We get a confirmation that the angel and demon are Genesis parents, I wonder if that will factor into things?

Poor Jesus, he took those break dancing lessons and got Hitler that boombox for nothing! Wow the sentences this show allows me to type.

The first sign of the apocalypse? Mimes.

The fight at Holy Bar and Grail was still going on! It's been months!

In this show God acts more like traditional representations of the Devil. Offering Faustian "deals" and so on.

Interesting that God told a story about Cain and Abel, considering that he played favorites with them just like he's doing with Jesus and Humperdoo. Some folks never learn.

Well, Pestilence is supposed to be one of the four horsemen...

Yeah, but God offered "deals", too.  And pretty awe-ful ones.  He bet the Devil he could get Job to sin.  (Job 2)  (And the "pull the rug out" trick with Abraham and Isaac was pretty stunningly ghastly).

Good work there. This is clearly the old testament version.

Brick wall, fast approaching. Current speed? Well, the speedometer only measures so much bugfuck.

It's probably for the best Preacher is ending. I don't think it's a matter that it's not 100 percent faithful to the source material, but that it just comes off as "fucked up for the sake of being fucked up." (Does anyone feel that way about The Boys? I don't have subscription TV.) Maybe it doesn't translate well on screen. Or maybe I'm just that used to the plot going off at a 90-degree angle. "Look, that's Jesus performing old-school breakdancing to get his father's attention, while Hitler rocks out a little to 'Tricky.' That's funny."

Of course Starr and Featherstone get it on before the final number. Of course Featherstone would be wearing a STRAP-ON FIST. Anyone else here watch It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia? I immediately thought of Mac's exercise bike with the "motivation" built into it.

Next Time: The End! You think we'll stray from the canon ending?

I don't want to stray too far off topic, but I like The Boys show more than the comic, whereas I liked the Preacher book more than the show.

The problems with books/graphic novels converted to TV is that it can be very expensive to try recreating something that is easy to draw or even worse describe.

I don't read comics so I don't have anything to compare the show to what it was based off of, but it is amusing enough to see it to the end. You can tell they do things that are supposed to be cool just to be cool even if it doesn't help the plot (what little there is of it) along.
