Victoria Justice has a great voice (assuming that was her) but was otherwise awful. The whole thing fell a little flat but wasn't horrible. Whoever did Riff-Raff was trying a bit too hard. Columbia was the best of the recasts.

Kacy is the only woman to complete a city finals course, not the only person to complete national finals. The appeal in watching any of the top guys is just to see skilled athletes perform well, regardless of the backstory.
