I also liked the inside jokes about Bill Irwin being a clown/mime.

I didn't, but my friend immediately leaned over and pointed it out (quietly), which made me laugh.  I loved the Bill Irwin mime jokes!!

I was just looking up the play and see that it premiered in 2018 and continued in 2019.  That means

Well now after having enjoyed the play so much I’m very disturbed to read about the allegations against Tomas Middleditch. Damn you, show. 

I had seen it referenced months ago in the celebrity predator thread.

I saw Wicked last night for the first time on Broadway (saw it previously in London) with the whole family. Everyone loved it.

I saw both Broadway and London too.  Enjoyed both.

I'd read about him before going in.  Sometimes I can separate the person from the art.  In this case, I could do that since other than than what I'd read in the same thread, I didn't know anything about him.  And the play is so good! 

I was happy when it extended on Broadway, because if it hadn't, I would have had to haul my ass to the Kennedy Center in March to see it.  And any time I can avoid hauling my ass to the KC is good.

Saw the touring production of MJ. Whatever I think of Michael Jackson, I don’t hate the music. The numbers were incredibly choreographed and Jordan Markus and Deandre Hamilton both captured Michael brilliantly. They both practically glided on the stage.

Also, I saw the proshot of Waitress the Musical on Max. Never thought that movie could make a good musical, but they managed to pull it off. My only gripe is I found Dr. Pometer even more repulsive than he was in the movie; the actor playing him reminded me strongly of Xander Harris. You can make a guy as dorky as you want, but that doesn’t make his cheating on his wife—with his pregnant patient—any less despicable.

I too was glad to be able to catch the Waitress musical. I had missed the Broadway production. I too had been wary of it, and by the time I became interested it had closed. I really liked the songs. The story does have that problematic aspect, but what doesn’t?

I wouldn’t call it “problematic” per se, just shoddy writing. You want me to like Dr. Pometer, don’t just write him as goofy and awkward to gloss over the fact that his messing around with a patient behind his wife’s back for no apparent reason. At least have us learn more about him and his marriage, or at least have him ACT a little more conflicted about what he’s doing.

No disrespect to the late Adrienne Shelley.

I saw the OG cast of Waitress. I very rarely see a production twice, but while planning a trip to NYC in early 2019 I saw on Sara's social media that she would be doing a listening party for her album Amidst the Chaos, after a Waitress showing while I was in town.   I thought "I'll buy the cheapest ticket to the show, just to attend the listening party". 

It was hosted by Gavin Creel.  I'm so glad I didn't pass up that opportunity.

I saw Waitress 6 times on Broadway and just watched the pro-shot. LOVE that musical. Sara Bareilles is amazing, and I wish she'd write another musical.

A couple of years ago some of us had commented on The Bedwetter.  I really liked it.  Anyway, I saw it had opened in Wash DC and recommended it to a friend there, and she loved it.  Anyone in Washington should try to see it.

Has anyone ever seen Kimberly Akimbo? Is it any good? Asking because it’s going to be in Detroit next month, which means it might be in my next season, and I'm wondering if this is going to be the "I only saw this because I'm a season holder" show. But then again, I liked Jagged Little Pill more than I anticipated, so I am keeping an open mind.

I saw it on Broadway, it was fabulous, but I question whether a touring cast could match the performance of Victoria Clark as the lead.
