  1. I disagree. This is most likely Jill's influence because she's been indoctrinated her whole life and on the show with this "taking" mentality and now she's taking it into her marriage. People like this turn me off. I find it tacky, gauche, and self-indulgent.
  2. Good answer, GEML!! JB and Michelle will be drilling that message into Dill's heads so they can keep them on a leash. They don't want them to truly be autonomous. The Duggar's m/o is CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL. And what's so annoying is that it's not at all what the bible teaches. Leave and cleave means you keep your damn nose outta your married/engaged kids bidness, SELF RIGHTEOUS MORONS. Derrick, you better learn to put JB in his place and get outta that house and find your own digs. Until you do, you'll never be your own man.
  3. Haha, not on Joe's dime. I imagine family members would pitch in and take turns driving.
  4. If Tre's sent to Camp Cupcake in WV, that's an 8 hr drive one way if traffic isn't an issue. The prison in Danbury, CT is less than 2 hours each way. The farther away she is the less likely Juicy'll be to visit regularly. And after a few months, I think he'll lessen the frequency regardless of where she's placed. ETA: Thanks, JerseyGirl and HumblePi, I read your posts about the likelihood of Tre being placed in WV due to the female inmate population transitions taking place in Danbury, CT. However, the CT facility for women is being re-organized and it's not 100% cut and dried certain at this point that she's headed for WV. But chances are, based on the the current upheaval in Danbury, she's not likely to end up close to home.
  5. I agree that the confessionals use cue cards in many cases. And yes, I saw that TH with Teresa misreading "afloat" -- she probably has no idea what that means and has never used that term up until now. Yeah, AC is full of shiz. Andy, we know there's a certain amount of improvisation going on, ie; Tre's table flip. Moron.
  6. Is it certain that Tre is being sent to WV? She could also be sent to CT -- which would be much closer and easier for her family to visit weekly. http://www.bop.gov/locations/institutions/dan/
  7. I get what you're saying. ;-) All joking aside, I've heard people on reality shows like Big Brother, Real World, Super Nanny, etc., say that they've got producers on the side of the "set" "blocking out scenes" -- or in other words, talking to them on the side coaching them in how they want the scene to go down. The only thing that isn't scripted is that the producers aren't telling them verbatim what to say, which is how they get around calling it unscripted. More or less the housewives's dialogue is organic with a producer directing them on the sidelines.
  8. floridamom, Don't you think Anna has evolved from some of her old thinking since moving to DC and establishing her own life and thoughts away from the Duggars? It's my belief that a person changes and establishes their core values and identity more in their 20's and early 30's than at any other time of life. I don't have a close pulse on what this family is like off-camera, but I doubt this significant change in Anna is a reaction to public opinion, at least that's my thought. Time will tell.
  9. Ew, you're right, I hadn't thought about that! I never thought it was a good idea, but just picturing it grosses me out. The only thing that might make it less messy is if they had someone making the sundaes -- just a bad idea all the way around. And can you imagine how long the lines will be for the sundae stations? Maybe they'll have a variety of toppings at each table? Still trying to find the upside to this and there isn't one!! ETA: Maybe they'll have one of those big 'ol feeding troughs like you use to feed pigs and just give everyone a spoon.
  10. This is one thing I absolutely have no issue with. As much as I like to throw in my 2 cents about this family, I actually think it's cool that they posted that on IG. I don't think they're self-righteous by doing this, imo, just encouraging themselves with God's Word. I do this as well -- I call them truth cards.
  11. Joe is dumb, but a person knows if they're a US citizen or not. Just more bs by all involved, including his lawyers, to get mercy from the court.
  12. NO to bringing back Jackie and Caroline. They have zero relevance unless they interact with Dina (and even then only in small doses). But that'll never happen -- Dina wants nothing to do with them. If they started filming again for next season in a couple weeks they could bring back everyone from this season -- even Jim, bc even without breaking any laws or overspending, he makes Juicy look good. We can all watch Tre go off to prison and then they can film Joe making arrangements for he and the kids to move in with one of his brothers. All Joe needs to do is come across humbled, show him lovingly interact with his daughters, smoke a couple cigars with Rosie, and cook a couple family dinners. And voilà -- there's a season!! Then Joe and Melissa can be shown interacting with Juicy and taking a bigger role in their niece's lives. Dina has a responsibility to be a very present role in Audriana's life and this can be filmed while she also navigates her life in NYC (no one gives a rip if she's there or living in Franklin Lakes). If Bravo puts this franchise on hiatus for a couple years then adiós and good luck bringing it back. They need to keep filming while it's still interesting and fresh instead of the phony garbage they usually push.
  13. So now that Joe and Tre are each set to do prison terms, does anyone think Bravo will try to start filming another season to catch the next couple months before Tre does her time? Aaaaand will Bravo keep filming the whole family while Tre's gone to capture how they're all doing without her? I'll bet Andy is pitching this.
  14. Oh boy, what an unfortunate name. Nothing in the article surprises me; that's just how the Jee-oo-dee-chays roll. I wouldn't be surprised if later they uncover more assets and shenanigans. And regarding Joe's drinking and plea for rehab; waaaah, cry me a river. More BS; not that Joe doesn't have a problem with alcohol -- we all know he does, but he wouldn't be seeking help if he wasn't looking to shorten his prison time or look for some kind of bs leniency. The guy has a wine cellar full of booze, he makes and bottles his own wine and schleps it with him to parties, and his wife has her own fabu-effing-stoopid brand o'booze. I don't doubt that Juicy wouldn't attempt it if it guaranteed him leniency, but now that it wasn't granted, I'll be surprised if he'll maintain a sober life when he's out of the clink. Just glad the judge didn't fall for it.
  15. I would not be surprised if JB at some point attempts to "create" a job for Derick, employing him with his accounting skills. JB could easily use someone like Derick to manage the financial aspects of his many businesses. If JB is smart, he'll hold off on offering Derick a position right away because that would look fairly obvious that he's trying to reel him in and he knows Derick to be his own man -- at the moment. If JB waits and slowly introduces the idea sometime after the first grandchild or two comes around then he can appeal to Derick or somehow create the perfect storm in his own business to show Derick how his skill set is necessary to take the Duggar business to the next level. Not sure if JB is patient or smart enough to pull it off, but if he does then he'll be in an even greater position of controlling their lives.
  16. Who is "he who must not be named"? This season (aside from Aviva) and even last season were far better seasons than season 4. Edited: dbl. post
  17. Yeah, I don't know if bringing Bethenny back will bring the viewership up; either way the show lost its mojo and I doubt they will get it back. The appeal of the HW's franchise is waning.
  18. Nah. They prob left those pickles in a jar 'cuz that's more hipster. Jill's "vintage" like that.
  19. I agree with all this. I consider myself a conservative evangelical Christian and this is how we celebrate HALLOWEEN, not HARVEST DAY <eye roll>. But then we are also cool with Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc. A funny story, when my husband and I were doing pre-marriage counseling at our church with our pastor, the subject of children and holidays came up and my husband mentioned that he didn't want to raise our kids with the idea of Santa, he thought it was too commercial, took away from the real meaning of Christmas and thought it was like lying to kids (he knows all about it being based on the real Saint Nick). Well, I was really annoyed about his attitude and told him I didn't want to raise little freaks who thought it was sinful to believe in Santa or go Trick or Treating. Our pastor backed me up and my husband came back to earth -- thank God! We are able to include these things and still keep Christ the center of our lives.
  20. Good work, Ncceagle84!! There's been so much discussion about the bridesmaid dresses -- it has been quite entertaining. But this tidbit takes the cake. Awesome post -- 10 likes!!
  21. Dayum. They look like they're the size of silver dollar flapjacks, ew.
  22. I don't have an issue with Kim Richards on the show. I have always said I liked her quirkiness, and her TH's, for me, are hysterical. I don't think she adds enough to the show to be a full-time HW. She doesn't share enough of her real life to warrant more than Friend status, imo. I have to laugh because when I first read your comment, quinn, I thought you were saying Kim and Jon Voigt were dating and I thought that was an unlikely paring as I've ever heard. Eileen and Jon Voigt make more sense.
