Another sighting of Jin, UGH!

Magnum P.I.: Watch the Electrifying First 3 Minutes From the Final Run of Episodes (Exclusive)

Quote

In the exclusive clip above, a beautiful operative (played by Perdita Weeks) masterfully targets a mark, after which is extracted by two cohorts dressed as paramedics (Zachary Knighton and Stephen Hill). When the baddies catch wind of the subterfuge that is afoot, who rides to the rescue but a literal White Knight — as in the enigmatic Robin Masters’ literary hero (Jay Hernandez) — and with unexpectedly electrifying results. (El Diablo who?)

I think that the B and C plots are too much so the main story is  dumbed down. The pregnancy scare to let us know that the happy couple are doing the deed without any concern of consequences. T.C. going through physical therapy with the happy ending while also teasing a new girlfriend for Rick suggests a time skip forward is coming before the last few episodes.

Paul Blackthorne - great casting! 💕

Piper is way out of your league, Rick. But you deserve all the happiness. It’s time to put the baby mama’s drama behind you.

The current story arc for TC is truly depressing. Don’t like it. Make it stop. Do the time jump or whatever. I need TC to be happy again, pronto! The absence of Cade is weird.

Not interested in Miggy’s pregnancy scare story. Both actors don’t really give the vibes of a couple having mixed feelings about the news. They both look confused AF.

Alternatively, the show could bring back (baby) Hiapo to reunite with Thomas. It will be more heartwarming. I guess the writers prefer to appease the fandom instead.

My Dad used to tape this show on Friday nights and when I visited him on Saturdays we would watch it together.  After he suddenly died this past Febrary I only half heartedly watched the first couple of the shows - mostly because of the memories but also because I was in a rehab facility recovering from a serious auto accident.

WHen I watched this show I was surprised at TC being in a rehab facility.  I remember so well having to use the board to get in and out of a wheelchair.  Unlike TC when I first started using it the nurses/aides had to move my legs because I was unable to do so.  I was chuckling that he was really wasn't doing it right - you raise the bed higher when getting from the bed to the wheelchair (so you slide down) and lower it going from the wheelchair to the bed (again so you slide down).

As to the show - they've really taken a good show and have ruined it.  I liked this show for the scenery and the cases which now only seem to consume about 15 minutes of the show. I don't like Thomas and Juliette as a couple.  Glad we're not seeing any more of the Rick and I can't even remember her name drama.  I

"Looking for anything Magnum P.I.- related. Thank you!" – Zoe

Showrunner Eric Guggenheim tells me that fans of series vet Tim Kang should be “very” excited for the Oct. 18 episode. “We’ve been wanting to see Katsumoto undercover for the longest time but I wanted to make sure it felt justified,” Guggenheim told TVLine. “In this instance, he’s the only one of our characters who can realistically pull off this particular assignment.”

Bonus scoop: On the guest star front, Guggenheim told me that Arrow alum Paul Blackthorne’s role in the midseason premiere was purposely kept under wraps — “and I’m very happy we could get him.” Looking ahead, Kirk Fox (Jury Duty) will play an old partner of Jin’s, while Patrick Fabian (Better Call Saul) “has a big role coming up.”

Well fooled us. A catalyst to send Rick back to Suzi. But why stay with the Marines at this point

I liked that we got to see TC's mum again. Her first appearance was a bit depressing and it was great to see that she's still doing good and managed to catch this second chance.

Rick and Suzie are exhausting. The pairing initially worked for me because I'm tired of tv types like Rick dating much younger women. But I have no idea why we needed all that drama.

Higgins had a fierce fight scene but otherwise the supposed A-plot was just boring. I did enjoy the last scene in front of Rick's aquarium, it had some of the silliness of the original.

Thomas clumsily touches and manhandles that stingray without both getting injured. 🫣

A rare species of bird and a low-res reflection of a painting have led Miggy to Han’s location. 😱

Juliet can read AND speak Mandarin. Okay. 🙄

Rick getting back together with Suzy is just UGH.

It’s nice to see Verna again. Is she staying with Cade at TC’s place? Where’s Cade by the way? Mahina is somehow mentioned but not Cade. For how long do we have to wait until TC can be released from the rehab? There are only 8 episodes left. 😣

Magnum and Higgins enlist Katsumoto to go undercover when a chef at a high-end restaurant goes missing. Kumu works with Cade at the Cultural Center, confronting one of America’s darker chapters – the internment of Japanese Americans in the wake of Pearl Harbor.

Airdate: October 18, 2023

The Larry Manetti cameo had the feel of the one last time since the show is going to end.  Of course Tom Selleck admitting that someone else rolled with his legacy and showing up in the final run would be nice.

Kumu and Cade getting the last chance oral histories played nice.  I was wondering how it would play out since Japanese Americans in Hawai'i were such a high percentage of the population they were not universally interned like those on the mainland's west coast.

I get showing the industry of the kitchen and all of the prospective chefs but when the robbery crew was forcing Chef to break glass for them with two of them guarding him I couldn't figure out a reason except to slow them down. You had to love that big event with no back up security. And what's up with HPD response. The Kasumoto lead team did their job but nobody showed up to back up the main robbery?

I have no idea where Higgins sudden obsession with Magnum's money was coming from. Or that he even had money. He has always been portrayed as someone living from paycheck to paycheck and mooching from his friends. All of a sudden he makes good money? Okay then, but why does it bother her?

It's not exactly a good sign if the C plot is the most interesting one - and even if that one was pretty predictable.

Katsumoto being a badass and enjoying some cooking time with a famous chef were the highlights of the episode.

Compared to Mahina, TC’s old flame - Teresa has more memorable scenes with him despite appearing in only one episode. That impromptu helicopter ride with gorgeous landscapes is hard to forget.

I don’t understand why this show keeps inviting Bobby Lee back into their fold. He joked about raping a child FFS. 😒

I skipped previous episode and it seems like that I don’t miss anything.

Underwhelming case of the week and that Jacob/Saul boy cannot act. So cringey. I guess we’ll be seeing Sam Bedrosian again.

Thomas and Juliet are not interested in attending the annual Marine Corps Ball?

There are 3 couples now in the ohana. Will there be more than one wedding in the series finale? 🤔

Well Thomas was in the US Navy, even if he served on a special operations team with Marines in the war. And there were no other dress white uniformed sailors that I remember from the scene. Perhaps the Navy hospital corpsmen who served with Marine units would be considered honorary Marines in that social setting.

I am interested to know how the Amish children could afford to fly to Hawaii.  lol.

They make decent money. They sell a lot of their goods, including furniture to tourists. What took me the most out of all the Jacob/Saul scenes is that I was pretty sure the Pennsylvania Amish have their own distinct accent?  It’s been awhile since I personally was that way, but I thought that was the case.

I guess I can now throw out the thought human traffickers' surrounding that community like a pack of wolves picking off the kids as they emerge..

Hmm, having a private beach in Hawaii without any tourists in sight would do wonders for my faith in God too.

Seems any procedural must do a Rumspringa episode. The one Bones did was truly heartbreaking. Here, the writers decided to not touch upon the thorny subject of how it all would play out in the end.

At least the magic hacking tablet made no appearance.

S05•E18 - Extracurricular Activities

It’s Official: Magnum P.I. Will End With 2-Hour Series Finale

Although a promo that aired this week indicated that Magnum P.I. will return from the holiday break on Jan. 3, 2024 with but a singular episode, TVLine can confirm — double-secret officially! — that the island drama will in fact come to an end that Wednesday night, with a double-episode finale airing 9 to 11 pm ET.
