The Ashley’s ‘Teen Mom’ sources informed her earlier this week that Bristol was being added to the cast (but The Ashley always waits to get big scoops confirmed by multiple sources before posting).

The 27-year-old daughter of politician Sarah Palin was a teen mom, and is now the mother of three children. 

The Ashley can confirm that Bristol has signed on to be the fifth cast member on ‘Teen Mom OG.’ She will join Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout, and Amber Portwood, as well as The Challenge star Cheyenne Floyd (whom The Ashley told you earlier this month was joining the ‘OG’ cast).

TMZ is reporting that Mackenzie McKee is also joining the ‘OG’ cast but The Ashley can confirm that’s incorrect.  Cheyenne is still being added to the cast but Mackenzie is not.

“They wanted five girls, like they have for Teen Mom 2 because it’s been working out well in terms of story lines,” The Ashley’s production source tells her.

As for the selection of Bristol, the “OGs” most likely found out today when TMZ broke the story.

“Amber, Catelynn and Maci did not even know,” The Ashley’s production source tells her. “It was kept under wraps because MTV was afraid that Sarah [Palin] would pull out, and MTV knew that the original girls would be upset. In fact, they even used a different name when discussing Bristol being on the show, to keep it a secret!”

“You’re closing on my turf, girl!”

“MTV has been shooting with her already,” the source tells The Ashley. “They’ve been out there filming her for the last few weeks under a code name.”

Maci, as well as Farrah Abraham, have met Bristol on multiple occasions. The trio appeared as part of a panel on teen motherhood back in 2010.

As you know, Bristol -- now 27 -- has 3 kids and was famously engaged to Levi Johnston. She eventually married Dakota Meyer, whom she's in the process of divorcing. She was 17 when her first kid, Tripp, was born.

Bristol will join cast members Amber Portwood, McKenzie McKee, Maci Bookout and Catelynn Lowell.

The season fires up on MTV this Fall.

“She basically told production and crew that she wasn’t going to film if [her son Bentley’s father] Ryan Edwards was filming because she didn’t want his drug struggles to play out on TV anymore,” The Ashley’s crew source said. “She didn’t want Bentley to be able to watch that go down.”

The Ashley is not sure if Ryan is filming, but she can confirm that Maci is, indeed, filming for the next season.

“It worked out because MTV is happy to have five girls on the show now,” the source added.

Maci is so full of shit.  What she means is she's going to quit filming until she remembers that she needs MTV more than MTV needs her.  She has ZERO power to stop Ryan's drug problem from playing out on TV, whether she actually quits the show or not.  Bentley should NOT be watching this show anyway!  She's let filming go on far too long to be able to shield him from the crap other kids are going to say to him.  She should have cut around the time he started kindergarten.

 Silly me, of course they care. I think this is an amazing shakeup! Today they learned that they are all replaceable.

It’s always someone else, isn’t it? That’s something I don’t care for about Maci. Everything on and off this show is, and will be, out there for Bentley to see, he doesn’t even have to watch the show itself.

And they learned, right along with the rest of us, the direction this show is going to take.  Random-ass, D-list 'celebrities' who had a baby when they were a teen (doesn't matter how long ago, apparently).  The original girls (and guys) who came from 16 and pregnant, and any of the Teen Mom shows, will slowly leave one-by-one.  Maybe they'll get sick of the stupid drama (like a couple already have), most will just not get their contract renewed at some point. 

I want to say the TM's are probably all going to adjust their attitudes accordingly, but some of them will have a very hard time accepting that they aren't such big shit.

Look, I like ripping on these girls (and Tyler) as much as the next person, but MTV's The Challenge, is like, the lowest rated cable reality show, and Teen Mom is like, one of the higher rated cable reality TV shows, and if the TMOGs are losers, you and your lot are the sub losers, so I'd shut up about that.

This was kind of amusing. I never watched TM3 but I like Devoin. (Someone tell me if I'm supposed to hate him.) Most of them were surprisingly good at poking fun at themselves and the show. Weird that Tyler would get a nose job if he had plastic surgery. I guess head proportions aren't really operable.

Hearing the following words come out of Nathan’s mouth was SO worth watching this filler crap fest of a show:

“controversary”

”discushing”

“Body modification” (instead of plastic surgery)

”plublicity”

Hands down, those were the best moments, along with Ryan saying “These girls need help!”

Nathan all but said “steroids are normal and I take them too” during the segment about Adumb’s physique. 

Adele, please hook Babs up with some free tickets and a meet & greet pass!

Is it me or did it look like Gary's lost a few pounds?

Take a drink every time Kail talks over Leah. 

Devoin seems like he's maturing.  I like that he owned up to some of his crap.  I liked him tonight.  I hope he and Nova are able to have a strong relationship.  Seperate from the coven. 

I really loved the SNL and Portlandia clips they showed! 

Overall I did enjoy this.

Terrible decision to have Bristol on this show, would have been better to pic a mom from the 16 and pregnant series, someone who's struggled without fall the money, someone who was part of the franchise, Bristol may have had Trip when she was young, mtv are vering so far away from what they set out to achieve

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. But of course, Kail had to be a major sour puss on the SNL impersonation of Snooki. It was hilarious, and playing off her personality on the show and merging it with Teen Mom. No one really thinks Teen Mom promotes drinking while pregnant, even if Maci appeared to have with her last two pregnancies.

Yes and it was implied he's friends with Adumb. He's a moron. And a roid raging asshole. And a woman beater. And he's still better then Jenelle regarding Kaiser.  That poor, poor baby.  I hope his grandma can get custody. Barb may not be perfect by any stretch of the imagination but Jace really lucked out compared to his little brother.
