Just because the thread popped up. I didn't go and see Better Man in the end. Yeah, I'm interested in non human intelligence. But if he doesn't do anything apelike, then what's the point? It's just dumb cosplay. No, Robbie Williams has never interested me musically or otherwise either. I'll stick to things like King Kong or Planet of the Apes for my intelligent primates.

The best fighter in the original Karate Kid movie was Bobby.

 

I think he could have beaten Daniel fair and square if not for Kreese.  Think he could have beat Johnny too.

He may have been the best fighter, but he could not have beaten Daniel (at least not at the end of the movie) for the simple fact that Daniel was the protagonist and had to win😊

Even Johnny was better than Daniel. He mentions this in the last season of Cobra Kai how he had been practicing karate for years and Daniel had 6 weeks of training. But Daniel's main strength I think wasn't defense or wax on wax off it was his ability to focus. That's what all those breathing exercises were about. It's actually kind of annoying this wasn't mentioned more in the CK show.

I saw the new trailer for Ballerina, the John Wick spinoff. Even as an action fan I got bored of JW4 before the end, and this looks like more of the same nonsense.

You know what's a lost art in these movies? In the pro wrestling world it's called selling. Acting like you're hurt. There's only so far adrenaline can take someone before the physical damage catches up with them. Hit by three cars, stabbed, and then rolled down a flight of stairs? Even if you're alive after that, there's no way you should be getting up.

So unless another trailer wow me, it looks very missable.

I utterly adore Keanu Reeves. But I always found the John Wick movies very boring. And I watched three of them, just to find out what the hell I was missing.

Well choreographed action does not a movie make in my opinion.

I love Keanu and I loved the first two John Wick movies.  The third one didn't need Halle Berry, and the fourth one was painful to watch, knowing that in reality Lance Reddick had died, and John Wick had apparently died in the movie.   So, I have no interest in watching this Ballerina spinoff.

The first one was something new in the action genre, or at least done with a certain style. And while the others have their moments, I've just never really felt the urge to see them again.

They could have just left it as a one-shot movie about a hitman avenging his puppy, and that would’ve been just fine.
