JPPT1974 January 25 Share January 25 Most Wanted is my favorite of the three FBI shows. You get to know the characters well and most are very well liked. Plus they are not one-dimensional characters. They also for the most part, work well with other law enforcement agencies. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8563693

MW is my favorite FBI show as well, has the best cases with the best twists and I like the dark psychological nature of the show. I like all of the characters as well and they work well together. I will be royally pissed if MW gets canceled to make room for this new fucking spinoff they’ve proposed which doesn’t sound any different from original FBI. If an FBI show gets canceled I wish it would be International and not MW, although I would prefer if all 3 shows stayed. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8563697
threebluestars January 25 Share January 25 Most Wanted is my favourite and it's because of the cases - I don't really care about any of the characters that much. Maybe because we've had so much turnover. But the cases are always interesting and I like the twists and turns. I get super burned out on all the SPIES! and TERRORISM! of the other FBIs. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8564098

Yeah the cases are the best on MW, a wide variety of stuff with some good twists and memorable villains. International feels like a spy show at times, and while I like original FBI’s cases pretty good they do go to the terrorism stuff a lot. Which is another reason why it would be epically stupid to cancel MW, the show with the most unique cases, in favor of a CIA spinoff that would be entirely about spies and terrorism. I will be livid if that’s what happens. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8564115

Xeliou66 March 4 Share March 4 Horrible mistake to cancel MW and International, I have no idea what CBS/Dick Wolf/whoever’s behind this decision is thinking. MW has the best cases of the 3 shows and International has been strong this season. I’m very disappointed by this, and if it’s to make room for that stupid goddamn proposed CIA spinoff that’s even more dumb, that show sounds no different from original FBI while these shows were unique. I’m fucking pissed about this. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8597901
UnknownK March 4 Share March 4 Well, it was financial issue since the actors were missing in episodes this year to save money. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8597923

My guess is financial issues as well - I bet both MW and International are costly to film, with MW being on the go constantly at different locations and International being overseas in various places. Whereas with original FBI a lot of scenes are set at headquarters. Still a huge bummer though, I liked both shows, if Dick Wolf had to cancel shows I wish he would’ve cancelled one of those Chicago soap operas or the Olivia Benson Hour aka SVU. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8597925

Those shows are on NBC, a different network. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8598698

Whereas with original FBI a lot of scenes are set at headquarters. FBI International is apparently cheaper to produce, which is why the flagship show and Most Wanted required the actors to take some episodes off throughout the current season, while International was not. I wasn't sure if I remembered this correctly, but then found this Deadline article: https://deadline.com/2024/05/fbi-fbi-most-wanted-cast-episode-reduction-2024-25-1235920167/ I don't know all the places in Europe where the cases have taken place, but I guess they mostly film in Hungary and probably supplement with some scenic or panoramic shots from the real city/country. (Not unlike shows that film in Vancouver, but the setting is supposed to be New York or LA, etc.) Filming in places like Hungary and Bulgaria is much cheaper than in North America, even if you have to construct entire towns as a set. A lot of smaller-budget movies seem to do that. That said, production costs tend to go up season-over-season, so that may have contributed to International's cancellation, or the producers were told they need to cut costs in a way that is not feasible, even if you take actors out for a few episodes, simplify cases with sequences that are cheaper to shoot, and so on. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8599568

For example the Madrid episodes in season 1 and this season were actually filmed in my hometown, Szeged. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8600027

It was the lowest rated of the three (possibly because of the time slot) and with the FBI: CIA pilot coming (I guess that's a shoe-in for pickup now), the writing was on the wall here. I wonder what CBS is going to fill the third hour with on Tuesdays. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90642-fbi-most-wanted-in-the-media/page/4/#findComment-8602203
