Well it's interesting that Viv is still around but I can't for the life of me remember who fathered her child or what the story was there. Also, when Taylor was trying to get Oliver to help her with the dog I was expecting her to bring up the fact that she tried to cover for him just last week when he wrecked the car and he owed her one. Continuity not a strong suit for this show.

Speaking of which . . . what happened to Katie's mom? Last I remember she was still living there with them. Did she end up getting back together with Katie's dad?

Anna Kat was really annoying with the constant "mama." I guess that was intentional considering the ending.

The face of the actress playing Katie looks really thin. Now that she's had her baby in real life, I'm thinking they're putting her in baggy clothes to give the illusion that she's still bigger.

Well, she was pregnant in season one and season 2. This is the first season we’re seeing her “real” face!

This episode felt like it was intentionally set in a vacuum, like maybe it was an extra script ordered, or they were expecting the network to potentially air some out of order and this could slot in?

...except for the no more "mama" thing which I guess will have ripple effects in the dialogue later...but other than that single detail this was an "anytime after Viv had the baby" episode.

Even when Greg said: "So do you want kid #4." I wanted to go: "Who the hell wrote this episode? They don't know the characters at all." If not only felt filler, but came out of no where.

Yeah, I agree that this episode was kind of out of the blue in some ways and it felt off somehow.  I also didn't like the either/or logic about Viv not needing a man so therefore she shouldn't get back with her ex.  How about not getting back with him because he's a jerk who's not right for her?  I have never loved the Viv character and think she's best only in small doses.

I liked the show better last season.  It seemed to be finding its stride but now I agree it's all over the map.  It's like they start to go in one direction only to stop mid-step and pursue another less enjoyable one.  Not that I thought Katie's mom living there was a good idea either.  I'm glad that one was resolved.

But didn't they have him wanting another baby in the prior seasons?  So, that part didn't seem out of the blue to me.  But you guys are right in that this episode felt out of the blue.  I think that, a lot of times, sitcoms are written/directed/whatever in every-other-week blocks.  So this week's people probably don't know exactly what was supposed to have happened last week.  I also think you're all right though, that this seemed like an episode that could be aired any time after Viv had the baby.

Speaking of Viv, it's really annoying that, now, she's stealing from the Ottos.  If this were real life, I would think she were mentally ill, not just sleep deprived and broke. And, why is she showering over there after they all leave?  It was probably just for the sake of insterting a joke, but that's disturbing.  Doesn't she have money to pay her water bill?  You can't tell me her mansion doesn't have bathrooms.  Maybe she couldn't afford shampoo, since she stole Katie's concealer too.  Ugh.  I loved this actress when she was the lead in the show GCB, but I hate her character on this one.

I had to think pretty hard to remember.  If I recall correctly, Viv fell for the guy the Ottos hired to train their pig.  I didn't think they really covered what happened to him earlier this season though.  He just seemed not to be around. I could be remembering that wrong.  At least in this episode, Viv said that he went back to the pig farm and never came back.  Well Viv, he owes you child support.  Get a lawyer or go through your state's child support enforcement unit.  Then you won't have to steal from the Ottos.

Basic law practice on a sitcom? Perish the thought! It's suppose to be funny, when it's not.

My biggest question: Is Katie still working? They mentioned her bonus in the previous ep, so she presumably is...but in my experience, working people generally don't have time for leisurely breakfasts with their friends after dropping the kids off at school...
