I agree that she's doing just fine.  I'm sure she knew all the controversy around Valerie leaving so I imagine stepping into that role was a bit intimidating.  She's handled it well.  

I'm enjoying the animal theme and looking forward to the puppies next week.  I like all the kids this year but Jack and Piper remain my favorites.

I wonder if Duff will have his daughter make a quick "guest appearance."  She must be 4 or 5 by now.

I think Kardea does fine, not exactly great. But when I look at the stable of possibilities, I don't see anyone else who would fill the role better.

I hated the set up of this challenge. Knew it would eliminate someone we weren't ready to lose yet. On the plus side, puppies! Did anyone else wonder if the bakers washed their hands after petting the dogs? Guess Duff isn't getting one. Josephine can just pet him.

I kept thinking the same thing although I suspect that a lot of the shots we saw were filmed separately and spliced in.  I think the bit with Josephine was added for example.  The last time I saw her, she was still a toddler.  Time flies.

I had barely noticed the girl who left so I won't miss her.  I was very relieved that Piper and Ariel were safe.  Jack deserved his win.

Good episode. This is such a likeable group of kids. It was good to have a challenge where all of them performed capably and nobody really crashed. 

Apparently Duff Jr is not a dog person.

I'm just mad about who was eliminated. Yeah, it's a baking show but some of those decorations were awful.

I'm surprised to see him go, but it was definitely the right call.

Micah is an absolute nugget -- I would love to know that kiddo!  So happy for his win this week.

It's pretty obvious that Brooklyn is Kardea's pet and keeps getting saved. Aria's was a mess. Must have tasted REALLY good for her to be in the top. Glad she got her puppy before her inevitable bouncing.

Hmmmm.  That didn't copy/paste properly.  

Anyway, that's exactly what I thought - the flavor combination was awful and too much.  Kardea said the flavors were balanced well.  I'm not sure how that is even possible.  I like Piper though so I'm glad she stayed.

I've been expecting Jack to win the whole thing so I was shocked by his elimination.  If his cake tasted raw, I guess I can't complain.

I was happy for Micah.  He's a cutie and one of my favorites.  He sounds like a kid but his vocabulary and sentence structure are quite adult.  His parents probably never talk "down" to him.

Me too.  I remember thinking when she announced her flavors that they were the kiss of death!  I guess she just has the special touch with them.

There is no way that Piper's cake didn't taste like the inside of a grandma's purse. But with everything strong technically, she was going to be fine.

Visually her imposter was excellent, but they said her cake was over baked, too fudgy.  

I liked Brooklyn but she’s been on the verge of elimination for 2-3 weeks.  That corn was not gonna cut it.  I hope she gets her baby goat.  I’ve never heard of a “granny flat” — had to look it up!

This was the first week that I had noticed Brooklyn and had been charmed by her so of course she got eliminated!  (And Carly managed to squeak by yet another week.)  Can't disagree with her leaving but still sad about it. Congrats to Micah for another week's win.  I make a chocolate cake similar to his brownie with chocolate chips in it - it really does make for a fun and delicious bite to have that little extra bit of chocolate when you bite into it.  Although Arial's cheese did look good I thought that was kind of ridiculously easy compared to some of the other imposters and probably would have put Piper in as top 2 just on level of difficulty alone.  Loved the dance party - this is a good group of kids.

I get that they want to stick to the animal theme this season, but some of the animal "foods" were weird.  It was like the Dessert Imposters thing was shoehorned into it.  Dogs eat...steak?  Hamsters eat...grapes?

Carly's idea of macarons for the grapes was excellent. Pity her execution fell flat. But Brooklyn has been circling the drain for a while. A mercy chack. Aria should be next. Her work is consistently sloppy.

I didn't think hers was really an "imposter" though.  She made macarons and placed them on the tray in the shape of a large grape cluster, but it didn't realistically look like true grapes.  That's the whole point of the imposter challenge...  To make a baked dessert look exactly like other foods in size, shape, texture, appearance, etc.  Everyone else rose to the challenge, but Carly's definitely didn't meet the criteria.

Happy for Piper's win!  So glad Micah advanced too.  Carly rallied at the right time.  I would have been fine with Arielle going this week (her uptalk bugs me to no end).  I like Aria a lot but I can see why she was the one to go.  Duff staying in the caterpillar costume for quite some time was really funny.  I laughed along with Kardea when she was trying to make some serious judging comments to him and he was just standing there as a caterpillar.

Happy Piper finally won also.  To be honest she's been so consistently good I had forgotten that she hadn't won.  Honestly I was kind of surprised that both Micah and Carly pulled out good bakes at the end because they both seemed to struggle.

I will be happy with a Micah or Carly or Piper win for the season.  I think Aria went as far as she could have and I am hoping that someone works with her on her self confidence.  As she was tearfully saying goodbye I think she said something to the effect that she was happy she wasn't out the first week.  Perhaps I'm wrong but I would hope she realizes she is both capable and talented.

Aria's work was sloppy throughout the competition, but her flavors saved her. They couldn't overlook her mistake this time with the orange extract.

I totally thought Piper had already won at least once. She's consistently been very good. I think we're headed for Piper over Micah. They're a step above the other two and girls usually win KBC.

I basically agree although I'm not sure which one has the edge.  I'll be happy if either of them wins.  Micah seems to have a good grip on basic skills and Piper is good at decorating and presentation.  I'm not going to guess because either can have a bad day.

I've enjoyed the animal theme.
