  1. If the wedding + marriage is between Oliver and Felicity then I see it eventually ending in a divorce. There's no way that they would marry off their main character at the end of season 3 and have it last until the end of the show, which is still at least 2 years away (and with how good the ratings have been, make it 3 or 4 more years).
  2. Latino Review gets things right sometimes, but they have posted lots of faulty info (especially in terms of casting news) over the years.
  3. I sort of like the idea that it's an AU Sara who became evil in the other universe. That would be a good way to explain the White Canary persona, but most likely, Sara will be LP'ed and theapplefour will suffer a heart attack (LOL).
  4. You can see the design of Laurel's canary cry device in one of the promo pics for 1x19 of The Flash. It's indeed a choker. Well, I guess that fits with the rest of her outfit.
  5. I am aware that what I am about to say isn't going to be welcomed here, but many Olicity shippers did throw mud at Sara while she was with Oliver. The Sara Lance tag at tumblr was full of hate and so were facebook and twitter. Same goes for various Arrow forums, comment sections and blogs. TWOP, GATV forums and Reddit were still some of the more Sara-friendly places to be at while the Sara/Oliver storyline was going on and maybe people who didn't frequent outside of those places aren't all that aware of the Sara (and CL) hate that was going on at the time. As for Barry, I think he didn't catch much flag because he was a very likable presence on the show and only appeared for 2 episodes, so he didn't pose any long-term threat to the Olicity ship.
  6. Yeah, sounds to me like they are going to give Laurel a device that is going to morph and amplify her natural scream to make her more like the BC in the comics. This is probably the closest we are ever going to get to an actual Canary cry on the show. I just hope they find a way to not make it look too silly.
  7. In parts. Bring Laurel in as a fully formed BC like Sara, but don't immediately feature her in every episode. Give her a short guest-arc first and then increase the number of episodes from season to season to avoid viewer fatigue. And show us how Laurel became the costumed superhero she is now in specific flashback episodes (Sara's flashbacks weren't really about her. They were in service of Oliver's story).
  8. Does it have to be a code name that already exists in the comics? Maybe they are going to make up an entirely new code name just for Sara. I don't think she would have needed to run around in full BC gear, but she definitely should have had a real martial arts background from the beginning. Maybe she could have taken up martial arts as a stress reliever after the gambit sank and proven to be a real natural at it - so good that she has won several martial arts tournaments and works as a martial arts instructor in her free time. And if not that, then I think it would have been better if the show had followed the Smallville formula and introduced Laurel as a fully formed BC in one of the later seasons and told her backstory in a couple of flashback episodes.
  9. According to a poster on IMDB, there were problems with the CW signal in the Seattle market last night. DirectTV and Comcast lost the CW signal during the hour Arrow was on. Seattle is the 14th biggest TV market in the US. That might have impacted the ratings a bit.
  10. Does anyone know why the CW moved Supernatural to Wednesday? If I remember correctly, it had better ratings on Tuesday. As for Arrow, I would like to think that the poor run of episodes is finally starting to catch up with them, but it could be just the CW's annual ratings slump in spring.
  11. Huh, why would anyone believe that Roy is the Arrow? Lance has already identified him as Arsenal months ago and anyone who has seen the Arrow and his team in action (which would be lots of police men and media people) should easily notice that Roy's physique doesn't match. He is much smaller and thinner than the Arrow (ergo, a much better match for Arsenal). If the Arrow writers really use Roy as their get out of jail card, they are once again treating their viewers as idiots. On the upside, it was nice to see Celina Jade again and Nyssa/Katrina Law, who's already a striking beauty in LOA clothes, looks even better in regular outfits.
  12. Me too. Smallville's Oliver could be dark and do dark things, but he was more in tune with his emotions, more charming/fun and generally more like the Oliver Queen in the comics.
  13. His character is going to be a love interest for Megan Fox's role, so he will probably have to make out with her.
  14. Not that I think it (Ray proposing to Felicity) will happen, but they could easily fly in Brandon Routh for a couple of days while they are filming the season finale.
  15. Again, that's where the detailed continuity comes into play. By the end of it's run, Arrow should reflect the central themes, characterizations, and ideas present throughout the 74 years of Green Arrow continuity. For Oliver Queen in particular, it means that he should be fighting for justice, have some charm and wit, become a crusader for the poor and disadvantaged and have a star-crossed love life.
  16. Lol, sounds like the cliffhanger ending of a Desperate Housewives finale. Which season was that again? 5? 6?
  17. While Oliver has made strides in his crusade as the Arrow, I think he already has regressed in his personal life. Season 1 Oliver wasn't perfect, but at least he was trying to have a life back then. He had the club, he spend time with his friends, he went to functions and parties with his family and he went out on dates. Now he's just a self-pitying picture of misery with no real life of his own. Considering that we're already 17 episodes into the season and there has been no progress concerning Oliver's identity crisis, I think it's likely that there may be a lightswitch of some sorts in the final episode of the season followed by a quick Oliver/Felicity hookup. While that may satisfy some fans, I do not think that it would lead to a healthy and stable relationship between them. I think it would probably lead to a messy relationship with several break-ups and make-ups in future season. IMO, Oliver first needs to carve out a casual life for himself that isn't dependent on being with any one person before he has any chance of making a relationship work long term.
  18. Yes, Oliver is a bit of a playboy but even when he wants and tries to settle down, it still doesn't work out for him for one reason or another. When I compared Oliver to Bruce Wayne, I meant it in the sense that they are able to hold a group of heroes together (a quasi family of sorts), but can't settle down in their personal lives. They end up alone more often than not.
  19. Here is how I see it: Retellings like Arrow usually start off very differently from the mythology they are based on, but as time goes on, they start to allign themselves more and more with the source material. So, it's the middle part (aka the journey) that has the most flexibility in terms of twists and changes, but the conclusion generally remains similar. Now, you are absolutely right that comic canon is more or less a mess because of the frequent rewrites and reboots, but there is a thing called detailed continuity, which encompasses the core elements of the hero's mythology that have stood the test of time. Those elements can be specific plot points or thematic ideas. In the case of Oliver Queen, some of those core elements would probably be his charm and wit, his fight for justice, his support of the working class and disadvantaged, and his unstable romantic life. He's a guy that doesn't settle down. Black Canary has been portrayed as the love of his life in various comic book incarnations, but even with her, he can't make it work long-term. He's a lot like Bruce Wayne in that regard. I always see fans wondering whether Oliver will end up with Felicity or Laurel, but IMO, they should at least consider the possibility that Oliver may not end up with either woman. Maybe he will end up alone and his son will turn out to be his number 1 priority.
  20. I could see her doing it because Ray's her boss, but I don't think it's about Ray anyway.
  21. He has? Well, if I were an Olicity shipper I would be crossing my fingers and toes right now that the season doesn't end with a Felicity/Oliver hookup. Otherwise, the writers are going to put the first 4-5 months of their coupledom in the Arrow 3.5 comics and have them break up on the show in early season 4 to give viewers more Oliver/Felicity angst.
  22. Yeah, that's true but even when endgame status is in question, most will-they-won't-they couples will eventually become tiresome to viewers unless they are in the hands of really skilled, competent romance writers. I mean no offense to the Arrow writing staff, but I don't think they belong in that category. Anyways, what I was trying to say was that due to Oliver/Felicity being executed so early in the game, they are destined to become Arrow's main will-they-won't-they arc (like Clana in Smallville). The destination could end up being different, but that's really anybody's guess at this point.
  23. When I compare Oliver/Felicity to Clark/Lana, I am not so much thinking of it in terms of details but in terms of function within the story. It is through Oliver's struggle to initiate and maintain a relationship with Felicity that we see his struggle for identity play out and Felicity - just like Lana on Smallville - represents a chance at a normal life for Oliver. And considering that we are only in season 3 of Arrow, it's very unlikely that Oliver and Felicity will live happily ever after in a committed relationship anytime soon. Maybe they will get together and stay together for half a season or so, but then they are going to break up and the will-they-won't-they dance will start all over again (Clana had a similar will-they-won't-they dynamic and it was one of the reasons why they were so unwatchable).
  24. I take it someone isn't all that satisfied with the sales figures for the Arrow 2.5 comics considering that MG is now begging Olicity shippers on Twitter to buy them:
  25. If I had to compare Oliver/Felicity in terms of writing and function to any couple right now, it would probably be the Clana relationship on Smallville, which I admit isn't a very flattering comparison.
