We watched every episode of the Canadian show except #5 (couldn't find it) on youtube.

I wish this show was an hour like GBB. It goes so fast, sometimes I feel like I barely get to see the bakes. I could not even remember who the eliminated contestant was!

Just found out this is back!  Love watching each week; missed the first week but luckily I managed to start watching with episode two.  As always, lovely people and lovely judges.

I love the judges and contestants but am annoyed by Alan and Ann.  Stop asking frantic bakers idiotic questions like, "do you think you're going to finish?" followed by something they think is funny while the poor baker tries to remain focused and complete their tasks.

It makes me want to punch them repeatedly on the contestants behalf.

I forget which baker it was last night -- they were working frantically and getting cutesy questions from Alan.  Sir, this is not the time.

I had a feeling the wintergreen buns wouldn't go over well.  I like wintergreen and I like buns, but together it just didn't sound good.

It's interesting to me that baking shows on the Food Network emphasize texture in cakes -- every bake has to have some sort of crunch layer and potentially a curd or jelly or ganache.  Many of us who frequent the boards for those shows say that we've never even had cakes like that.  So The Great Canadian Baking Show is a relief of sorts, to not have to hear the constant harping on texture.  To my mind, a good cake's texture comes from the quality of the crumb, not the number of different flavors/textures you can stuff into it.

Always such a pleasant group of contestants.  Everyone truly seems to like each other and help out if necessary.  And the judges always seem to start out with a positive comment = just a feel good program to me.

Great finale with probably the best top three ever on the Canadian version. I thought it was going to be Jen but her showstopper was kind of a let down. I really want to go to Elora's tea party, her flavours sound so amazing.

A really talented group of bakers and all such nice people.  The small differences between the bakes ultimately made the difference.  Good job everyone!
