  1. Late to commenting on the Coachella performance, but all it did for me is remind me that Beyonce is great FOR HER TIME, but still hasn't done anything to earn her right to sit at the table with MJ. For a superstar, her choreography is basic at best and their were plenty of times she appeared out of breath. I would've loved to have seen just one routine that doesn't evolve shaking or showing her ass.The fact that a lot of the songs were just snippets kind of bugged too. Her strength is that she has excellent stage presence, I'll give her that. I do look forward to her seeing what direction her next album goes in, now that they marital drama is squashed and she's aging out of the sex kitten persona.
  2. I think Kanye West is a fantastic producer. I have yet to hear a song of his that doesn't have a catchy beat, even if I don't care about or even hate the lyrics. I just wish he would have stayed behind the soundboard at this point. Yes, early Kanye was fantastic but I'd give that up if I didn't have to deal with hearing about him now. All the songs I like by him could have easily been recorded by other artists and they still would have been hits, IMO.
  3. On one hand, I agree with her. The Voice sucks. I stopped watching it because I was tired of the sob stories and seeing fantastic vocalists sent home in favor prepubescent mumble singers. And if I were her, I would have quit the minute they signed me up for that Whitney Houston hologram fuckery. But yeah, she's not Cher or Cyndi Lauper. Her brand isn't about being authentic or outlandish. They hired her because she was a diva that they could afford. She had a sweet gig, all she had to do was sit in a chair and collect money. At this point, I either want Christina to bring back her Back to Basics or even her Stripped era sound or just give up the entertainment industry all together. She's not a great actress, she's not interested in hosting TV, she doesn't seem interesting enough for reality TV, and we aren't interested in her dance music. Get it together, Xtina.
  4. I thought of TLC when I saw the three of them in their silk pajamas when watching the episode, so that deleted clip is everything. I wish they would've cut some of Tracy's scenes out to include this.
  5. This is because sound mixing is shit nowadays. Or maybe its just because the old-fashioned shouty-style of acting is no longer en vogue. In either case, I (a person with no known hearing issues) have trouble capturing dialogue if I don't have my sound turned way louder than I'm comfortable with. I know I should probably just use closed-captioning but I'm too lazy. I can't stand how today's actors mumble half their lines under their breath, especially when a musical score is mixed in.
  6. I just posted it in the Music thread. Came here to see if anyone was talking about it LMAO. Kanye is such a MF'n troll. The beat is fantastic though. Kanye been hanging around them toddlers too long. Or maybe he was inspired by this?
  7. I'm so sorry. I know how frustrating it is.
  8. So Kanye West posted his new single on his website: http://www.kanyewest.com/ The nicest thing I can say is that he still has his producing talent. I think Chicago wrote the lyrics, though. He really should have just left it as an instrumental.
  9. I googled the Charlotte ordinances before responding because our local nuisance ordinance doesn't include excessive noise for whatever reason. It says : "An AC&C officer must see or hear the violation when they respond to take any kind of civil action." That's tricky because dogs will always bark when someone knocks on the door/if an uninvited guest enters the home. How would the ACO determine the noise is excessive? I would suggest making a recording//video of the noise if possible and ask the animal control officer to visit with you before visiting your neighbors again so that they can either hear the recording for themselves or actually hear the dogs barking in your unit. At the most, they will issue a citation, but you may have to be willing to testify in order for the citation to be found valid. I would say call code enforcement as well but they just may refer it back to animal control.
  10. I had that exact box for Diamond and Ella and I opened it so much that I end up breaking the side handles. Diamond loves to throw half the litter outside of the box and that model was easy for her to do so. I just got this model for them:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GIWVP3A/ref=twister_B001JAH3YQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 So far no litter had been thrown out of the box. I am sure she is trying to figure out away to kick the litter out as I type.
  11. Yes, but these are all in high end areas. The malls in the more lower-income areas of South FL haven't fared all that great. 163rd St Mall in North Miami Beach used to be the go-to teenage hangout due to its proximity to JFK Middle and NMB High. Now its a ghost town and Walmart pretty much has run of that lot. Hollywood Fashion Mall died a slow and embarrassing death before finally being demolished a couple years ago for a Walmart plus other retail shops and food chains.
  12. Roseanne can Uber her to and from work, I guess.
  13. @bigskygirl So sorry about your kitten, but thank you for giving her a home for 5 days. I used to foster kittens, nothing is more heartbreaking than to watch them fight so hard to live through an illness, but ultimately succumb to it. I've worked at an animal shelter for 7 years now so I've seen all kinds of rescue organizations first hand. Some are exactly like what was depicted in the episode (and those kind tend to be the ones that end up busted for hoarding or criminal activity somewhere along the way) and some are genuinely awesome. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to deal with the militant rescue organizations. Its sad that they put their personal beliefs or prejudices ahead of genuinely trying to find a forever home for an animal.
  14. Ella's feeling a bit upside-down today...
  15. @Sandman87 I am so sorry about the loss of your kitty.
  16. @BookWoman56 I am so sorry about the loss of your cat (and your sister). Even if he is euthanized at Animal Control, it is better than him dying by getting hit by car, being poisoned, etc. I'm so sorry that happened to you when you were just trying to do good.
  17. I can relate, @JTMacc99. Yesterday, while I was visiting a friend's house, I went from feeling a little under the weather to having a sore throat, fever, and chills within a span of a couple hours. I was out of it when I drove home and when I got in, I could not find my wallet anywhere. She confirmed that I did not leave it at her house, so I was tearing my car and apartment apart looking for it while in a semi-delirious state. It got to the point where I ordered replacement cards (listed under "damaged" so they don't send me new numbers) and finally, after 4 hours of searching and an hour after I ordered new cards, the wallet appeared randomly on the floor in a spot I paced by at least 100 times in my search. I cannot express in words how annoyed I am with myself.
  18. Yeah, I went to an inner city school in poor neighborhood and although we didn't have computers as far back as elementary school, we did start using the ancient Apple computers back middle school (95-97) in computer lab. My dad got his first personal computer in '95 (because my stepmom is a computer programmer). However, my mom was beyond poor and to this day has never owned a computer. Different strokes for different folks. I remember Kirk Cameron being a heartthrob for the older generation....I remember teenage children of my mom's friends being crazy about him.
  19. @Chicken Wing Thank you for your post. I'm almost as sick of hearing about Roseanne Barr as I am with the media trying to politicize this show. I don't care about her Tweets or interviews and the offensive crap she says because she's nuts. I wouldn't watch this show if it was about Roseanne Barr. This show is about the Conners and I love them all as my favorite TV family. Nothing Roseanne Barr ever did or will do could diminish my love for Roseanne Conner.
  20. I was born in '83 and my 5 year old self had a massive crush on Jordan Knight from NKOTB and I thought Marky Mark was so cool. Plus, my grandmother had a rotary phone when I was little and my dad still owned a typewriter. All she has to do is say she was little when she was exposed to all these things (rather than actually growing up with them) and she'll be fine. :)
  21. This bugs me beyond belief.
  22. Roseanne has been like this since season 1. Roseanne Barr has always been somewhat BSC and spoke exactly what was on her mind, consequences be damned. When she was younger and actually cared about her career, she would sometimes backtrack. The difference now is, Roseanne's older and she's done what she set out to do. This is a fun little project for her, but she doesn't NEED it per se. So she is going to continue to be who she is, and if ratings drop because of it/the show gets cancelled because of it, she will happily return back to her Hawaiian macadamia nut farm and tweet in peace. She has no reason to give a crap anymore. She did this more because of her love of her co-stars with the added bonus of making some extra cash. I don't follow Roseanne Barr, because I think her Tweets are BSC and ridiculous. But I love and will always love Roseanne Conner, and I've long ago been able to separate the two. I'm not going to let Roseanne Barr's politics or that darn 45 poison my love for my show. If I have to be perfectly honest, I'm peeved to the extreme that the media's focus has been on Roseanne Conner's Election Day choice. I just want to enjoy seeing the cast together again. None of the leads are getting any younger and I want to cherish them while we still have them.
  23. Not to be outdone by Ella's hissyface from her outing on Sunday, Diamond is here to serve you all a fresh helping of catittude. She has RBF for days on end:
  24. I can't believe how popular this reboot turned out to be (saying it in a thrilled way)! I didn't think the forums would light up the way they have. I had friends I would have never guessed watched the show posting all about it on FB yesterday. Hopefully the show can keep up the momentum.
  25. I guess its because I haven't watched the reruns in awhile, and I don't watch sitcoms anymore, that it just seemed jarring to me. I totally forgot that the original was filmed in front of a live audience. It just seems outdated in this day and age. The recession probably did them in, if a change in dieting trends/demographics didn't do them in first. I'm more curious to know if the Lobo still exists.....
