what the PR intern is wearing instead of the IMPORTANT PERSON". She actually said it just like that. I do understand the concept that she was saying it was too plain and not a stand out, but to categorize people between interns and important says a bit about Nina herself. Char seems to be a very nice person from what we've seen, but before Tim used his save on Char he really needed to take another look at that bright yellow monstrosity from last week- would have dried his tears right up! It truly was cruel to take the designers to the museum to see those beautiful creations that took weeks to make and expecting them to be able to use that inspiration in one day. The time constraint is taking this show down (not the only thing, but one of the most glaring and solvable problems).
