  1. I understand why they went with the lower bid for budget reasons, but I also wonder if that was the right choice. Keeping the floors was a big deal to the homeowner, but I hope everything was mitigated properly. What did they say about additional foundation work in the future? I missed it.
  2. @galaxygirl76 : I have nothing but admiration for people working in grocery. All of you are doing an awesome job so that people can have food and other necessities. It is greatly appreciated. Jill is a horrible excuse for a human being, yet despite her risky behaviour, I have little doubt she will emerge from this crisis unscathed. That always seems to happen to terrible people. But there is no telling how many of the people she put at risk will be affected.
  3. That was painful to watch. The victory dance was over the top, but after such a weird game it almost seemed fitting.
  4. When the show started, Kevin was shown to be the "stereotypical" celebrity, waking up hungover with some fan girl in his bed, plenty of money, yet not happy. Randall was shown to be the successful businessman with a beautiful wife and daughters, living in an upscale neighborhood. As the series progressed, Kevin was shown to have more redeeming qualities, and Randall was shown to have cracks in his perfect facade. We have slowly been shown how their upbringing and the untimely death of their father has shaped them. I do recall a lot of negativity about Kevin in the early days, and a lot of Randall love. Now the tables are turned. At the end of the day they are both flawed characters, and I do believe this was the intent of the writers all along. There are only 36 episodes left. I trust there will be a satisfying resolution, and that we will finally get the Rebecca/Miguel story.
  5. Totally agree that Miguel was not on board about the trial. Both Randall and Kevin said some horrible, unforgivable things to each other. It did seem in the future that they made up at some point. I did get the impression that Kevin seemed to regret what he said immediately after he spoke. Randall conveniently forgot that Kevin had his back many times when his anxiety attacks got out of control. But really, they were both at fault. There is certainly a lot to think about, and who knows when the new season will start. I am grateful that we got to see the whole season- this will not be the case with a lot of other shows.
  6. Evidently there is a new episode tonight at 9. Originally TV Guide had other shows in the slot but I guess with people being home HGTV decided to air Home Town.
  7. Thanks, @Trey and @saber 5055 🙂 I had an audition 4 years ago and never got a call, so I am not getting my hopes up too much. Maybe my luck will be better this time.
  8. I took the test, and got an email on March 5 inviting me to an audition in Las Vegas on April 3. Yesterday I got an email telling me the audition was still on, but as our Governor closed all non-essential businesses for one month I knew that would change. A couple hours later I got another email saying the audition would be rescheduled at a later date.
  9. I saw the story with sound yesterday. Felicity was dancing to “Baby Shark”, and it certainly did not look like Jinger was trying to stop her. I can’t fault her for that. My 18 month old granddaughter loves that stupid song. It’s annoying as hell, but she is so cute dancing and doing the hand gestures and squealing when they say “run away” that I can live with it. It will pass like every other fad before it.
  10. We redid our kitchen a few years ago and we picked stained cabinets with raised panel doors, and granite with a lot of colour and movement in it. No white or grey or marble to be seen. But the homeowner did indicate that he was looking at the house as an investment, and would more likely sell in a few years. In that case something more timeless might make more sense. Then again, being able to say the house had been featured on Home Town would probably be a big incentive to buyers.
  11. Pretty sure someone at the TTH reads all of the snark sites. I have no doubt they want to know what is being said about them. So the happy birthday post to Derick may just be an attempt to diffuse rumours of a rift between Jill, Derick, and Jim Bob and Michelle.
  12. Not a fan of artificial flowers/plants indoors, but outdoors you don't have to worry about dust. The rain would wash them off, and with all the humidity in Mississippi you probably would not have to be concerned about them drying out and falling apart. I think it was a great solution for someone who has no interest in maintaining window boxes.
  13. Another great job last night. I loved the live edge table, but I do not understand why the wood was being stored in that old building. Ben has a woodshop- surely he has room there? I think I prefer the smaller houses where they do the kitchen and living room and master suite. I think they sacrificed a bedroom for the master bath. I don't remember how many bedrooms were in the original floor plan. The kitchen was great. Funny how the patterned tile is making a comeback- it was big in the late 70's-early 80's. I do like the look but wonder how quickly it will become dated.
  14. I have noticed the mentions of "Angel Baby Asa" have dwindled to almost nothing. Maybe having a healthy, happy baby has helped Lauren to put her loss into perspective. They do appear to be smitten with Bella, and she definitely does not appear to be treated as a consolation prize.
  15. That group photo has to be around 11 years old. Random observations: Jennifer looked miserable even as a 2-year old. All of the boys had really high foreheads, even as kids. The shorter haircuts really accentuated that fact. Maybe they aren't receding these days as much as we assume, because it sure looks like they didn't have much to begin with. They sure lost the genetic lottery as far as their hair goes.
  16. Actually, you can get the exact same stuff for much less at Lowe’s. We redid our powder room last year, and we saw a Kohler vanity and sink that I really liked at Ferguson’s. I was able to order it from Lowe’s for considerably less money.
  17. I honestly think it would be a lot more difficult to pull a Medic Corps stunt in the US. Hopefully they just wanted to help. Neighboring state and all... It's not like they have real jobs or classes to attend after all.
  18. I went to Catholic school for both elementary and high school from the mid 60's to the mid 70's in Quebec, where Catholic schools were also public schools, and we never were told that other denominations were demonic. We even had a field trip to a synagogue one year. I think the "one true church" thing stems from the fact that it was the original Christian Church, but, at least in my experience, I never heard any criticism of other religions. Of course, this was not always the case, (Spanish Inquisition, Crusades), but at least in modern times they seem to have abandoned that particular nonsense.
  19. In Joy's defense, after what she went through last year if she gets pregnant again I would not blame her for holding off on making any public announcements until she is comfortable doing so.
  20. "The pagan religion of Catholicism?" Fuck you, Jeremy. Somewhere in Italy your ancestors are spinning in their graves. My simple take is that if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Messiah, then you are a Christian. Period. The differences between various denominations of Christianity (or Judaism, or Islam) are all man-made. Fighting and insulting people over differences in doctrine is stupid and useless. This is just one of the reasons I am disillusioned by organized religion.
  21. I believe one of the guys has family in Laurel, and they visit a few times a year.
  22. Last year they did an episode featuring an engaged (now married) couple who happened to be 2 young women. Erin promptly received a ton of outraged comments from "fans" on her Instagram account who "thought they were a Godly, Christian couple, and were disappointed that they would encourage this deviant lifestyle". A lot of them said they were unfollowing her and not watching the show any more. She promptly shut down the comments, and the next day she put up a post saying she was just trying to navigate life the best way she knew how and she was not interested in any debates or politics or having people tear her down. The comments were off for quite a while. It was really sad.
  23. And once again, sending "missionaries" and materials to predominantly Catholic countries. WHY?
  24. No comments about last night's episode? I loved the kitchen. I am a fan of green so I really liked the cabinet colour . Shows that not everything has to be white/grey. Not a huge fan of the dog painting. I can see where the owners might love it but it was too over-the-top for me. And probably pretty pricey too. The artist was a very unique character. No apparent backlash over the homeowners this time, thank goodness.
  25. All of the nursing babies came along with their mothers, along with Mackenzie, Israel , Sam, and Felicity. Mackenzie always seems to get lumped in with her youngest aunts, plus I'm sure this was a prime opportunity for sister mom training. Jinger probably brought Felicity along because she didn't want to leave her at the TTH- that place is a zoo at the best of times and Felicity really doesn't know her Duggar relatives very well. I assume Johannah had her hands full with the M kids and possibly Gideon, Spurgeon, and Henry, although Ben and Austin seem capable of watching their boys for a few hours. I sincerely doubt Smuggar would be up for watching his own kids though. Which leaves Israel and Sam. I assume Jill brought them along so they could see their Aunt Jinger and cousin Felicity, maybe because a trip to the TTH would not be allowed?
