Obviously there are two sides to the story, and we have only heard Jared's side. People who want to defend Jared are leaping to a lot of unwarranted assumptions and conclusions without really knowing

Those kiddos are all so adorable.  Poor JJ looks so sleepy, or maybe even like she might have a cold.  Arrow is a little angel, and Zep looks like he's keeping his dad busy on the flight.  It's nice they can fly first class...I wouldn't want to be dealing with three little kids in coach.  They are a very blessed family.

I'm sure he is! He took up golf the year before Supernatural began because of his friendship with Tom Welling while he was on Smallville for the season.

Somebody said Gomez isn't responsible for SPN promo, that it's Holly. I don't know who runs the Twitter/IG/FB accounts, but they really suck at their job. Jensen aside, they do next to nothing to promote enthusiasm or support for the show. Tweeting at the beginning and end of an episode is meaningless preaching to the choir. I've seen more excitement from them promoting other shows/events on the SPN feed. They suck hard.

 Holly does the WBTV stuff.  So somwhere along the line IMO Gomez is responsible for promoting any cast member who is there to talk about SPN.

Cool, I just thought somebody said that at the time of ComicCon. She generally has to be shamed into even mentioning Jensen, and has more enthusiasm for Supergirl and Wonderwoman than she's ever shown for Supernatural. I know more about her pets than anything she's ever Tweeted about SPN.

I think the Comic Con thing with the big screens and maybe even the Kansas appearance was in Holly's purview. I think WBTV was the push behind all that, not the CW.  But as far as appearances on talk shows etc. IMO that's mostly in Chico's purview. But I don't see why they both wouldn't promote all the CW actors for all their appearances.  That said, Chico has always pushed Jared's appearances and not Jensen's. 

Heck. Chico was literally with Jared and Gen at their visit to Kelly Ripa when they announced the 3rd pregnancy which was Odette.

me and my fam just happened to see it live by chance, mother was just going to a random channel. we were so stoked. he so ageless, i can't get over how different his voice is when he's off dean.

I like his real voice so much better. It's smooth and like velvet. 

 

Also, UO but I already see destiel shippers using the line about Dean not being a ladies man that Jensen gave as him saying he's into Cas/guys. I'm pretty much over the ridiculous parsing of every word, action or scene.

And they had no issues tweeting both before and after Jared's appearance in the fall. They aren't usually quite so blatant in their bias, but this instance is pretty clear.

His voice is so soothing and, like you say, smooth like velvet. I've been fortunate enough to attend two meet & greets. In the first one, I didn't get to ask a question, but it was worth every penny just to sit and listen to his voice without "Dean", without a microphone. He is actually very soft-spoken, but the timbre of his voice is such you never miss a word. *le sigh*

As to the Destiel shippers (not all, but the ones who are using this in particular), do they know what the phrase means? Do they have any concept of context? Did they just ignore the part about Dean appreciating cartoon-Daphne's curves? Oy.

As the resident out Destiel shipper,  I've read already into Dean and Cas. Nothing Jensen says is going to change that. I'm still going to see subtext and that's that. Since it will never be Canon, what Jensen said isn't addressing Dean's orientation in way or the other and if some of my fellow shippers see it that way, I don't think they are serious or they have missed the nuance. And some like to poke at the anti Destiel crowd. I don't think any really see that as any sign of anything Canon chanigb with Dean.

I think what Jensen meant is that in Scooby, that Dean is kissing Daphne's hand is not really how Dean rolls with meeting women so it's Desn acting like what he thinks a suave ladies man would behave around  Daphne, and that is just not  him really. And Dean strikes out as often as he hits on women so I think Jensen sees Dean as Dean thinking he's more suave than he really is vs him not liking women.  Plus most Destiel shippers have a bi reading of Dean so Dean would still like the ladies..(and the fellas..(he doesn't judge).

I have nothing against any ship, whether I 'see' it or not. After discovering people that ship Harry Potter with Snape, I stopped questioning the wtf of it all. LOL! What I have an issue with is people who take their ship beyond their imaginations and drag the real life actors into it - at least the ones who've demonstrated that they are not into it. And then proceeding to beat them up with it. No es bueno.

Slightly O/T but not really: did anyone see Martin Freeman's recent response to the shipping of John Watson and Sherlock Holmes? My impression is it wasn't so much about the existence of the ship as the relentlessness of the fans who want what they want. I can only imagine the reaction if Jensen said something like this.

I get that. There are a few bad apples in every basket. But I don't think most are that way. At least not in my albeit limited exposure.

I agree - unfortunately those are the ones who insist on questioning Jensen about it and then getting mad at his response when it doesn't validate them.

He looked so good in that white shirt/blue jacket!

both of his voices are attractive, tbh. i fell asleep looking at an episode once because his tone was so calming LOL

that comment did confuse me though, but i wasn't taking it seriously. jensen was probably joking, dean is a clear lady magnet.

He's not a "ladies man" in the way I think Jensen was suggesting. Like the suave, debonir hand kissing type guy. When has Dean ever kissed a ladies hand other than in the pics for Scooby. That's not how he rolls.
